    Do people actually think that would be good? Purslow has a private equity background which isn't necessarily the background that I'd want our CEO to have.

    You could use the same argument against virtually every song that's sung by our support as well. If the argument that you are using worked then Rangers fans would be able to sing TBB with impunity at most games (UEFA not withstanding). I don't really want to get into the effectiveness of the OBA but I can't believe that the police can't arrest people for making sectarian chants at games and not make it stick, under some sort of legislation.

    I'd be surprised if Blin agreed to become FD. He would not want to be taking what would be a big step down at this point in his career. It's not that difficult to find people who could fulfil the role adequately (perhaps even someone on this thread ) so again I don't see why he would need to take it on a temporary basis. Even if King was Chairman, Blin would make an excellent NED.

    I tend not to go onto RM these days, and haven't read the thread on FF. You're always going to get criticism from RM, no matter what you do. If people do want the meeting expanded then the people that they should be criticising are McColl and Murray. One problem that the RST do have is an impression (perhaps unfairly) that the RST are on the side of Murray and McColl and therefore anything that shows them in a bad light will not be reported. That should be kept in mind when deciding what questions to ask and what to include in the minutes.

    To be fair, there's been minimal negative comments. I'd say that the silence from most could be taken as being a positive response. Is it not the rule that if you haven't got anything bad to say about the RST, you should shut up?

    AMMS and BH, I'm not sure what points you are trying to make. Are you trying to argue that Rangers fans have not been dealt with more harshly than other fans over the past 5-10 years or just that we haven't been since March of last year?

    Over what time period? Edit - are you suggesting that many more Celtic fans have been charged than Rangers fans in the last 12 months?

    As I said, things have been improving over the last 12 months or so but one swallow does not make a summer.

    The Rangers fans did cut out virtually all the offending stuff 2 or 3 years ago. At the same time Celtic fans carried on with their pro-IRA and their hun stuff and nothing was done about it. This resulted in a kick-back from a section of our support and some of the songs came back in. There has been a large element of only going after the Rangers fans and I'm surprised that you suggest that it's head in the sand to suggest that. The fact that it's only this year that the Thistle fans have been asked to stop their FTP and FTQ line when they have been doing it with impunity for many, many years proves the point. Perhaps it is changing slightly with your example and the GB have been under pressure as well, which is good to see, but it's going to take a lot more evidence to suggest that there's a level playing field.

    I understand that there is a section of our support who don't agree with the singing of these songs but does every such thread have to be hijacked and turned into a "we shouldn't sing the songs" thread rather than discussing the issues raised in the OP?

    Don't remember that. I remember SDM, Findlay and mcClelland doing it but don't ever recall a non-director doing it but it may have been at an AGM that I wasn't at.

    Perhaps neither Stockbridge or Easdale fancy chairing a PLC AGM. Not the easiest thing to do if you have hundreds of people attending.

    Looking at the Companies Act: - A Public Company must have a minimum of 2 directors - An AGM must be held within 6 months of the year-end, ie 31 December - Notice of an AGM would normally be 21 days I don't believe that AIM rules add any additional requirements on these 3 issues.

    It was definitely sung during the 90s. I don't recall it being sung earlier than this though.

    I have sympathy with that view, but it's not Ally's job to know whether the club can or can't afford his salary. Was his salary excessive for a club getting crowds of 45,000 every week? The club have made a thing about us being in the top 15 or so biggest supported clubs in Europe. Are any of the managers of these other clubs in that groups getting paid ;ess than Ally? I know we were playng in the 4th tier and there are arguments against the above paragraph (and I don't support it myself) but I'm just putting it in to show that it can be looked at in a different way and it could be the way that Ally looked at it.

    I think that the difference is that they are awarding themselves the salaries, whereas Ally didn't.

    I don't see the relevance of Ally's salary. The people accountable for his salary are the directors' date=' not Ally himself. Walter also backed the proposal that Mather should be sacked so I'm at a loss to know what he really thinks about Mather. As for Ally, he also backed Green and look how that turned out. the fact that he backs the guy who sanctions his spending on players doesn't mean a whole lot. Ally would back Mather if he gave him £10m to spend. It doesn't mean that it's in the club's best interests, and therefore Ally has a conflict of interest. Both Ally and Walter also backed SDM to the hilt.

    I vaguely recall some emails floating around on CF that discussed the pay-out and I thought Easdale was copied in. The pay-off being agreed doesn't necessarily correspond with Green coming off the board anyway. However that is why I asked the question. There are others on here who follow CF a lot closer than I do.
