Well posted Gribz, that's who we are and should never have allowed ourselves to be bullied out of. Piss on everyone who thinks differently.

Shocking to see a man in that condition at this time of day! :drink:

Like others here, I think the tax issue is the real problem at Rangers and literally everything is hanging on the outcome. No amateur how it gets downplayed for obvious reasons, this really is the fulcrum on which the Rangers seesaw pivots ... and the way it is likely to fall might best be judged by the lack of progress to date selling the club. This could be our ultimate nightmare.

I don't believe we were forced into anything. Unfortunately, the relief of success and ambition following the dreadful period of the early 1980's saw too many bears adopt an air of smug, gross complacency. We placed utter faith in Murray and forgot to look past the veneer of his conceit. But I'm with you all the way regarding the next owner, we absolutely must never again forget that we are as much guardians of this club as any owner can ever be and we have an obligation never to be so complacent again or to be so flattered by bullshit.

You may be interested to read the following post from Vanguardbears ... the poster himself is an impeccable source ... Good Bear I know has been in my work having a chat in the last hour. This bloke comes from Barrhead and grew up beside Donald Muir and was his guest at the Hamilton game last week. I've been told that Muir is as big a Bluenose as anyone can be and is doing all in his power to ensure Rangers are sold and back on the straight and narrow. When asked if the takeover was ever going to happen, apparently Muir said, the hold up was all concerning the tax problems Murray left us with, but Muir doesn't think it'll be too big a problem. He thinks Whyte and Ellis will own Rangers very soon and Murray will be gone for good. He even said, that he likes Ellis and his views on the club. Obviously I've not got the time to write everything that was said, so I'll just give a few hints on the conversation. Muir went to the bank and ensured Rangers got the spending money for Jelavic. Bain didn't want to spend this money and Walter persuaded him it was essential. Muir has no time for Bain at all. Muir has openly said, no harm will come to Rangers in the long term, whilst he's in control during difficult times. Muir was given the choice between two companies in shit street. One being the Gers, the other, Tom Farmer's (Opus Dei and Hibs) He chose the Gers. The banners saying enemy within etc towards Muir, apparently could not be further from the truth, as he's been a Bear all of his life and still has season books for the family etc. Just thought I would give a brief intro to what was said. The guy who gave this info, will be joining VB very soon and I've no reason to doubt his opinions. Like all of us, he's a Unionist - Loyalist - Rangers man.

Predict how many goals 'King Kenny' will get in Turkey
maineflyer replied to Totti's topic in Rangers Chat
"King" Kenny ........ yeah, right, nice sarcasm. -
Remember though, Ulster has nothing to do with Rangers ... or is it the other way round, I forget exactly how the hand wringers put it.

Seems only right, since Belfast regularly comes to Rangers.

Don't you just feel utterly depressed at the transfer fee and how pathetic is our situation, whether the inept management of Bain or the ludicrous financial straightjacket that blowbag bastard Murray has left us in. You could weep for the shambles of Rangers FC.

I find only pleasure at seeing Miller leave Rangers. It may not make much sense to welcome the loss of your top scorer but that's genuinely what I feel. I never wanted an ex Celtic player at the club and I never enjoyed having one. Of course I welcomed his goals and the points those goals brought but that's altogether different from the man himself and where he'd been. Despite his goals which, if we're honest, have only made a significant impact this season, I still think he's a talentless arse and thank fuck he's gone.

Agreed but surely it makes even more sense to figure out why leagues are variously successful or not and deliver decent quality or not. Equating these differences simply with the size of the league or the population of the country and assuming these are the only determining factors may be entirely missing the point.
-
I like that team too, that's what I'd go with although I'm not sure we could sustain anything like that shape if we have to make more than one sub.
-
Every day I log on hoping Miller is history.

Why should anyone think that changing the size of the leagues will constructively affect the quality of the football? All I can see it affecting is the size and allocation of income. Personally, I think this is the most pointless distraction since Big Dave sent us all out to look for moonbeams ........ utter bollocks from start to finish. Henry McLeish, SFA, SFL, SPL, SD, RST, and several other acronyms posturing over a total hoodwink .... that's what's really wrong with Scottish football, it's generally run by and for morons.
-
It's conceivable we could lose Davis, McGregor, Miller and Bougherra before the end of January .... without adding anyone to the squad. What value these youngsters then. Worse, any young player actually making an impact isn't likely to remain at Ibrox much more than a year (Wilson). The youngsters we're afraid of risking today may soon become the youngsters we can't hold on to tomorrow. I think the bleeding of homegrown talent may quickly become a bigger problem than lack of funds to sign new players.

Kenny Miller = history. No longer of any interest to me, not even enough to judge him. He'll be a disaster in Turkey though and back home within a year.
