Third Allan bid rejected

Recommended Posts

Looks like the player is coming to us sooner or later. Don't up the offer, sign him in January. Why give money to a club that hates us?

Hibz have a choice:-

1) keep an unhappy player and lose him at the end of the season for nothing or a pittance in january

2) sell him now and use whatever money they get to strengthen their squad

Incredibly Stubbs seems determined to keep Allan as per 1) which suits us fine IMO. I think he'll find the player's heart is no longer in it and his form will suffer.Allan was easily their best player last season and if he's less effective this season then that can only help us in the league.

Somehow though I think he'll be a Rangers player by the end of month even if it goes right down to the last few seconds of the transfer window like what happened with Steven Naismith.

This is just stupid from Hibs , never has keeping an unhappy player worked out , especially one in the last year of his contract who has made it clear he is not going to sign a knew contract and almost certainly will sign a precontract with us come Dec 1st , they are on a lose lose situation , better settling on a deal for money or players and moving on

Allen stating to Rotherham that he wanted to stay in Scotland will be a blow to Hibs. They would have been hoping to sell him to an English team.

If hibz hadn't realised that Allan would rule out going to Rotherham they must be really stupid indeed.

It's a completely and utterly unreliable source of player transfer values. Clubs will buy and sell at all sorts of prices and a website like Transfermarkt has no real or significant insight into that.

Let's turn that argument on its head and ask: what is a reliable source for player transfer values?

We all know that clubs place values on their players, based on a variety of variables. Buyers will do so as well. If clubs have the buying power, they may throw far too much money after players they desperately want to get. That is nothing new and not up to debate. Transfermarkt looks at a number of variables (age, country, league, international status, performances etc.) and put a value on that. Much like UEFA decides how many points are added to a country's coefficient if a team beats e.g. the champions of Azerbaidshan, Israel or France in a European competition.

The reality when it comes to fees paid or demanded is more often than not different from these "hypothetical values", but you have to look at some sort of basis to start with.

No more crazy than the Arabs were to sell two players to their cup final opponents six weeks before the final. Now that is absolutely barking.

It does help if you have a manager who was a) an ex-player of the buying team and b) a manager who makes money from such deals. How the SFA and SPFL looked away on such tribalism is beyond parody. And you do wonder what the Arabs' support made of all that.

Obviously, Hibs have a full season ahead of them and 4 weeks of a transfer window left to find replacement. The Yahoos, back then, broke the backbone of their opponents, who had next to no chance to do something before the cup games.

Allan played the full 95 mins in Hibs' 2-1 loss in Dumbarton today.

Been told by mates who have Dumbarton ST's that he was posted missing for the duration. Looks like he has downed tools. Hibs & Stubbs are between a rock and a hard place. We should withdraw our latest two offers.:giruy:

If he was posted missing for 95 minutes you'd have to wonder why Stubbs didn't sub him? Strange!
