  1. I do feel sorry for Greg at times, as many of our support don't realise that his responsibilities aren't what they think they should be but are dictated by the club. I didn't realise he had an assistant, but it was telling that Frankfurt have apparently 6 SLOs, compared to our one. The team needs to be far bigger so that all queries from the support are replied to.
  2. You have to wonder why we aren't already.
  3. 1 AM? AM - Arfield, Tillman, Lawrence, Lowry, Hagi (excluding the wide players)
  4. My burger was nothing like that. It came with cheese, lettuce and a sauce, and I was then asked if I wanted ketchup, brown sauce or mustard, which they put on directly from a bottle. To be fair the roll wasn't the same as the advert, the burger wasn't as thick but it was closer to the advert than it was to Gary's picture. I guess there are different standards in different parts of the ground?
  5. Exactly. Why swap the keepers over the past 2 games? The first choice should have started them both so that the keeper and defence get more practice of playing it out from the back, which Gio obviously wants them to do.
  6. Had a burger today (thanks @rbr) and it was a huge improvement on last season. Made freshly and the quality of the actual burger was a lot better.
  7. Please no. Goldson is a far better option than Souttar, and it's more luck and poor finishing that we didn't lose goals due to Souttar in the last couple of games. Souttar needs games but I'm not sure we should be starting him competitively at the moment.
  8. My most enjoyable were Gothenburg (97) and Seville (22), despite the results. Worst was probably Zurich (96).
  9. Some of the scoring on that was weird. Gave us 8.6 on access to a train station and 1.6 on car parking (out of 10).
  10. I've got a spare for Saturday, if anyone's interested? (FOC)
  11. Is there a sell-on clause in the Bassey transfer? Maybe we don't know but the deal was originally reported as €22m + 5m of addons and a sell-on clause, but it's now €23m + 3.5m of add-ons and no sell-on clause. Was there a renegotiation that have us slightly more upfront, changed the nature of the add-ons (perhaps got rid of unrealistic ones) and the sell-on clause disappeared as part of that?
  12. @ian1964should write back to BBC London and tell them that he was correct in his complaints as BBC Scotland have admitted wrong-doing and that their complaints system isn't for for purpose.

    Catering

Following Levy UK taking over the catering at the stadium from Elior, and promising a "innovative" menu, I decided to try the stadium food. The menu consisted of a burger, hot dog, scotch pie, steak pie and macaroni pie. Hardly innovative and less of a choice than was offer last season. I asked for a burger and was told that they didn't have them on last night, so reluctantly settled for a steak pie. My vegan daughter went for a packet of crisps. On the plus side, water is now an option as a drink. The steak pie was tasty enough but not that warm. Perhaps the menu may become more expansive but given there weren't any burgers and they were being advertised, it seems to suggest that the menu will be unchanged in the near future. I'll not be rushing back and will revert to the vans outside the stadium if I'm looking for food.
  14. But that gives the full game, in case you wanted to see the full half hour that you missed. 🤷‍♂️
  15. Link to the RTV coverage on Youtube in this FF post: That second goal | FollowFollow.com
  16. A positive and surprising statement. Hopefully we can move on without their bias showing.
  17. So basically you missed the good part of the game?
  18. They seemed to be saying it was hand ball. I thought the keeper was blocked.
  19. We looked at lot more creative after going to a 4-2-3-1 after the break. Another Gio tactical adjustment pays dividends.
  20. Owned by Tony Bloom, who also owns Brighton. Got promoted, with last season being their first in the top division for 49 years. Finished top of the table, then ended up 2nd after the play-off. Got a couple of English players who don't look up to much.
  21. Is there another city in the world where the ruling party of the city council do not have a single supporter of the city's biggest club?
  22. I thought he was interested in coming but we didn't bid enough.
  23. Yeah, the various issues put me off buying it.

    Finances

Good to see you back on the site, mate. We made losses of £22m in 2021 and £16m in 2020, so with the European run, the sale of Paterson and the Gerrard compensation, we hopefully made a small profit in 2022. However for the 22/23 season we are potentially looking at a loss close to £10m even after accounting for the guaranteed European group stages, and that has to be funded, partly through last season's (hopefully) profit and player sales. It's presumed that the funding from the directors has finished, or will only be loans going forward so we don't have that as we had over the last 5 or so years. In short, we are still inherently loss making, and will need to fund it through player sales. We're not in danger of going out of business but we'll probably not be able to invest a proportion of any player sales. The new FFP rules could also make it more difficult for us. We're not skint, but we still have watch every penny.
