Rangers FC no longer for sale

Recommended Posts

I know that one or two people do have credible 'sources'. However, these 'sources' are not particularly high in the food chain themselves but just have strong connections to those that may be 'in the know'. In other words these sources are not SDM, Martin Bain or Alistair Johnston who will probably be the only people with the correct information.

We have to realise that there are several different levels of gossip here but the gossip is essentially the same none the less. Club employees and fan reps are only standing round the water-cooler chewing the fat the same as we are doing here. Of course there will also be an element of 'Chinese Whispers' as rumour works it way down the ladder.

To be clear, I don't doubt the various people who are passing on this information do so in good faith but even they must realise that by the time they get the info, circumstances may have already changed so the information (or parts of it at least) will be wrong.

As such, IMHO, it is much better to keep such information private until such time it is official and irrevocable. But then what would we all have to talk about!

All in all, folk need to keep salt handy and take rumours as they are. Rumours. Unsubstantiated and only worth discussing as a bit of fun to keep the debate going. Just think of them as a way of ruining newspapers and journalists!

Come on Frankie this thread has nearly 700 posts we don't want the rumours drying up. A good rumour will be news one day. Keep them coming.:)

Reuters reporting that Murray has 'fficially taken the club off the market. Not because of a new owner but to allow the management team to focus on their jobs. Not looking good for a takeover.

Any link, that's on FF but no link provided so far.

You have to wonder if some of the fan organisations will be running for cover - did the RST not say that anything was better than Murray ? Apologies if I have gotten this wrong.

My concern is that the statement looks very short-termism. Stating that CL qualification is a major reason for taking them off the market is short-termism because the likelihood of us making the CL next season given we would need to qualify is somewhat unlikely - and that is assuming we win the league again.

One has to assume the funds will still be made available to WS to strengthen even given this news as it would have been agreed to by the bank.

Actually.... when you say you hope this is another smokescreen stewarty.... it would look like wabash's original assertion that the club was even in essence for sale could be the true smokescreen.

SDM could have been using the "club is for sale" as a smokescreen to get the bank round the table to agree on a workable business plan - although that said, this only occurred after we secured the SPL and CL group stage qualification.

The waters arent any clearer.
