The Winter 2022/23 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread

Fair enough but we've signed so many shrinking violets these last few years that I'm beyond wary of any more time wasters. -

Looks like a very straightforward "do not touch with a barge pole" to me. If he lacks the character to board a bus for his team I think it's very unlikely he'll be able to shoulder the weight of a Rangers shirt. -
Goldson, Davies, Jack, Sakala .... probably one of those, can't make up my mind. Barisic scored a cracking goal but one kick of the ball doesn't make a MOTM over 90 minutes.

That first half was so forgettable that I've forgotten it already. -

Surprised to see Lundstram in the team, given his poor form recently and I see we're still going with only 2 defenders, which I think is quite brave. Perhaps Tav and Barisic might help out now and then. -

It really doesn't matter what we think. Neither of us makes the decisions about who plays and who doesn't. -

I know we live in a bubble of hope but nothing I've seen of McCann suggests he is likely to make it at Rangers. -

Looking at the Match Hub on RTV it looks like they will be showing the game. -

Kamara has shown many times he has all the skill in the world and he could/should be a key part of our midfield. The problem for Rangers appears to be in his head. As others have already said, he can't seem to maintain focus or application for any length of time and frequently looks thoroughly disinterested. I think the club and several managers have been more than fair to Glen but it's probably time he decided if he really wants to compete for a place or ship out. There's a lot of goodwill towards him among the support but it's starting to wear thin. -

Yes. Personally I think it's time we tried playing with fullbacks again. -

The improved performances of so many players since Beale replaced van Bronckhorst speaks volumes for just how low morale in the dressing room had sunk under the previous manager. Jack, Kamara, Kent, Sakala and Morelos seem renewed. Sadly, if we're to see similar improvement in defence then it looks like it will only be achieved with replacements. -

Many of us wanted McLaughlin to be given a chance. I can't imagine many of us now think he's the answer to our goalkeeping needs. It looks increasingly like we'll have to go to the market for a new goalie. -

Cantwell is a very lucky man. How long it takes him to realise that will be revealing. -

It was difficult to vote for anyone other than Goldson - but I did. I went for Ryan Kent.

It's always going to be tough while we continue playing with only two defenders and makeshift goalkeepers. At least those two defenders are now actual defenders instead of a midfielder and someone from our youth team. Oh and a genuine captain wouldn't be a bad idea either. -

A beautiful tee shot, a well-crafted wedge to 3ft and struck into the cup like a pro. -

Powder puff midfield. Ryan Kent has done more in midfield than our 3 midfielders combined. I don't know what's wrong with him but Lundstram isn't at the races tonight at all. Our defence is exposed every time they come forward. -

Equally, the wrong couple of bodies could deplete the transfer fund, tie up salaries for years and contribute nothing to the success of the team. It would be better to sign no one than sign the wrong players out of haste. -

I hate these bloody plastic pitches but they're about what you'd expect in a country that thinks a bloke in a bra is a woman. -

Maybe we should wait and see what happens before panicking -
When you ask players like Wright and Kent to be direct and prepared to take on defenders, you have to accept much of what they try won't come off. That's always been true .... and is also valid for the best players. Wright can change a game every bit as much as Tillman or Kent and to that extent should definitely be retained in this squad. I find the criticism of him wholly unjustified.
