Fortunately, Charlie Ridiculous was a sublime footballer. Over the decades he has put quite an effort into maintaining his 'Ridiculous' soubriquet. Thirty-five years past, he was holidaying in Ibiza when on a night on the town he decided to steal a chip from a young female fellow tourist. Lori McElroy was an Undergraduate Law student from East Kilbride. She told him to move on because, "I am not impressed". Charlie was a Sellik superstar and slapped Lori. She returned and took out a civil action against Charlie. He was convicted on a charge of assault and fined £1,200 and ordered to pay costs. Twenty-odd years past the then retired Charlie took to Scotland on Sunday to tell us he was a Businessman and as such, "ah love a profit". He was in partnership with Jim Milligan, a friend of the notorious McGovern family. They had half-a-dozen bars in west, central Scotland operating under the name, 'Cafe Cini'. Essentially, wine bars with the added attraction of big breasted waitresses. In the same interview, Charlie waxed lyrical about his favourite all time film, 'Goodfellas' and how it was filled with sage business acumen. You may remember the character in the movie that owned the established restaurant? He could not get the wise guys to pay their bills and made representation to Paulie, the local Goodfella Boss. He offered a partnership and immediately the eatery was being utilised for ordering everything wholesale on credit. Fur coats, crates of spirits and, lobsters went through the front door and out the back to be sold on. Six months later the restaurant was bankrupt and the Joe Pesci character set it alight for insurance. Cafe Cini in Greenock burnt down, followed the next month with Cafe Cini in Union Street, Glasgow being closed for several months unpaid drinks deliveries. Charlie was in the High Court alone, he did not know the whereabouts his partner, Jim Milligan. The speculation was Jim had absconded to the Republic of Ireland and taken up partnerships with Slab and Mex' Murphy. Santa Ponca hosts a couple of bars where the Patrons are replete in ponchos and balaclavas. The PF took the view Charlie was a Patsy, he had lost his entire investment and was expected to come to an arrangement to cover outstanding debts. The McGovern family told Charlie to leave the country. SKY offered Charlie a platform for constant daft Bhoyness and Charlie has never disappointed.4 points

Indeed. How they completely missed the fact that throwing us out of the SPL would see us applying for membership of the SFL by the existing rules and entering the 3rd Division was another complete and utter failure. What makes it even worse is that -after breaking SPL rules - they wanted to force the SFL to break their own rules and place us in the 1st Division. When they hold firm, they started a revolt amongst SFL clubs and disbanded the SFL "for the sake of the greater good of Scottish football" and re-invented the pyramid system (which the formation of the SPL (including our vote) ended - for the greater good of the big clubs ... That is all so bizarre ... and even worse, to this day, the clubs all go along with it.1 point

Scottish football dug its own commercial grave in 2012 when the football authorities allowed clubs to put Rangers in SFL31 point

Fullbacks are not able to get stop all crosses coming in. None of our best were able to do that, and none today will be able to do that. It is somewhat "interesting" that Barisic is being somewhat put under the microscope, while Tavernier gets a way with far worse - from a defensive point of view. Against Hearts he missed a long diagonal ball towards Mackay, who then turned him inside out and send a shot away that hit the outside of the post. A bit later, he let another chap slip in behind him in the area, who then managed to send a cross into the 6-yard box who was met with a weakish header. The game afterwards, Tavernier had about 50 % of his crosses hitting the first man. "But his overall play" and all that doesn`t really cut it with me. And if he`s the reason that out best prospect and talent ventures to pastures new, well well ... Anyway, this is the transfer thread and we can do our opinionating about this or that play elsewhere. I just hope that our main assets will all go for no less than 10m - hopefully 10m plus. Obviously, I hope that none leaves and we snatch 56, as that will set us very straight financially, with all the guaranteed CL income.1 point

I've heard that the compliance officer is from "good stock". One wonders how he managed to sneak under Peter's radar?1 point
