  1. Why are we doing this? Is McCoist the best that we can get when Smith leaves?
  2. Yes, that is what I'm saying. we should see a drop this year. the SPL bonuses paid should be nowhere near the bonuses last year (I hope!). Celtic's wage bill has been higher, funded in part with the additional £5m income from season tickets, and the CL income which has allowed to break even. However no CL income and a fall in season tickets could see it become unmanagable. Some of it may be supplemented by selling the likes of Boruc, and possibly McGeady.
  3. Yeah, if you adjust our 2008 figures for the £7m European bonus we paid, it appears that we have a lower wage than them at the moment.
  4. The previous 5 year's season ticket sales have varied between 41,800 and 43,200 so fairly consistent. Celtic's in 2007/8 were over 53,000. Don't know what they were this season.
  5. I only charge £50. Rangers Celtic £m £m 1999 31 15 2000 34 20 2001 33 26 2002 37 33 2003 35 33 2004 30 41 2005 27 37 2006 28 32 2007 24 36 2008 34 39
  6. I'm not aware of any tables which compare club wages.
  7. I'd have been disappointed in him if he had gone for Celtic. Would have shown a lack of ambition. NC, keep spreading the word! Whoever takes it now knows they are SECOND choice.
  8. I don't recall him as being one of the bitter ones though, and has come across as one who saw that he could get away from the whole Mope mentality. What's your views, 26th?
  9. Yeah, noticed that myself. It is obvious that Keevins has decided on Coyle and pressue is starting to build to try and get him. Didn't know he was a family friend. I also noticed the BBC comments yesterday afternoon. Hadn't realised that they had now changed but the job is now done.
  10. Don't mind Man Utd anymore now that chunt Roy Keane has left them.
  11. The titles of the other emails are hilarious.
  12. Wow. That's scary.
  13. is still there?
  14. If it's request time, can we get replaced with ?
  15. Keevins claims that Celtic are going to approach Burnley for Coyle today. Says that Coyle's odds have dropped to 1/2 and Mowbray is 7/4.
  16. Yeah, just saw it there. That lassie couldn't believe what she was hearing.
  17. yeah, 12 months too late for him. Would love it, but can't see him being the answer. Or should I say :spl:
  18. S_A, I think you are correct. Bad news for Scottish football, but our co-efficient is going to get worse over the next few years anyway, I believe.
  19. The rumours that I have heard so far: 1. Curbishley - guy in my work spoke to a celtic reserve team player who go a text on Sunday night saying Strachan was away and Curbishley was lined up. 2. Levein - Another guy in my work spoke to someone on friday night who heard that Strachan was going and Levein had already passed his interview. All to be taken with a pinch of salt.
  20. Who's the guy on the right of the picture next to Liewell?
  21. Aarrgghhh. It's things like this that are SO frustrating. Why is it being done now? Why wasn't it being done 6 weeks ago, or longer? There were only 2 scenarios. Either we win the league or we don't. Plans should be in place for weeks as to what would happen under both scenarios. Players should already have been approached. There's no excuse for not planning ahead. Hopefully it has already been done and they're just not letting on and what Smith is saying isn't actually to be taken at face value.
  22. Back in 1986, before the wonders of technology, Ibrox celebrated as there was a rumour that Walter Kidd had scored for Hearts against Dundee, preventing Celtic from winning the title. The rumours that day were also (sadly) wrong as it was his namesake Albert who scored for Dundee.
  23. I'm sure that they had lined up 2 hours of slagging Strachan off because he isn't "Celtic-minded" and had to have a quick change when they realised that their part in bringing him down had at last succeeded. However obviously congratulating Rangers doesn't appeal to their core listeners and the main contributors. Unfortunately big DJ wouldn't even be aware of the bias as it would go right over his head. It's just the start of a campaign to ensure that the new manager is of the correct relig.., sorry, is "sellic minded".
