  1. Indeed.
  2. You can argue Matondo's case based on his previous record until the cows come home. All we can really do is use the evidence of our own eyes when he's worn a Rangers shirt and it's largely been a colossal disappointment. He could be a hall of fame hero at a dozen other clubs but if he can't show basic ball control or passing skills when playing for Rangers then he's wasting everyone's time and no small amount of money.
  3. As always, it's impossible to make an informed assessment from this distance but to me he doesn't look or sound anything like another Bain. You'd have to share the same working environment over a period of time to know what his potential is as a leader (which is what we need and Bain never was) ... in the end it comes down to his ability to make sound judgements and, in that respect, it could be of considerable benefit that Bisgrove has insight into what Robertson got right or wrong. All we know for sure is that John Bennett and presumably the rest of the board think he has the qualities required for the job. What none of us know is exactly what the terms of reference are for the role of CEO. What I'd look for is Bisgrove making changes over the next three-six months that signal his ownership of the role.
  4. That was a horrendous period. I didn't know whether the worst damage was going to be done by the so-called spivs or people like Brown and the cringeworthy SoS.
  5. I never considered Van Veen but now you mention him it would be quite a shrewd move. 👍
  6. But fans always know best dontcha know.
  7. Why on Earth would you think that? I assure you I've never told Club1872 to do anything or made any suggestion to them about how they conduct their forlorn affairs. In fact I've never once had any inclination to speak or write to them in any capacity. I wouldn't waste my time. The only place I've ever commented on them has been right here.
  8. Anyone is free to send suggestions to the club at any time. No need to be a website to do it.
  9. Maybe we should wait to see if Robertson jumped or was quietly pushed
  10. Yes and wouldn't be a surprise if there's more to follow. Essential that Bisgrove's replacement is carefully selected.
  11. I think the appointment of Bisgrove as CEO is an interesting one. Very capable, innovative, achiever and has been around Rangers long enough to know the ropes at this club.
  12. Club announcement
  13. I think there will be disagreement but I would be seriously pursuing Kevin Nisbet as the answer to our goalscoring issues.
  14. No, I think you're absolutely right. Too many of our lot clearly don't believe they can beat Celtic.
  15. That might need to change if we make it to the cup final
  16. That's becoming increasingly apparent in his play.
  17. Didn't GvB assure us that he had the final say? I think he did but I could be wrong.
  18. Reading that statement, the underlying premise seems to be that all will be well as long as the Chairman consults and takes on board the wisdom of these groups. It reeks of arrogance and unearned self-importance. I don't deny they have a point of view the same as everyone else but the assumption that such views must be valid is laughable. In the complex environment of running Rangers, I'll trust John Bennett long before I take seriously the necessarily ill-informed opinions of these supporters groups.
  19. There's a strong suspicion that was indeed the case .... but whether it was by design or accident is unclear and, either way, I've seen no actual evidence of it.
  20. It may well be a more simple process. Some might even think it's a better process but I'm uncomfortable that Michael Beale constantly chooses to express his opinions in the media. It looks increasingly like he's fighting to define the boundaries of his responsibilities but it shouldn't be a debate to be conducted in the papers. Would Walter have done it like this?
  21. Good judgement prevails.
  22. I wish! But that simply isn't going to happen and make no mistake, from the other side it will be a carefully planned exercise in absolving the BBC from any blame. Only it's their game, on their turf, played to their rules and where they will always have the final say.
  23. What case is that?
  24. I've never had any contact with Club1872 and have no desire to tell them to do anything. The idea of joining them in their dance of stupidity is laughable.
  25. You "sympathy" with this redundant organisation presumes there is a point, an end product, to their accumulation of shares. This was originally to amass a shareholding that would act as a buffer against malicious owners/directors. Not only have they have failed spectacularly to build that shareholding but have adopted an adversarial approach towards the club they profess to protect. Now they're in a situation where they can never achieve the level of shareholding that was so crucial to their business plan and, having lost their core mission, they have neither direction nor strategy. All that's left is an unseemly squabble. It's over, time to dismantle the sham and walk away.
