  1. The difference is that even at the height of Celtic's UEFA run and high spending we were still winning stuff. Now we're not and if the status quo remains there's nothing like 2 trophyless seasons to concentrate the mind.
  2. Most probably mate but in the last couple of weeks we've seen how strong support for Murray is. He promised us we'd never be 2nd to a Celtic side while he was in charge. Time for him to deliver on that promise or time for him to leave. For those of us who question his commitment and love for the club, last night's result was arguably the best one in many ways.
  3. With Celtic winning last night - normally I'd be gutted (and I am to an extent obviously!). Celtic are now guaranteed at least £12million for their CL run as well as a minimum £6million next season that means they can possibly afford to spend up to £10million between now and the start of next season. That could be considered very bad news for us and now, more than ever, David Murray has to think back to his boasts of years past and ensure that if they do spend serious money, we match it as best we can. Right now we are struggling to be even 2nd best in Scotland. If we want to secure that and ensure a challenge against a resurgent Celtic, not only do we need investment of a worthy degree but a chairman who is up for the fight. David Murray now faces his most difficult challenge since he came to the club. He suggests he's still the man for the job and obviously many, many fans still believe that. Thus, either he puts in the investment required or if he doesn't he will be forced out all the quicker. The next 1-2 years will set the tone for the next 10-20. Will we be first or last? Only one man can answer that question - hero or villian, Mr Murray - what's it to be?
  4. Good luck mate...
  5. Sods law that they end up winning just before they play us (They might be thinking the same thing right enough...)
  6. That's exactly what it was mate. Welcome to Gersnet...
  7. Hearts have just as big a problem with bigotry as Rangers and Celtic right now so their online articles are hypocriticial to say the least.
  8. From what I seen on the TV coverage it was white paper cup thrown onto the pitch. Unacceptable as were the usual imibements to song of our songs yesterday unfortunately. We can claim media/UEFA victimisation all we want and in many cases of course it's more than valid but we don't help outcase when we let the *** add-ons back into our chants.
  9. If we can go on a winning run until Xmas I'll be delighted - then we can take it from there. Consistency hasn't been our strong point this season so we should keep our expectations realistic.
  10. As usual Leggo hits the spot. The good thing about Leggo is that he's not only honest but he is objective and balanced.

McGregor will play according to RFC text.
  13. There was a cracking one in the Broomie after Sebo's late goal against Aberdeen. Best one for a good while!
  14. Stan, I'd be hugely, hugely surprised if the counter-protest was backed by some sort of in-house agenda. There are rumours of course - but I'd take them with a large pinch of salt.

    Sionko

Mate, I've thought that a few times this season and despite good wins against Hearts, Aberdeen, Livorno and Haifa we've still not managed to retain any consistency. I'm a firm believer of having 11 captains on the pitch but in many respects I think I'd settle for one right now. Not enough players take responsibility for their own performance while ensuring the whole unit are doing their part. It's hugely important to have a Bomber, a Gough, a McCall or an Ian Ferguson as well as jokers such as Durrant or McCoist. That kind of character is sadly lacking from our squad and I think our morale suffers too easily as a result.
  16. We'll be lucky if we get £500K for that waster.

    Sionko

He'll be in the squad for Sunday's game. Sionko is a strange one - he seems to look much more lively for the Czech Republic than us so far. Seems to be very much a player who thrives on confidence and considering our team's low morale so far he's not rose to the occassion other than a couple of reasonable games early in the season.

    The Blue Order

I doubt even this confused regime would put the great work of the Blue Order in the same letter as more political groups such as the RST. What fans like 'Ali' don't appreciate is that the RST don't profess to speak for anyone other than their members. Unfortunately, some would prefer to slag off their fellow fans before casting their eyes towards their heroes. Even when the RST are the only current group coming up with initiatives to raise money for our club. Don't expect the snooze to print that any time soon...
  19. I think £12K per week is a fair offer for a player who despite being exciting and talented is inconsistent and injury prone. I'd like to see him stay but I'm sick of us wasting money on players who don't deserve huge wage rises.
  20. Oh, I agree mate - but going by what the chairman has been saying I doubt we will.

    The Blue Order

Aye, another fan - obviously misinformed.
  22. We can't afford either of those 2 players. Firstly we need a quality centre-half. That will take up most - if not all - of any monies made available. Of course if we can move on the likes of Buffel then that may free up some more money but again I doubt we can afford Brown especially (who I'm led to believe has a £2-2.5million minimum fee release clause). Hibs don't need to sell at the moment either.
  23. McGregor will play on Sunday now he has signed a new contract and commited to the club.
  24. Caught red-handed one may say, FT....
