The Union Bears pyro display on both banks of the River Clyde in the wake of our 55th title cannot be beaten. Glasgow's tourist bureau should utilise the scenes in their foreign presentations. Having organised and presented the best, I would prefer in the sprit of Ultra competition they would refrain from future attempts within stadiums. The Union Bears should welcome the chase. As attempted in the original post, Rangers supporters come to the party and the pile on begins and continues unfettered. The Ultras culture includes many military characteristics; unity, discipline, orders, ....... and uniform. The Union Bears support the club thus the smart move would be to refrain this weekend and allow the Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen Ultras to fill the vacuum. It is a win-win for all Rangers supporters, do the Union Bears have the discipline and tactical nous?5 points

Just get the Union Flags out - nothing looks better than a sea of red, white and blue Britishness!4 points

I'm hoping so, but they'll not want to be "out-done" by Hearts Ultras. Unless the UBs have something else up their sleeves, there will be flares a plenty. Oh, and any excuse to post this video again.3 points

That would be the ideal scenario, but unlikely! I'm sure all 4 groups will have them as they'll be attempting to out-do each other. When it's come to displays, the UBs are well ahead of other Scottish groups. The pyros on the Clydeside will take a lot of beating.3 points

At - last years ELSF against RB Leipzig at ibrox . The celebrations at the end in the SJ rear will live with me forever. Not at - more difficult. Beating Leeds Utd away in the CL probably. It was an exceptional result & silenced more than a few2 points

I have posted before about the good fortune of being a fifteen year old schoolboy and my old man taking me to Barca' in 1972, a truly magical three days. I missed the 5-1 mauling of ra Sellik at Ibrox in September'88. I was in Oman and it was operational. On the Yemen border leading a recce patrol, we harboured up and set out two OPs. Stagging on during the silent hours, my signaller had rigged an ariel to receive the BBC World Service. It was most unprofessional, I had one ear pod secured listening Paddy Feeny's sports desk. He was a wonderful broadcaster and knew how to tease. He began by telling us there had been a six goal thriller at Ibrox then, played six dozen second commentary sequences of each goal. Of course, the green'n'grey hooped horrors notched first and I thought we have lost 0-6. Even after the fourth sequence informed we had gone 3-1, I thought at least the worst will be 3-3. When Rangers fifth was relayed I indulged in the loudest and longest silent scream. I lapsed into further unprofessional behaviour(almost Bootneck behaviour) and imagined myself in the Enclosure bouncing and hugging fellow Bears.2 points

I'm hoping the hobo, sheep and Hearts Ultras all use pyrotechnics but we don't. The media response would be fascinating.2 points

Why has the use of flares suddenly become an issue? Its it because it was our fans? Fans of all clubs use them and this is first time I've heard of police / politicians summits etc. The Groon Brigade released a statement the other day that alluded to the Celtic board encouraging them to use flares - where is the uproar at this? Is this just a convenient distraction from the very public Goon Brigade v Celtic board public spat? Will be interesting to see if there are any at either of this weekends Semi-Finals and how it's reported in the press as all 4 clubs have a very active "ultras" following.2 points

Other than Mark Hateley, has there ever been a better old fashioned Rangers centre forward in recent times than big DJ?1 point

At - Cup final 2009, 1-0 v Falkirk, Novo with the goal. First cup final I managed to get tickets to and was old enough to fly myself to Scotland. Perfectly sat behind, directly in line with Novo's strike. Not at - 2002 Cup Final, 3-2, Ferguson and Lovenkrands. I didn't have Sky TV at home and my best mate's parents just go it and invited me round to watch it. Living in England, it was the first chance I had to watch Rangers in a cup final, live on TV. Remember going absolutely mental when Lovenkrands scored the winner1 point

At - beating that lot 1 - 0 at Hampden SCSF* after Joe the dip dived to get Robertson sent off. Pissed all night, they hit post and bar, bears never stopped singing. Not at - Helicopter Sunday, how could it be anything else?. I was working a 10hr shift, never took it off as no one seen it coming. Had a cast on my leg after breaking my foot playing 5s, had to jump the wall to get into the cross keys as the polis had told them to not let anyone else in. * Destroying PSV in the CL at Ibrox pushed it close.1 point

At - October 1994 first OF game. Celtic 1-3 Rangers. Laudrup and Hateley ripped them apart at Hampden (while Parkhead was being rebuilt). Not At - Helicopter Sunday May 2005. Just finished a job on the Azerbaijan Georgia border and just got to Baku in time but couldnt choose what bar I could go to and ended up in a pub full of Celtic expat fans and workers. Incredible bounce on a sofa and table and somehow made it out. Partied for 2 days then flew to Heathrow spending the flight in the toilet all the way.1 point

Some big games for certain teams this weekend. Man Utds players will tell everyone they arent with the manager if they dont respond at Fulham. The game at Goodison is quite tasty, Everton starting to get the odd result and they will stay up no problem this season as they are easily better then the bottom 4. Brighton being in the Europa is testing them a bit and are having the odd off day that they didnt have last season so its a tough one to call. And Sheff Utd have to win at some point. Im going for: Fulham 0-1 Man Utd Brentford 0-2 West Ham Burnley 0-0 Crystal Palace Everton 1-1 Brighton Man City 5-0 Bournemouth Sheff Utd 1-0 Wolves Newcastle 3-2 Arsenal Nottm Forest 0-2 Aston Villa Luton 0-4 Liverpool Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea1 point

Is there any way we can bring this in safely and legally. It is a fantastic spectacle, but it has to be done safely.1 point

I thought it looked good. The delay, assisted by the fire alarms at Dens Park, was unfortunate. Comparing standard Ultra imagery with what the GBs are up to is strange. All Ultras love a flare up, a tifo and a few flags. Not all Ultras celebrate acts of terrorism, display hanging effigies of certain religious groups, pretend to be foreign and wave religious symbols. Not unsurprising that the Scottish press would choose to focus on one as much as the other though, is it.1 point
