Then there's Ashley who holds us to ransom and refuses to pay us our share of the retail profits, and you think King is the chancer? Wow. You've got a very weird way of looking at things. That was not what he implied. The simple version reads: both "dodged" taxes, one paid a settlement, the other did not and ruined "his" company and our club. He should be asking the club to get rid of passengers like Hutton, Zaliukas, Peralta, Shiels etc etc guys who offer us nothing and using their wages saved to improve the team, not crying about adding even more rubbish onto what we already have. McCoist probably shouldn't be given one more pence to spend. His transfer record is deplorable. One successful signing out of over 30 and he isn't even at the club any more. Who are you thinking of? I had a think about his transfer dealings yesterday and the only one I could really think of was Lee Wallace. And Bocanegra wasn't a bad signing either. Struggled for any more .......... I had a think about his transfer dealings yesterday and the only one I could really think of was Lee Wallace. And Bocanegra wasn't a bad signing either. Struggled for any more .......... King's hardly anywhere near the level of Whyte, which is rather obvious though. There's a big difference between what Whyte did and what King did. Whyte deliberately evaded taxes. King used a tax avoidance scheme which can be highly subjective, hence why it took so long to deal with. The BTC was also highly subjective and the outcome was always in some doubt. I'm sure in King's case that neither side was 100% sure of their grounds and it finally comes down to a subjective opinion as to where the emphasis on a specific element should be. I've agreed for my company to pay HMRC a settlement in the past. I didn't believe it was due but had some doubt as to whether I would definitely win if it went to a hearing, plus it would have taken a lot of time and money to fight it. It was far better to pay over a 5 figure sum and get them to leave us alone. It smacks of blackmail at times. I do not believe I was evading tax. This is just an example of how these cases are not clear cut, unlike the one involving Whyte. All big companies use every loophole they can to minimise tax. I disagree on Wallace. He's the one player (McLeod) aside who's on a different level in terms of awareness and footballing intelligence. In a side where he could count on somebody covering him and with a bit of movement ahead of him you'd see the best of him.
