  1. The confusion emanated from the ill-informed gutter press. Another reason people should stop buying the red tops.
  2. Any points from last season don't kick in until 2020/21.
  3. Scotland has been a footballing nation since association football came into being. Scotland is a nation. Always has been. Anyway, the list posted by buster is rather daunting. The only team out of that lot I'd give us any chance against is Espanyol. Although we were quite lucky in last year's draw, so something more like that is entirely possible - but teams will know we're a tough nut to crack this time.
  4. It looks like the tougher ties kick in in Q3, although I hope the players and management don't see it like that. I'm looking forward to July.
  5. Candeias isn't good enough.
  6. The online Rangers support tends to split on just about every issue, other than wanting Rangers to be a successful team. When you go to matches, things tend to be a bit more diluted and reasonable (with exceptions). The majority of Bears just want to see a decent side and have a few pints with friends and family and barely touch on the politics/causes etc, in my experience. But the same majority will happily read the Record/Sun and tune into Sportscene once a week. They aren't mobilised or focused enough to change things in our favour. That's just the way it is.
  7. I entered a draw at work today and pulled out number 55. I didn't win the draw but I couldn't give a toss because now I know we're gonnae win the league!
  8. It's unbelievable that we have to play these sorts of teams. I suppose it's a decent pre-season workout but really, neither Gibraltar or Kosovo are even actual countries.
  9. Looks like we're assisting Liverpool FC and quoting lyrics written by an oddball. Blue Monday?

    New Ibrox

Most big clubs move to a new stadium because they can't build upon or expand their current stadium. Why would we need to move?
  11. What sort of midfielder is Aribo? Defensive, creative or box-to-box?
  12. I never thought I'd say this but I hope Argentina beat Scotland. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48440449 First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has been giving Shelley Kerr tips on how to deal with life in the spotlight, the Scotland head coach has revealed. Kerr has led her side to a first World Cup finals, where they have lost to England and Japan. Sturgeon is patron of the women's national team, something Kerr says she takes "very seriously". "She was really forthcoming and I wanted to tap into her leadership skills," she told BBC Scotland. "It was fantastic to sit down and tap into her knowledge and experience as being the country's ultimate leader."

  14. I have high hopes for him. Much like Middleton, I think he'll be a big player for us in years to come. Not sure he'll have much of a say during the forthcoming season though. We have a decent midfield as it stands but Arfield and Davis will be good to learn from.

I fail to see any benefit. Ibrox is home, the Main Stand is a magnificent, listed building and the transport infrastructure is as good as it gets in the city of Glasgow (it's also a reasonable walking distance from the city centre). The newer three stands aren't exactly state of the art but with sufficient upkeep, there's nothing wrong with the stadium at all.

I quite like the look of it but a roofless all-seater in Scotland would be mental. More because of rain/sleet/snow than temperatures (nights in Madrid in December/January are often colder than those in Scotland). I'm hearing good things are happening at Ibrox just now anyway, with regards to upgrades/refurbishment.
  17. It feels more like giving up a bad habit than surrendering.
  18. I don't think anyone who has deserted the national team since the mid 90s has missed much.
  19. Maybe they wear Rangers tartan kilts.
  20. I can understand Bears supporting Scotland but the thought of providing funds to an organisation that adheres, on a consistent basis, to the wishes of their masters at the Piggery is, frankly, daft. Rangers matter. International football doesn't.
  21. The Scotsman used to be a good paper but the sports section is populated by Rangers hating goons, so it's best ignored.
  22. It is truly amazing that a guy earning several thousand pounds a week has an attractive partner. Has this ever happened before?
  23. We need a good creative player. Where we failed last season was breaking down teams who park the bus. Squad players and central defenders won't change that.
  24. 20th November 1996. We won 2-1 (McCoist scored both goals).
  25. I'm really not too bothered if we get Kent back or not. I'd prefer us to focus more on bringing in permanent additions.
