NO matter what has happened in the past with rookie managers , the simple fact is for this to work we need to get every summer signing spot on , we need winners and players desperate to succeed .

Plus if this appointment doesnt get the players currently at Ibrox excited and up for it then nothing will

It looks as though there are a number of positives about having SG as manager.  He will be demanding, a good motivator and have the respect of the players.  He may also be a factor in convincing transfer targets to come to Ibrox when otherwise they would not be interested in trying out Scottish football, though the main factor in new signings tends to be money.  The unknown with Gerrard is whether tactically he will be an astute manager, can he forge his method of playing on the players and can he see the need to change formation when it is needed.  Having listened to him commenting on BT sport it is difficult to assess with any great certainty how insightful he is in analysing a game though I tended to think Lampard's comments were a touch more astute.

Ah but now Liverpool have turned us into a feeder team

In all seriousness, it would be good to see one quality loan from Liverpool who will walk into the team rather than taking up space on the bench, but hopefully no more than one! Let's not turn into Aberdeen who need to re-construct their squad every season because they are so reliant on other people's players for success. Not sustainable.

It'll be good to get the press conference out of the way today as I'm hoping to get some work done next week!

I thought accountants were capable of concurrent activity?

Which activity are you remiss upon, counting or grinding the bean?

After being married for 25 years, it's certainly not the grinding. :D
