If true we could cut massive costs by abandoning a youth policy as there seems to be no hope for the youngsters if we just keep signing English ones.

 

It's a fair point but I think most at the club realise the youth system has been poor and that's why we've struggled to get any players into the first team.

 

We're in the process of rebuilding it so it may take another year or two before we start to see the fruits of our labour. Only issue is will the likes of Gilmour and Burt hang around?

Rangers are eyeing a move for Motherwell midfielder Chris Cadden, though they face stiff competition from English Premier League sides Sunderland and West Ham.

 

Brighton are also said to be interested in the 20-year-old, who recently signed a contract extension until 2019. (Scottish Sun)

Cadden evidently has a bit of quality but I have honestly never noticed him. I've apparently seen him play this season but had to check back. Never even knew he existed until this thread. Must start paying attention.
