Delph has just gone to Villa for £6m, so strike him off the list.
-
Smith obviously doesn't fancy him so it's £200K in the bank and £100K off the wage bill. It all helps.
-
Very, very good point!!!!

Do Gersnet mods get a discount then?
-
I believe he does (work harder).

Not all forwards work hard when we have the ball. There were plenty examples of that not happening in the first half of last season. I see Miller chasing back, closing people down etc, and more so than most other forwards. However he may have been under instructions not to do his usual chasing today given his position of being upfront on his own.

Yeah, thought we played well, but I'm still not convinced by Lafferty playing wide (looks unconfortable and struggles for acceleration) and McCulloch in the holding role. He got away with it today, but Thomson made a huge improvement when he came on. Despite my previous comments about Naismith not impressing, he has looked very sharp and mobile in pre-season and must be pushing for a starting slot. very impressive and looks like he may make me eat my words. We still need a new centre half as well. I felt Weir struggled on occasion, and if we do have any cash to spend, that that has to be the position we use it for.

He certainly looks a lot fitter than he did this time last year, which is great to see. Possibly the strangest comment I've ever seen you make. :box:

Just had a look at the photo flashes at the top of their site and there are a few well kent faces there, including Satty and Bobby Singh. just thought I'd given them a mention as Bobby gave me free poppadoms and onions earlier this week! Mr Singhs Loyal.

Yup, definitely benefited. Here's the link to bert's site, which explains it well. http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/

Thanks Andrew. I hadn't understood that before. So the 3rd round draw for the "Champions section" is: Salzburg (AUT) or Bohemian (IRL) v FC Pyunik (ARM) or Dynamo Zagreb (CRO) Zrinjski (BIH) or Slovan Bratislava (SVK) v Olympiakos (GRE) FC Zurich (SUI) v WIT Georgia (GEO) or NK Maribor (SLO) EB/Streymur (FAR) or Apoel (CYP) v Rhyl (WAL) or Partizan (SRB) International Turku (FIN) or Sheriff (MDA) v Slavia Prague (CZE) Hafnarfjordur (ISL) or Aktobe (KAZ) v Maccabi Haifa (ISR) or Glentoran (NIR) Ekranas (LTU) or FK Baku (AZE) v Levski Sofia (BUL) or Sant Julia (AND) Ventspils (LVA) or Dudelange (LUX) v Makedonija Skopje (MKD) or Bate Borisov (BLR) Wisla Krakow (POL) or Levadia Tallinn (EST) v Debreceni (HUN) or Kalmar (SWE) FC Copenhagen (DEN) or FK Mogren (MNE) v Tirana (ALB) The 10 winners of these games then get drawn against each other in the 4th round and the 5 winners then proceed into the group sections. Simples! Looking at it, there's no reason why the league winners from Scotland wouldn't have a good chance of qualifying.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but I lost a lot of respect for him after this:

Make me feel old, ya bassa.

Fourth choice.... let's not forget Moyes.

Can I just say something? GIRFUY

I'm more interested in the extra £3m we get if they get knocked out, plus the severe loss of revenue for them.
-
Thanks Fraser. However I'll stick with my explanation of no TV coverage.
-
I thought the SPL were getting similar amount as they were getting from Setanta? As I have Sky Sports anyway, the price will work out similar as to what it was for me, so I'm not suffering, but it's a nightmare for those who don't.
-
Is there any TV coverage (live or highlights) for this game or are they refusing coverage to try and hide the low crowd that they will get?

Putting the squad through their pre-season paces - a look....

Very interesting, S_A. Thanks for writing that. It would be fascinating to compare the effects of the old Jock Wallace way of doing it to the new methods and see just how much of an improvement there is, given that such things could be measured, I assume. Also, what is the psychological effect of the old sand dunes? Could they help the team mentally? Possibly something that cam't be answered. -
Good spot.
-
Craig, I think he's referring to the fact that BBC Scotland didn't mention the Scottish Cup final in the news.
-
I am totally convinced that's because of Weir and his lack of pace. Replace him with a new centre half and the whole team should play differently.
