  1. Understandable question to raise but I'd suggest (nothing more) that it wasn't their leaving that deprived them of their defence but their silence or muted protest after leaving. A great deal more could and should have been said by those that left and I was always convinced their cautious approach only served to bolster those they could not agreed with. That's when a number of good people decided that style was more important than results and have spent the intervening period trying to justify their so-called dignity. However it's more relevant what they do today and tomorrow and thankfully, at least some of them seem to have found a voice at last.
  2. I've seen these protestations and more from the RST elite. They only reveal themselves in this way because someone took thevtime to gather information and openly asked what were always intended to be loaded questions. It was the public asking of those questions on VB, RM and FF that has given the RST something to answer and finally revealed the corruption going on. Northampton Loyalist claims these questions were posed without any interest in the answers, simply to cause trouble for the RST. This is rubbish and shows how little people like NL actually know about what's going on around them. The guys from VB knew damned well what the answers were before they asked those quesestions and asked them precisely because they care about the RST. If NL and others who cluster around the action had more intent to address problems rather than describe them, the RST would never have sunk to the current squalid mess. There's an opportunity here and now to end this shambles but not if people become deflected into a debate about style over substance.
  3. My point is that continuing to describe and analyse the problem is a poor substitute for changing it. There's an unfortunate tendency sometimes to understate the importance of catalysing change and to see worth only in terms of style. The language used above to diminish the importance and consequence of the "loaded questions" was unnecessary and unfortunate. You may not feel they were best constructed but far more was achieved in the asking of them than by all the rest of the considered debaters put together.
  4. With all respect to recent posters, there's some danger hear that the need to be seen to act and debate in a "reasonable" way is eclipsing far more important issues. While there is no doubt some value in constructing a balanced appraisal of events, let's not forget that far more was actually achieved by asking those " loaded" questions than all the even-handedness seen here. The people who asked those questions already knew what was going on in the RST, just as they already know more than has so far come to light, and it was their actions that allowed some light to penetrate the sordid world of the RST - not the extensive reasonableness seen elsewhere. This isn't finished yet, far from it, but if something worthwhile comes from this episode, it will be down to those who create change, not those who intellectualize it.
  5. That's right, take it out of the public domain at all costs. The habits of a lifetime do not easily change and neither will the RST with these people running it. In the words of the prophet, they still just don't get it.
  6. In these times of financial stringency, it's reassuring to learn the Bank of RST is issuing interest-free loans to members that do not need to be repaid for two years. Luckily for those who need to maintain the fullest confidentiality over their finances, the Bank of RST also uses unique accounting principles to ensure said loans do not appear even in it's own accounts. Rumour has it that you can even defer repayment by the expediency of writing a cheque against funds that do not exist. Clever people, our non-elected representatives in the jolly old RST. The only cloud on the financial horizon is the change of treasurer, which might signal the Trust's adoption of more orthodox financial practices. Still, if you get in quick, there's £80,000 unused capital waiting for a home. Dirty, dirty boys and girls of the Rangers Mistrust, whatever will you do next?
  7. Hardly a surprise considering the RST chairman also serves as one of the main FF attack dogs. All good chaps together.
  8. Does anyone feel like he ever actually left? Far as I can see his shadow has never left the club.
  9. Can I just ask .... Where the fukk has this news been until now? I know reporting on Rangers is a bit selective but this is ridiculous.
  10. Having a couple of those attending the AGM give a summary of events, however sanitized, is interesting enough but the real issue is the one behind this latest split. If I pursue it I will be accused of orchestrating a campaign against the RST so I'll let it emerge in it's own time. Grubby little RST.
  11. A complaint about the accounts that was stifled from the chair, while a chairman clears the way for his own exit ... And the treasurer standing down. Settle back folks as Bearwood HopeLess and Ding Crosby bring you the Road to Ruin.
  12. Some observations ...... 1. There is no shortage of people who support the idea of an effective RST. I'm definitely one of them. 2. "Elected" - who elected who in this cabal of dishonesty? Not the membership, that's for sure. 3. Surely you cannot believe for a single minute that the failure of the RST is down to anything but the rot that stinks at it's core, centred around one man and the laughable poodles gathered around him. 4. The "stock" of the RST is it's own making and might be better served by an organization the talks for itself rather than relying on comment in one forum or another. 5. Thirty-five in attendance eh? Well that's some impressive achievement, hardly worth renting the phone box for. But exactly what the king wanted ... no challenge, no waves, no questions ... FF can continue to be the voice of Rangers for another year. How much appetite for embarrassing themselves and the name of Rangers does this RST have? You can talk all you like about "changes" or "taking the Trust forward" or "long road ahead" but you'd be better admitting the game is finally up. Stop hiding behind the idea and admit the gross failure of the project and the direct culpability of board members who failed to stand up to one man's greed. Enemy within - you know as well as I do who is the enemy within and he's currently serving on the RST board, surrounded by fools and naivety. The good guys are long gone. Shame, shame on the lot of you.
  13. Scottish football is largely uncompetitive because so many clubs are atrociously run and, despite all the faux protestations, their ambitions stop squarely at survival. If these clubs would take an honest look at themselves instead of blaming Rangers, they might just have a key to a better future. Instead of innovative ideas and professional leadership we get morons strutting in boardrooms all over the country, whining to anyone who will take them seriously - and I include our own club in that.
  14. The only changes needed are to dismantle the existing Dickensian organizations running our game and to ensure speculation like this is replaced with sensible debate and consultation with real supporters.
  15. Not a mention of the AGM on the RST website yet. Surely some of you informed Gersnetters have the scuttlebutt to share.
  16. Very welcome news.
  17. I'd also like to thank all Gersnet members who have contributed to the cost of placing the Brian Laudrup statement. So far,a contributions come to a fantastic total of £150 - please feel free to keep them coming. I know we all hope the message of goodwill has been conveyed to Brian and that it has gone at least some way to help his morale at this difficult time. When we took the decision to go ahead with this there were two issues I felt were particularly important. First, that the statement should be seen to come from Rangers supporters in general rather than me or this site. Secondly that I would hand back to the Gersnet team all donations made by members. The only constraint I'd put on this is that the money should be used to further the good reputation of Rangers fans and reflect well upon the club. Perhaps the admin team would like to put their heads together and suggest some alternatives. I'll keep everyone posted on the final total. Thanks again Gersnetters, an absolutely brilliant effort all round
  18. Success - Coconut on it's way!
  19. The offence is not in the word itself but in the intent behind it's use. Allowing this to go unchallenged is a form of capitulation and at least some of us don't do that easily. Bear in mind that this isn't coming from someone in the pub. This is being perpetrated by media people who hide behind a thin pretence of objectivity and that deceit is unacceptable on any level.
  20. Yes, the operative words being "have been". Not now though. Intrigued to learn what this good work is though, is it a secret?
  21. Anyone who has studied the bheast will recognize that this has almost nothing to do with how Rangers performed at Old Trafford ... And everything to do with the fact the bheast's team no longer have a seat at the Euro table. Transparent and bitter as always, why don't they go home?
  22. Saturday, bears from all over the country are in Glasgow ... no AGM. Sunday, bears from all over the country are all over the country ... RST hold their AGM. Doesn't really take a lot of imagination to see the intention behind the scheduling. Keep is close, keep it tight.
  23. Oh come on, I thought you were making a serious point. Now you're straying into fantasy.
  24. Well said mate, radical action is the only way anyone will ever listen to us. Anything else ... well we can see the results of dignified silence all around us.
