Nope, Tavernier decent right back, but not a wing back or a midfield player. And a team full of right backs is just a silly idea......3 points

For what it's worth I don't like Guardiola's influence on football at all. Watching the defence play it up and down the line 3 times to play it back to the keeper is mind numbing.3 points

Having said all that, I'm kind of dreading the season ahead unless we can bring in better quality players!.2 points

I agree - results are meaningless in pre-season. I wasn't expecting us to win today, but I was expecting a goal or two against their children - or at least a good few chances.2 points

Neither Ridvan nor Lawrence are good enough to play left midfield or left wing back in my humble opinion.2 points

Wright and Dessers - garbage. Barron - good attitude but needs to reign in the long balls. Diomande - looks off it. Jefte - all over the place. Sterling - very good.2 points

Only thing I disagree with is persevering with Lawrence. The boy can't run. That and I'd like Danilo to get some time with the first XI. Hopefully the boys switch on and look well drilled!2 points

I am very happy to say I was wrong about that. Even the demented have moments of clarity.2 points

I get downhearted every time I see Scott Wright mentioned.2 points

We beat West Ham 3-1 at Ibrox last preseason!. We lost 2-0 to Man UTD today!. I fail to see what preseason matches results matter! it's all about getting fit, and working on formations, getting minutes on the pitch. We knew before todays match what players we have, and a few players returning from long term injuries, new players coming in!. No bearing on our season ahead at all.1 point

Some of those lads were playing for Forest Green and Burton too. Not exactly megastars.1 point

Barron looked slightly better than Raskin. I've seen enough of Dessers for one lifetime. His daft rolling about in the first few seconds epitomised his entire performance today - a truly awful footballer, who acts like he wants to be everybody's best pal (the Man Utd players didn't even acknowledge him and I don't blame them). Here's hoping Danilo can make the No.9 role his ASAP.1 point

We saw the good and bad of both Dessers and Wright. Cannot understand why McAusland is not our first choice RW. Thing I enjoyed most was the input from John Brown.1 point

I like Barron and Diomande. If we're sticking with a #10 there's a spot for Hagi.1 point

So 3-4-3 with a left wingback (or left back in midfield) and bo right wingback? Interesting.1 point

I quite enjoyed that 1st half, considering the opposition!. Jefte up against a very tricky/good player but he won't face that every week, looks promising, with more game time he looks like he can improve and will need to. Cortese looks promising as well, after a long time out with injury, promising as well and him & Cortese will need time to gel. I liked the pace/tempo we started with up against a quality team. Cracking goal we conceded. I also thought Lawrence did well. Barron looks good as well.1 point

Some people really do hurt when Wright has a good game ... Amad scores ... he wasn't good enough back in the day for many punters too. 🤪1 point

Great control and cross, then a shot at goal from Wright, hopefully Ten hag sees the obvious quality that is obvious to us ,and signs him for 10m.1 point

That dog don't hunt. Cold hard fact is he is not an SPL type of player. No way a 23(?) year old guy in the 2nd div, on the up, with offers across Europe would go to the SPL. The SPL gets three types of guys. Players who want a shot (lack of playing time, injury), a lower league upstart (Eastern Europe, Americas), or cats on the way down the ladder because of injury or age. What the SPL do not get are dudes like Morgan. Ask yourself, why do we always seem to pay such a high salary and long contract terms? Cause you have to over incentivize dudes to go to Scotland. If I were his agent I would Rochambeau his ass if he even mentioned an SPL club. Just bein honest.1 point

Yep, agree, but at least City can suddenly blizzard the penalty box with serial attacks left right and centre.1 point

And poor 1-0 wins and a lucky OF win will see England NT levels of expectation and a statue for Philippe. I cant control that. I'll judge them on performances.1 point

With all due respect, what makes you think Ridvan and Lawrence will suddenly give us decent returns? Also, only Jefte or Ridvan will play, so both won't give decent returns. Danilo missed as many chances as Dessers and is returning from a bad injury. Are you suggesting Danilo comes straight into the team ahead of Dessers? If we sell Dessers (a possibility) and then have Danilo leading the line, I'd suggest that's a huge gamble.1 point

You can't be far from me then. The funny thing is, I'll be in Germany watching us next Saturday! Currywurst Loyal1 point

Usually everyone is keen to see new faces when pre-season starts but due to the the lack of transfer activity this time, even that aspect is severely dulled. I'll watch the game tomorrow but suspect I'll probably spend 50% of the time fannying about on my phone and sticking albums on. And I have a real hatred for Man Utd - horrible club.1 point
