There's been very litle speculation and the fact that the club have issued a statement is very telling. Read the above as "Please come and get Lee Wallace as we need the the cash to help plug the gap until sseason ticket cash comes in,"
-
Chibmark didn't mention singing specifically or that the UB make reference to terrorists in the post that I quoted. That was you later on. Edit - maybe don't bother replying to this Andy as it's turning into a debating point rather than anything else and these can get boring for everyone else, and we are moving away from the main point of the thread. We have both made our points and we should leave it like that.
-
Are you really comparing anti-independence banners with pro-IRA banners?
-
The GB sing about the IRA - The UB's sing about the UVF/YCV The GB require political indoctrination before you can join - The UB's sing about the UVF/YCV The GB have brought in numerous IRA referencing banners into Parkhead - The UB's sing about the UVF/YCV The GB bring a banner with a convicted IRA terrorist's face on it - The UB's sing about the UVF/YCV The GB refuse to have a minutes's silence around Armistice Sunday and refer to the poppy as "bloo stained" (sic) - The UB's sing about the UVF/YCV The GB smash up loads of seats at Fir Park - The UB's sing about the UVF/YCV Hmmm. I'm finding it hard to see how they are as bad as each other which was what my point was in post 14. I'm not sure why you are only focusing on one aspect when there's so much more to the Green Brigade than singing.
-
No, that's not really the point and if you genuinely think the UBs are every bit as bad as the GB then you've a strange way of looking at things, not withstanding the issue that the UBs are open to criticism as you've pointed out. Are you really trying to argue that everyone who has ever sung the add-on to BMG is every bit as bad as the GB?
-
The Union Bears insist on political indoctrination classes before you can join them and have had numerous banners at Ibrox celebrating terrorists who killed countless UK citizens? No? Then I'd suggest that the UBs are nothing like the Green Brigade.
-
I'd agree with that but that in itself shouldn't affect people's ability to judge the pros and cons of both parties....in an ideal world.

What a lot of pish. I've been a director of companies that have been dissolved because they're no longer needed. What does that prove. I've been a director of companies that cash has been depleted for lots of reasons such as dividends, loans etc. again it means nothing. I've been a director of a company that has ran up massive losses but other companies within the group made profits due to the way that the group was structured. Someone is out to do a hatchet job that Toxic Jack would be proud of. I'm sure there is stuff that PM can be criticised for but I wouldn't be able to tell from a biased analysis like this.

However it isn't an either/or situation. The issues that they have raised can be addressed but not necessarily in the ways that they have suggested. They can be improved upon.

1. Not sure what ring-fencing is proposed but it is not necessarily a good thing. AMMS makes a good point in post 7 and what happens if we suffered another liquidation. How would the stadium end up with newco? If ownership is transferred away from the club then it's more difficult to control. 2. A good thing, although may be difficult if the fan is given confidential info and is unable to share it. 3. Good in principle but say we get a Mike Ashley type as a director. Does that mean we can't do a deal with Sports Direct, even though they offer us the best deal? I think it's more important to have effective competitive tendering rather than this specific rule. 4. This should apply to all directors and not just Execs. A bit concerned about the line about market bench-marking. Does this mean we have to pay our CEO £1m rather than £300K because that's what Celtic pay? It could cost us cash. 5. Not sure what this means. Does this mean that a guy who owns one share gets to have as much say as an Easdale? 6. There has to be some level of confidentiality on certain matters and it's unrealistic not to accept that. 7. The Murray Group got into trouble because their property deals were all financed by short-term loans. Long term loans may be preferable in certain circumstances. Edit - what's better? A long term loan from a bank or a Ticketus arrangement where we mortgage future years' season ticket money? 8. I'd prefer good Non-Execs to command a reasonable fee rather than fans who are willing to work for nothing. Yes, it's great of they waive their fees but it shouldn't be a prerequisite as we could end up losing talent. All in all, it's something that's put together to try and win fan support but I'm not convinced the "constitution" is commercially sound.

Not sure what's wrong with picking on one bit and discussing it. Surely better than a generic "agree" or just ignoring it. Perhaps it wasn't Andy's intention but I don't think it was clear from the article.

I've gpt criticisms of the UB's but to suggest that they are not all "true" Rangers supporters is out of order.

Daly has scored loads of goals this season. How many times has the Sash been sung immediately after he scored? Just that once? Is it not more likely that the fact that Daly scored had nothing to do with the fact that the Sash was sung? I also find the OP's attempt to lump the Sash in with Super Rangers, songs on the UVF and FTP something similar to the kind of thing Spiers would do.

I would say it's good to have dissenting voices on the site. Makes you question your own views.Keep it up.

Fans meeting analysis – Between a rock and a hard place
Bluedell replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Given they have the former chairman in their camp, it shouldn't be that difficult for them to come up with fairly detailed plans as they should have a lot of inside knowledge. -
Proof? 1. The accounts show the outrageous level of spending by the directors 2. Stockbridge himself confirmed that all the cash raised by the share issue was gone in under 9 months. 3. The video that Stockbridge took and then distributed of a fellow director has been widely seen. 4. The statements issued by the club over the last few months show they aren't fit for office. 5. Easdales - you need to do your own research on them but it's not difficult to find out what they are all about.

To be fair, it was billed as a fans conference and not just a conference to talk about the current directors. Every subject was up for discussion and what's important to you isn't as important to everyone else.

I think this the most accurate statement on this thread. Neither side is behaving particularly impressively, but there is an onus on the club and it's current directors to behave to a higher standard and it's disappointing that the new chairman is allowing sub-standard articles to continue.

Yup. Certainly possible. My reaction to that has always been that I just don't see it though. From everything I know about them and what I've heard, it doesn't seem their style. They would more be the types to have others front for them. Aslo if I was getting people to front for me, the Easdales would not be the ones I'd choose as it could come back and bite me. However as far as our soap opera is concerned, nothing's impossible.
-
Why would the owners of 19% of the company give up their voting rights to the Easdales? I can think of 2 reasons: 1. The Easdales have committed to buy them in the future and this has been been secretly contractually agreed. 2. The Easdales have made an offer to the current holders of the shares that "could not be refused". Are there any other reasons that people can think of?
-
Ally may be sitting at the top table on the day, but presumably he would be asked beforehand to give his proxy vote to the current directors. I'm sure there will be pressure put on him to add his vote to theirs and he may feel that he has to if he wants to keep his job.
-
McCoist can give his proxy to anyone he wants, but what fans would he give it to?

From memory, the club had some available from the previous issue when SDM was in charg and they were able to do it with little cost. Not sure that the same situation still exists, so it may be more difficult for the RST to deal with the club on this as it's possible that much of the cash raised could disappear in costs. However it may be that the RST have got this is hand.
