  1. We should have been hammered today, Arsenal missed a plethora of good chances! it was a friendly against a top quality team so can't grumble too much. The biggest thing for me was our lack of ball retention! over hit passes! under hit passes! however again it's pre season rustiness, the result is meaningless. Bassey had a good game and Patterson played well apart from that it was a typical friendly match. EDIT, I am putting comas in but they are not showing!!

  2. Bassey and Patterson were the stand-outs, for me. The rest were poor. Big Itten scored again. He deserves a start now.

  4. I remind you of David Coleman? I demand satifaction. Rapiers or Pistols, I give you the choice.

  5. That reminded me of the time David Coleman referred to Asa Hartford - without irony - as a 'whole-hearted player.'

  9. No, it's not "take a touch at your peril", Andy, it's take a better touch; control, pass, quickly, and don't dilly-dally. I hate that attitude: this team are pressing, so let's just hoof it! Nope.

  11. I'd rather see Itten play than Defoe. Is Defoe really going to play much this season? At least give Itten the chance to claim a starting spot--If Morelos is leaving, that is.

  14. I have no issue if Goldson does as the article alludes to , he is perfectly entitled to do so , and IMHO has never let us down , infact last year was as good from a central defender as I can remember in my life time following our magnificent club .

  16. I attended the '73 Arsenal game. It was a most humid evening, the official attendance was given as 80,000. The price of entry mirrored 1873, thus one shilling(as Decimalisation has just occurred - five new pence). Most in attendance suspected the crowd was touching 100,000. I remember Parlane's spectacular goal and Alan Ball receiving dogs abuse throughout. He took it well and near the end of the game, took the ball into the corner and played keepie-up. He was cheered.
