  1. Cracking signing on a permanent basis. He'll benefit with a full pre season under his belt and the chance for Gerrard to properly have a genuine chance to build much of the attack around him in bounce games before we kick back off. Please Stevie G, play him in the hole. I'd like him to have a free licence almost exclusively in that final third because with him being 2 footed he'll be a nightmare to mark.
  2. Fuck him,the club has done everthing for this guy and he treats the club and fans with disrespect. good luck to him cause with that attitude he'll need it.
  3. On the topic,I think MP has been hit and miss. There has been talent come through however I don't think we've anywhere near maximised the full potential of the facility. Remember, this was meant to put us light years ahead of Scottish football. We've got kids there right through from 10yrs to senior level. That's a massive turn over of players but how many have come through and set the world a light? For me it hasn't been anywhere near enough, you look at players like Hegerty and Perry and I can't believe they are on pro contracts let alone playing for our mighty club. these lads look no better from what I play against week in week out. And they appear to have no footballing brain, clipping hopeful ball's into areas where simply nobody is there. It's just not good enough. Bring our scouting system into it and the plot thickens. Poor poor poor. Even our signing of 'potential foreign talent' very rarely if ever make it through to being a first team regular. Also I see Timmy are in that Next Gen comp. Why aren't we? If we weren't invited then why don't we push to get in. We could talk all day about our shambles of a set up but I don't see any improvement for a while. If we do a total overhaul then it'll take years to see results. It's just really frustrating but I'm happy this is a hot topic amongst the fans. Some great opinions from the support, think it's time these get heard and acted upon in some cases.
  4. I think we saw an opportunity to cut him and went for it. Sacking him was perhaps harsh however there was an internal investigation so proper steps were taken. I'm sure Sandaza got to plead his case. In terms of clear outs and job cuts, this is the world we live in. Companies need more from employers these days. We need people that can multi task and do more than one thing for us. In some peoples eyes we may be doing things wrong but CG seems damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. We all more or less wanted Murray out and he's gone and Sandaza hasn't even come close to cutting the mustard. Now more than ever we can't have slackers or be dragging people. We need results and the correct personal to move forward. Fair play to CG iMO,debate his methods all u want but we've been a soft touch in lots of areas for far too long and it's about time all people at the club get their fingers out and start proving they are worth the big money they get from Rangers.
  5. May of course be coincidence but when CG came to answer questions in Melbourne,a question on the agenda was 'What qualifications does Murray have to be our chief scout?'. CG skipped this question and it was the only question on the agenda he didn't answer. Wonder if he knew something then/or wasn't happy with Murray?
  6. HMRC are ruthless. I said to a friend today when talking about this 'fuck them. They couldn't wait to dance on our grave'. However after reading into it more I do feel for the Pars fans. Doesn't look good for them. To be here today the gone tomorrow is a feeling we know too well...

    Plg

Was watching Australia vs Oman last night and noticed PLG is now in charge of Oman. They were 2-0 up on Australia before a come back to level and finish it at 2-2. Still an amazing result for Oman. Just wondering what everyones thoughts on PLG are now what with our current coaching set up. PLG came in and didn't take any shit ala Ricksen. He identified there was a drinking culture at Ibrox and that a core of players were ruling the roost. He also had the right idea on fitness and it clearly seems we are not at the levels required. We are a professional club performing like amateurs. I know some folks on here think we got shot of PLG far to quickly so how does everyone else think now?
  8. We have a weak squad with no real competition for the fuckwits that continue to roll up,pull on our fantastic jersey and stroll around div 3 like they are Zidane. Utter utter joke. If Ally is still manager then he has got a hell of a busy time when the embargo ends. Fuck off Black,Sandaza,Shiels,Alexander,Argy,Faure and Neil Murray for scouting most of these useless arseholes. Also Ally, your really have to question your bench selection. How many times are you going to fob off Hemmings for Sandaza. Wouldn't blame Hemmings for handing in a request right away. Just what is our football philosophy? It's not the passing game cause, well we rarely string more than 2 together with any purpose. It's not a pressing game cause we have a team full of lazy fuckers. It's purely ugly lump it forward Sunday morning garbage. Team I play with,in our 6 pre season games so far I've done 2,repeat 2 long goal kicks. My manager wants it passed out at the back and built from there. He goes spare if it goes long. And this is on shitty bumpy hard pitches in Melbourne. Alexander continues to pump it long even when the full backs drop off for a short one. Maybe he knows the midfield are crap and will offer no movement ahead...or most likely it's what Ally wants. It's horrible to watch and what a waste of time this season has been. What the hell do the do in training all week?
  9. GS not trying to have a pop at you but how about taking stock of the good things CG has done? We appear better off and there is good ideas in place to take us to the next level. I believe CG sometime massages the truth but he has lived up to his word with most wouldnt you say? He's taken on the clubs enemies and so far won so bit of slack for the man surely?
  10. Thanks Ian. I'm amazed that in my 20 something years of supporting Rangers I never knew this. There you go.
  11. Never a red IMO,just how else is Nani to control that ball on the run coming over his head?Studs weren't showing. Ruined the game and Arboloa rolling around like a pussy didn't help matters. Poor from him.
  12. Can anyone tell me why on the official Gers twitter the were calling our reserves #Swifts? Where on earth has that come from?
  13. I want Regan and Doncaster out and shame attached to them forever. Fucking scum. Also would like to congratulate Ally, Charles, Rangers and us the fans for NEVER lying down to any of these arseholes who tried to hold us down and rape us. Justice has been done and now heads must roll.
  14. Hmmm Fergie in Australia. While he did fantastically well last season to get Perth to the Grand final which they eventually lost, this season Perth have been rank rotten. He didn't exactly do too great at the other A-league team he managed (which is now defunct). TBH i haven't heard many people raving about him out here, don't think that's a good sign. Especially after the amount of time he's been here. Personally i'd hope he doesn't come back to us. Legend all the same but if we are to have an ex player come back in a coaching capacity i'd rather it be someone like Van Bronkhurst or Laudrup.
  15. Ok just back from the Qand A with CG. I will do my best to remember his answers of the questions and give an all round summary of the evening. All in all he was there for about 3 and a half hours and although he was selling many aspects of the ideas he has,he came across very well and had good banter with the crowd of between 75 to 100. Ok, so when we entered the room there was an A4 sheet of the submitted questions on the chairs. In total there was 24 questions but i won't type them all up as i wana go to bed and it'll just take me ages so i'll trim it down a fair whack. Also whilst doing the questions, about half way through because it was going so slowly due to CG's long answers and people in the crowd asking questions leading on from the answers of the original questions, CG just picked up the question sheet and finished with a 'Quick fire round'. He then went onto an open floor. Come to the latter later. So here we go. Q:Can you give us an update on Sandy Jardine? A:CG saw Sandy at his home 3 weeks ago. Although he is in recovery,he has lost a lot of weight and finds it difficult to make it short distances. Sandy's goal is to make it to a game before seasons out. Q:Does the club plan to tour OZ and NZ anytime soon? A:Not next year as that's most likely North America but most likely the year after. Q:Plans for a cental coast academy, how will this differ from the Northern Spirit venture? A:CG will be meeting with Central coast people during this trip but he did state that 20 years ago there was very few Aussies in the UK playing. Now there are many and with the contacts out here such as Iain Ferguson and Ian Munroe, he hopes to convince the best talent that Rangers is their best option. He also said that the deal for the Mariners goalkeeper is NOT dead. Watch this space... Q:What are Rangers plans on youth? A:CG stated that he dreams we can be like a Man U, Barca or Madrid but it is just that. A dream. His vision is for Rangers to become like Ajax,Porto,Sporting and Dortmund. As well as trying to nurture our own talent we WILL look to try and pick up the best foreign talent. Trying to pick up players from the likes of Barca B team was mentioned... Q:Have the SFA released funds from Southampton for SD? A:Some of the funds have been released and we are due more should they stay in the EPL. Q:Do you have a strategy to allow the club to play cross border football? A:CG will shortly be attending a meeting in Antwerp to discuss this as Dutch and Belgian clubs are in the same boat. He has also been in touch with the Prime minister trying to sell the idea of Rangers playing in England and hoping the PM will lobby on Rangers behalf. CG said the SFA would NOT stand in our way if we were to leave. Q:Following the recent appeal of HMRC, have they indicated the basis of their appeal? A: CG thinks they have no basis,it's simply to 'Save face before they go for Man U and Middlesbourgh'. Q:Who had the deeds for MP,the car park and Ibrox? A:Rangers international Q:We've been of a Gers museum for years, what is the go on it? A:CG said that plans are being drawn up for this. They want to make the whole match day experience better for fans coming from all over the globe. Ideas are being taken and he wants the fans to be pro active in this area and throw ideas at the club. Ok that's the best of it. Funnily the Stadium name didn't really come up except that deals will be named soon about kit and stadium deals. It's taken a while to iron out but CG wants 1 years deals for both as he believes he can get a far better deal the higher up the divisions we are. As mentioned previously from someone who was at the Perth meeting, CG sold the idea of Rangers going all out with their own media. An example he used was as media and football is changing,he doesn't think SKY will have control of rights in years to come. The clubs will. HE wants to be able to sell the games to fans worldwide on a new Rangers App for 1 quid. By CG's maths this could equate to 5mill or so should all fans buy it of course. There will also be a no holds bared talk show where fans can ring up and bring up issues on WHATEVER with CG and Ally on ANYTHING. Jim Traynors roll, he has something on just about every chairman in the SPL and then some. We have the best media guy in the country and Green has told him not to hold back on ANYTHING even if our own fans are out of line. He says JT see's that the whole country is against us. The open floor was poor. I didn't get to ask my questions. 1 i was going to ask was 'What are we doing to attract youngsters in North America and other parts of the world and how are we going to convince them to pick Rangers over Chelsea or whoever? But i couldn't get the chance. CG got off lightly here. Most of the people that got mike time wanted to thank him for saving the club or for standing up to the SFA/SPL. However one guy asked about Gazza and what we the Rangers family were doing about helping him. CG said he will chat with Mike Ashley about a friendly between Rangers and Newcastle in order to help the legend. Someone then in the crowd shouted out 'Aye play it on Scottish cup final day'. CG liked that one. Ok think i got pretty much all of it. All in all it was a good meet. CG said it was his duty to come out to all parts of the world and address Rangers fans personally. That went down well as did many a thing however i felt it was a missed opportunity to press him on issues like our youth lads not being in an SPL youth league and Neil Murray (that question WAS on the agenda but wasn't answered). That is that.

  17. Yeh TBH I'm interesting in asking about youth set up and scouting.

    Alex McLeish

Interesting shout, like the sound of it. Would be a massive coup.
  19. At the Supporters club. There is going to be a 2hr QandA,the first hour of which will be pre selected questions and the 2nd hour open to everyone there. CG staying on for signings and pics after. What's everyones thoughts for a possible question for me to put to him?
  20. So what? Every big company in the world has people that basically travel the world on their dollar entertaining clients I.e taking them to dinner and discussing proposals. That's how it works. The ends justify the means. IMO I'm glad about it. The Melbourne QaA is booked out already so I'm on the wait list for it. Hope I can get in. But I'll tell you this, there's heaps of ex pats out here so there's a Market. And I'm sock to death of being in a minority out here cause there's heaps of kids wearing scum tops out this way,an they've got Australian accents. Rangers haven't bothered their arses to market out this way so even if this isn't in the plans then I'm happy CG is at least coming out to directly talk to the fans here.
  21. We should be looking at guys in the conference league as there's gems down there. It's a better standard than div 3. Young lads playing in conference have been thrown on the scrapheap by clubs. But we also need a manager that is going to let our youngsters express themselves and build around them, kind of like what Advocat did with Barry.
  22. This is really interesting to me,not just from a Rangers view. The ground Victory youth play is 5mins for me in the car so I will personally go and watch Stella play and will even try to talk to him after the game. Also he played against Melbourne Heart youth the previous week. Melb Heart have just been given the ok to play in my league this coming season which is pretty exciting stuff.
  23. Atkins would be a nice choice also. Thought they pumped him a little too quickly . Even though Ally is of course still in charge, this subject as seen in this thread will continue to be discussed as long as the team keeps failing to show consistent signs of improving.
  24. I've been a supporter of Ally but I'm struggling to defend him and his staff now. I'm not seeing many strides in the right direction here. Our defending and passing is a joke. Even Alexander is pumping it long to a lone striker who is just going to flick it on to no1. We also have disciplinary problems. Naismith was stupid and Black although his first booking was harsh, should have known better. The question that should be asked on evidence of poor discipline and performances is are the players buying into Ally's philosophy? Also Ally, please stop fucking around with the players at training. Start cracking the whip. The friendly approach isn't working. You're the boss this isn't a popularity contest. I've been a fan of Billy Davies for a while now and I'll stick my neck out by saying I want him to take over. Overhaul the club. New scouting networks and coaches. Too many people at the club are going through the motions. It's getting to the point where I'm not bothered if I watch us or not. I've seen us about 6 times this season and we've been mince every time. I'm sick of it. I and we as Rangers fans after all we've been through deserve so much more and we deserve to be heard and have questions answered.
  25. Just listening to the world football phone in bbc podcast. Pretty good, listen to it every week. They were raving about Dean Furman's performances in the African cup of nations. Still playing for Oldham but by all accounts impressing scouts at the tournament. We papped him out on loan then sold him. Waltersgotstyle stole my thunder a bit. I'd LOVE to see Lauders coaching our youngters. A mix up of the scouting network would be nice too. Just what are Neil Murray's qualifications and connections for him to be our chief scout?
