Well who's next

Wilson swithering?

Some had said he'd rejected it earlier in the week so no idea to be honest.

You would think the DoF would pick (with approval from the board) the manager so it's perhaps just contractual delays.

if he is knocking us back it would be nice if he hurried up so we could get on with things! I don't want to hurry for the sake of it, but this is beginning to drag a bit. You get the impression that they thought we'd have things sorted by now.

You could read it a number of ways. It could be dragging-on because actually the Board have got their first pick for DOF but need to agree compensation with their current employers. Or a more negative spin is that their first pick has rejected and they're on to their 4th or 5th pick. But you could argue that process would actually be quicker as presumably they've sounded peoples' interest out before making moves for them.

You'd think DOF would have to approve manager, so its possibly all linked and them wanting to make an announcement in one go.

If you take the more positive view about the delays, it could explain why there's still not been a move to appoint an interim boss.

But who knows! I'm in the camp that is quite excited about change and that the board appear to be trying something new, albeit with a long-term plan/idea again.

What about all the Brazilian players who come over to Portugal & get Portuguese passports ? They don't require work permits

Like to think this is one option Caixinho would think about if he gets the job.

It works differently in Portugal - I think they somehow get dual citizenship.

I think we will make a mistake by appointing Perdo Caixinha it looks like he does not have any success in management and looks to have had as many clubs as some of the hack golfers I have seen on Whitecraigs golf course on a sunday morning , get a british manager in charge at least there will be no language barrier .

Did you not read the interview with Weiss where he confirmed he has perfect English ?

His bullfighting interview on this link will dispel any concerns about his English. Speaks better English than most British based managers.

Exactly. I've seen that criticism a few times -- not so much on here, but elsewhere -- and it's completely baseless.

what was that exactly?

Possession, high tempo, short slick passing, always looking forward/attacking - putting the opposition on the back foot.

Ultimately it wasn't executed at all well in the top league, but hopefully the new boss can continue with that way, but be more adaptable to the developing situations.

Just to add to the speculation circus...

Al-Gharafa have published the following statement: ‘Pedro Caixinha denied the existence of negotiations with him to take over the responsibility of training the team Glasgow Rangers, stressing that he has a contract with Al-Gharafa and there’s no truth at all to it.’

http://sportwitness.co.uk/no-truth-caixinha-rangers-talks-rubbished-qatari-club-manager-denies-talks/

Of course this could just be the usual football club/agent smoke and mirrors trick, covering over what is actually going on.
