  1. You're quite wrong and I'll double down on that first sentence. It might be a long time ago but Kamara DID perform well in his initial spell at Rangers and was once considered our best selling asset. There's equally no doubt that his value has since been shredded by his inability to earn a regular starting place and too many ineffectual performances when he did. It's not a comment on his ability but on his willingness to show it. Hopefully he will find a new club soon.
  2. Kamara started so well at Rangers but over the piece has been a disinterested flop. Lundstram has shown he can be a valuable presence in midfield but his confidence seems to be so fragile that a couple of poor games can send him into a tailspin for the whole season. Both appear to have ability but lack what Jock Wallace rightly called "character". Ryan Jack on the other hand has it in abundance. If the assessment is that Jack can play 20-30 games next season at a reasonable financial arrangement then another 12 months is a no-brainer.
  3. Someone might be along to tell me I can’t add 😂
  4. 32 appearances this season
  5. It goes without saying but we’ll know for sure about Beale a year from now. For my taste, he talks far too much but there have been many good managers over the years who liked the sound of their own voice … Brian Clough?
  6. Of the current underachievers I might have been tempted by a choice of Cantwell, Tillman, Goldson or Jack. But Tavernier or Barisic ffs? It just adds insult to injury.
  7. For the weak and feckless, yes, I can understand the attraction. 😉
  8. Rumours - don't you just love them?
  9. Say it all really. I won't be taking part in this pointless exercise.

    Gazza

A fabulous footballer but a sad and pitiful person who wouldn't have received a fraction of the tolerance afforded him had it not been for his football fame.
  11. Rangers 1 Celtic 2 FGS - Cantwell
  12. .... and the club has offered up the following candidates too vote for ...... Tavernier, Barisic and Tillman. As if you needed further confirmation of how bad a season this has been. Ridiculous.
  13. Yes, I hesitated with that myself then thought "what the fukk, I'll say it anyway"
  14. There was some mention of poor or misdirected medical diagnosis but, honestly, if they haven't got to the bottom of it by now then you have to wonder if they ever will. I think it's more likely we're just allowing his contract to run to a conclusion and that he will never play for us again.
  15. Never heard of it. What does it mean?

    MyGers

If you want to attend every game, you buy a season ticket. I kept on buying season tickets right through the lower league days when you could choose any seat you liked and anyone could buy tickets on a game-by-game basis. Now times have changed and there are very few tickets available to buy. If I understand it right (I might well be wrong) the MyGers system puts season ticket holders at a huge advantage for buying the handful of tickets sold for each home game and that doesn't seem right. It means season ticket holders are rewarded twice and a lifelong Rangers fan from overseas has virtually no chance unless he boosts his MyGers points and the only way to do that effectively is to buy a season ticket - which he can't because there's a waiting list. What I'm saying is that there should be a realistic way for all Rangers fans to buy tickets. Perhaps more match day tickets should be reserved for general sale before being hoovered up by season ticket holders with lots of MyGers points.

How did they get those tickets? I would have thought the current MyGers arrangements would have ensured tickets went to season ticket holders.

You can't, so you have to make a presumption. Yours is that they can't be arsed. Mine is that if you want to attend lots of games, and you can, you buy a season ticket and if you can't then you should still have a decent opportuniy to attend on whatever frequency you can manage. So loyalty is exclusively expressed by attending games and fans in Germany, Dubai, Sweden, America, etc must always be considered less loyal Rangers fans? If you find it difficult to attend many games due to illness or infirmity then you're a less deserving Rangers fan. That sounds dangerously elitist to me and there's no getting away from it, it is saying if you have a season ticket then you're more of a Rangers fan. That's an arrogant road to go down, considering the contribution made by the vastly larger part of the Rangers support who simply can't attend Ibrox at every opportunity.

I'm a bit uncomfortable with the implied assumption that some Rangers fans are somehow better than others. There are many good and loyal Rangers fans for whom routine attendance is simply impossible and they shouldn't be excluded from occasionally buying tickets when they can make it to Ibrox.

I look on MyGers as a sort of loyalty tax. Like all other taxes you get next to bugger all for it but if you try hard you might find a sense of moral superiority.
  21. It was more of a technical query about how non-footballing costs impact on the FFP calculation. Sleep, I have lost none.

I never considered it before but I think I agree with you regarding ballots for tickets. If you're a member, you're a member.

    MyGers

I don't think I've benefited in any material sense from MyGers in the two years I've been a member but it strikes me as a much better way to throw money away than giving it to Club1872. At least with MyGers I know the money goes to Rangers.
  24. Given the massive cost overrun completing NEH, does this in any way affect our FFP position? Or is it the annual amortisation charges, rather than the capital cost that is relevant ... or neither?
