  1. Instead of frothing over the manager's decision to allow PT a free goal yesterday, we might think seriously about the long overdue decision to appoint a new captain as a further signal that change is upon us. Beale needs to find a way to do this without causing upset in the ranks but the lack of leadership on the park from the present incumbent is glaring, especially when the contrast with someone like Goldson is so stark. Out of the current crop we maybe have 3 or 4 who could bring authority to the role but probably only one clear choice. Who knows, if relieved of the burden of captaincy, Tav might actually rediscover enough form to take a half decent corner kick again.
  2. You've no idea how much pleasure I take from watching you make a complete clown of yourself over this issue ... so I thought I should let you know.
  3. Heading textbooks?
  4. I wouldn't shit on the path you've chosen. Actually, I would.
  5. If Mick Beale thought it was the right thing to do then it was the right thing to do, not just because it cancelled out a goal but because of the message he's trying to send to players, fans and media alike that this is who we are. He has repeatedly spoken about the importance of creating an "identity" that everyone can share and this spoke volumes about who he wants us to be. Sure he took a chance but it was worth it. I can't share this "fuck em" philosophy, what Beale did was far more important and ultimately long lasting than Tillman's goal. Every one of our players is a little more engaged to this club today.
  6. For a while there under GvB I was coming ambivalent whether Ryan Kent stayed or not but since Mick Beale arrived Kent has been transformed and I'm back to thinking we need to do everything we can to get his signature on a new contract.
  7. At half time Tillman had been so anonymous I felt he must be carrying an injury but in the second half I thought he was sensational. At the other end of the spectrum, Kamara and Tavernier look absolutely spent and at the end of their Rangers road. Kamara just seems aimless and disinterested, while TAV can hardly put a foot right these days. In fact, I can't remember the last time our captain turned in an acceptable performance. Contrast with Barisic who had been fairly dire until the World Cup but came back from Qatar, worked his socks off and is now by far our best fullback. Through to the next round!
  8. Well that was shit .... embarrassingly poor. Play like that in the second half and we're out. Our problems were summed up in one scene - McGregor confronting the ref over another poor decision and our captain standing nearby hanging his head and saying nothing. Jack, Kent, Wright on Kamara, Tillman, Cantwell off
  9. Unexpected decision to play Sands at the back but it might be best to judge him after we see how he actually performs.
  10. I've not bought a lot of it but what I do have from Castore certainly isn't garbage. In fact I'd say it was better quality that most of the stuff offered over the last 20+ years. But you're bang on about the delivery, which is far short of what it should be. On the whole I think Castore have done not so bad but the choice was obviously made on the basis of the deal we were able to get at the time. Somehow I think, whoever our next kit supplier is, we'll still be complaining about them. It's what we do.
  11. I never really understood the problem with simply resigning from your domestic league and setting off to join a league that isn't affiliated in any way with the EPL or UEFA. Is it because these top clubs wanted to retain some kind of presence in their respective domestic setups that they are open to being punished? If so, why don't they just leave completely .... they can then market their own product and the money will follow them regardless.
  12. It might be reasonable to have expected this all over the Scottish MSM today but bizarrely I'm struggling to see it. I mean, knowing how obsessed our media outlets are with sporting integrity.
  13. No problem, I was sure you weren’t just being thin skinned.
  14. If I’d meant you I’d have had no difficulty saying so. Only you’ll know if the cap fits. Criticism of this clothing range has been widespread - Twitter is loaded with it - for no good reason I can see.
  15. Damned if I can see the problem with the decision to release the AD/DC clothing range. No one is forced to buy it but there will be those who are happy to do so, which will only benefit the club. As a support we seem extraordinarily keen to sneer at anything we personally don't like. Maybe we should just go back to the days of cheap tat and fat bastard T-shirts ... at least that had the merit of being equally shit for everyone.
  16. Rangers 4 Partick Thistle 0 FGS: Colak
  17. I believe you're right.
  18. We've both won and lost many finals. Only one defeat left so much pain I'll never really get over it ..... the 4-0 loss to Celtic in 1969. That was truly horrendous.
  19. Surely some of Club1872 are Rangers fans.
  20. It looks like fan ownership is a reality at last.
  21. Decent efforts from Cantwell, Tillman, Barisic and Jack but being of a contrarian persuasion I vote for Ben Davies, who I feel is now emerging from an early period of restraint and asserting himself as the excellent centre back we needed. At this rate don't be surprised if he ends the season as our best defender.
  22. That's a hell of a young age to die and a tragedy for his family, to whom I'm sure we all send our sincere condolences.
  23. Not so much a distraction to anyone because that would imply an element of directed intent. More a distraction for whoever chooses to focus on the trivia of the tweet rather than the performances of the player. At least that's what I assume Buster meant. We're not yet so closely aligned that I can be sure on every occasion. 😄 But we're making progress.
  24. I think Club1872 died a few years ago. It's really just the Rangers equivalent of the SNP ... dishonest, conniving and utterly incapable of fulfilling its aims.
  25. I can't believe they actually released that.
