  1. I don't feel any ill will towards Boyd or Thomson. Good luck to both of them. I'd also say that I DO have an interest in how they get on...albeit not a huge one. For example, I taped the Football league programme for the first time ever. I'll certainly be keeping more of an eye out for the results of Middlesbrough.
  2. 15 of the player smilies are no longer with the club. How about an update, admin? :spl:
  3. I'm going. :robbo:
  4. Not sure what is most depressing. Sitting about not signing anyone, or trying to sign someone and failing? But hey, it's been over 12 weeks since our season ended. Why should we expect the club to get off their backsides and act to ensure we bring in players before the end of our preseason?
  5. The bank will allow installments (it's beneficial to them, why wouldn't they?), but the club will need to be able to show that they can afford it looking at future cashflows under the business plan, and under the assumption of no CL football as you correctly say, Frankie.
  6. Released and signed for Dundalk.
  7. Yeah. Our first team squad with no injuries is not big enough to field a full bench of substitutes.
  8. Only 3 midfielders in our squad plus 3 forwards who can help out in that area. We have replaced Wilson with Webster, but have not replaced Mendes, Boyd, Novo, Smith, Thomson and Beasley but were reassured by the Chairman late last year that we did not need to sell players. Hopefully the club will show me that my football depression is misplaced but it's looking concerning.
  9. Excellent. Well done to all.
  10. Looks a nice site and kudos to those who have set it up.. I look forward to exploring it more fully when I have more time.
  11. A series on Radio Scotland. First one is on Wednesday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00t8dwy However with Tom Devine and Graham Spiers on the first two, I'm not rushing to listen. After been reprimanded and taken off the air by Radio Clyde, it looks like Spiers has had to switch sides (again) to supplement his income. Devine, in case you are wondering, is the one who came up with "We should be calling this for what it is: it isn't sectarianism, it is anti-Catholicism". Yet again BBC Scotland showing its impariality.
  12. Reactions after the result
  13. Yes. Last time I saw an expression like his after the goal was Anton Rogan after his hand ball.
  14. There has been a big difference to the balance sheet following the JJB deal. What would have happened f we had been another £15m in debt? Our merchandising income may have been big (mainly due to the fact that we made our own strips?) but are we making less profit? I don't think so.
  15. We are going to be called by other other clubs who can see the size of our squad and know how desparate that we are. We are short-chipped and our opponents don't mind calling given our chip size. Who knows what we are holding though?
  16. Joe Hart is a lot better than James.
  17. It's just his usual style of writing meaningless stuff when he's shown to be wrong, in an attempt to try and wind up other posters. It's very tedious.
  18. It's clear that AJ is talking about the overall facility with the bank and not the revolving credit facility.
  19. The loan is repayable at £1m per year. There has never been any mention of the credit facility reducing by anyone in the club. See post 28.
  20. Much of the criticism of Bain has been fair, although he appears to have stepped up his game when given more autonomy following SDM standing down as Chairman and has spoken very well whenever he gets the chance. As for the debt, although we make less profit in the second half of the year, we do get in a chunk of the season ticket money for the following season prior to the year end. The year end debt should ben lower than the £27m you mention but that in itself is probably too low as a half year estimate. The accounts normally come out during August, but it was November last year, partly due to the issues with the bank. Who knows when the accounts will be issued this year? It could depend on how successful we are in the transfer market.
  21. There are 2 elements to our finance from the bank. A loan which is being repaid at £1m per annum and an overdraft facility. My reading of it is that we are still repaying the loan at £1m, but the overdraft is subject to the business plan in place which ensures that we will remain within the limits of it in the future. That means that our spending now is done with a view to the worst case scenarios in the future occurring - we lose all of our CL games this season, no European football over the next 4 years and season tickets and attendances fall as well. This could mean that this is severely limiting our current spending, but doesn't mean that the bank are looking at reducing our facilities. It could be that the bank are also looking to reduce our overdraft limit but I don't see that we have enough information to assess the likelihood of that possibility.
  22. 6 league goals in 3 seasons hardly fills me with optimism.
  23. I'm not sure how someone who apparently made 49 appearances for us last season and was one of the poorest paid at the club can be described as luxury we can't afford.
