  1. No, we know exactly what McGillivan is and does, and that leaves no chance of it being based on truth. The odds against such a complex matter coinciding by accident with McGillivan's spoutings is, frankly, astronomical, to the extent I think it can safely be discounted.
  2. How about letting members create a footer - sure they can clutter up a forum but that's because some sites allow unlimited images. Let's introduce some more expression and keep it to (say) 250 characters max?
  3. He'll probably end up at the Bheast Byre and you have to say he would look like an excellent partner for Hooper. Dammit.
  4. The commitment of their owners is at the root of their better financial position. Our's started to crumble as soon as it became obvious Dirty Dave had lost that commitment, not that he ever really had a commitment to anything other than his own reflected glorification. Vain bastard.
  5. Our skintness is well known to all. As they say on the Street, it should have already been factored into everyone's thinking. Frankly, anyone who listens to bullshit, swallows it and re-interprets it into a wish list deserves all the frustration coming their way. Eirther we start targeting players that no one should be interested in, including Rangers, or we accept that we are unable to compete for signatures .... and since every other club knows this too we really are at the end of every queue.
  6. Unfortunately a lot of legislation isn't exactly defined. It is intentionally open to interpretation and requires case law to establish precedent and to define the boundaries, which is what is happening here. just because you're investigated, doesn't mean you are guilty or even that you intentionally sailed close to the wind. Neither does intentionally adhering to the best professional tax advice mean that you casnnot later be prosecuted for following that same advice if interpretation of the law subsequently shifts the goalposts. Just the way it is.
  7. Hibs 0 Rangers 6 Bugger it, unbounded optimism might not alter the eventual score but it sure feels good at the time. Cyber beers all round if I'm right, Craig's round.
  8. I will go against my own inclinations here and say that I think this is one occasion when Rangers should maintain a strict embargo on newsflow. I would like as much clarification as the next guy but I can well undertand why public statements could be very unhelpful to what must be a hugely complex investigation. remember, above all this is an HMRC play, not a Rangers one and it would be downright disrespectful if Rangers were to be seen to attempt manipulation of the situation by engaging in public debate .... whether that was their intention or not. I'm fearful of the consequences if this goes wrong for us but my money would be on a largely benign outcome. HMRC is continually fishing and pushing at the boundaries of what the courts will sanction them to do, which is really the only way it can ever achieve working clarity in the face of increasingly opaque legislation. It doesn't necessarily mean that HMRC expect to win, it's just how they have to operate in circumstances where the legistation requires structuring by case law. I certainly wouldn't give a moment's credence to anything McGobblegiver says or prints. That bastard is on a mission driven by pure bigotry and those who willing provide his platform (Radio Clyde, NOTW, etc) are doing so with their eyes open. His lies depend entirely on the 'no smoke without fire' attitude expressed elsewhere in this thread - don't give him the satisfaction.
  9. that's not really the issue here though. I agree that we probably do have a severe tax problem and that it could well sink us for a long time to come. But if McGillivan turns out to be right it won't be because he knows one thing more than you or me. He's speculating in order to big himself up in the bheast community and to have a pop at Rangers. And he's doing it by heaping lies on innuendo. That's what pisses me off, not that he might end up being right.
  10. Does this help to put the lying little scrote's claims into perspective............. Dear Mr ***** Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write to our Chief Executive Martin Bain who has asked me to reply on his behalf with regard to the journalist Phil Mac Giolla Bhain. We are aware of this journalist and the contemptible nonsense he writes regarding Rangers Football Club and his ravings are subject to scrutiny by our legal advisors. Please also note the journalist in question is not an accredited journalist at Ibrox Stadium and any action we took would be as a consequence of legal scrutiny and advice received. Thank you for your email and for your continued support of Rangers Football Club. Yours sincerely Carol Patton Rangers Press Office
  11. Not one word that comes out of that rhat's mouth or from his pen should be given even a shred of credibility. He will fabricate anything to bolster his hatred for Rangers and has done so on many occasions. This is NOT a journalist, this is a rabid taig, end of.
  12. You can't ignore the money the respective clubs spent when reaching that conclusion but, regardless, it's just wrong on all counts to hold a grudge against a Rangers manager. We should hold them in the highest esteem for their contribution .... it's the same for Bill Struth or Davie White, they all played their part in the Rangers story. Edit - and Martin O'Neil is nothing but a rancid little fenian dwarf. Comparing him favourably to a true blue like Alex McLeish is simply unacceptable..... and certainly unjustified. Remember, Rangers first, in all ways.
  13. Gotcha - thanks. Will have a look at the BBC website for the final score.
  14. What time is it now?
  15. That's the thing though, he made you miserable then but he shouldn't now. That's in the past. Now we can afford to be more generous. I couldn't refer to an ex manager of Rangers as an idiot, it's disrespectful and entirely unnecessary. Sorry, just the way I see it.
  16. I think you miss the point. No one posted more please for Eck to go than I did when he was manager. I was desperate to see the back of him. But you see the point here is that he actually left years ago and is no longer a misfiring Rangers manager. Now he's just an ex-manager of Rangers and that allows us to show more respect for what he did achieve, which was actually considerable. When they go we should try to forgive, if not forget, and we can afford to be generous, perhaps even more generous than he might strictly deserve. That makes us better people.
  17. What a sad, fucked up country. This decision must vindicate and give hope to every feminist catholic black gay dwarf ginger islamist malcontent longing to be a victim. Ffs don't say what you think in this country because around the corner will be some big-eared bastard desperate to be offended. I hope when I'm eighty, someone gives me a gun for my birthday because I just might feel I've nothing to lose.
  18. I was desperate to see Eck leave Rangers because it was obvious a new man stood a better chance of being able to fund the players we definitely needed. Who thought we'd be in the state we were just a few months later with the French schoolboy. Otherwise, Eck was a manager in the making and we probably didn't see the best of him. I think he's done a decent enough job at Birmingham tbh.
  19. Ain't that the truth!
  20. Ha ha, I like your style. A few private comments about a female official have turned into justifiable condemnation of half the human race. I applaud the breadth of your integrity (just don't let my wife hear us)
  21. Soti could be erratic but he had some great games for us. Looked like a lunatic, sometimes played like one too, but he could put a shift in when he wanted. I've certainly seen a lot worse lauded at Ibrox.
  22. If I'm totally honest, I've no time for discrimination ... I hate all bheasts equally, no matter their sex, race or colour. Each one of them is as despicable as the next as far as I'm concerned. I also extend this hand of equality to the entire immigrant Oirish and catholic communities across Scotland who, in my eyes, are as fucked up as each other. May they all lose the benefit of gravity and float off into oblivion..... with all due equality of course.
  23. Just for the sake of decency, someone should mention Corky Young - after all he did play in the best defence this country has ever seen.
  24. And a female ref would have given offside ... Cos of course they're faking useless!
  25. Genius! I'd managed to forget about the fox in the fucking box. Was there ever a more useless tosser at Ibrox? Olivier Bernard, will you ever forgive me?
