So who's holding the string? And where's the wind coming from? -
According to this bulletin released on Associated Press today, members of yet another dubious organisation are claiming the referees are partial and there's no case to answer, even though they know nothing about the issue at hand. Perhaps the SFA needs to consult with the polizei to see how they deal with this storm of denial and paranoia before interviewing employees of celtic? ROME ââ?¬â?? The pope's brother says in an interview that he would be willing to testify in the sex scandal rocking the Catholic church in Germany even though he knows nothing about the alleged abuse of a former choir boy. Georg Ratzinger told Italian newspaper La Repubblica that it is in his interest that light be shed even though the alleged abuse didn't occur during his 30 years as head of the Regensburger Domspatzen choir in Germany. The newspaper on Sunday also quoted the brother of Pope Benedict XVI as saying there was discipline when he ran the choir but no climate of terror as a former choir boy has indicated. Ratzinger, a priest, is quoted as saying he suspects animosity toward the church lies behind the sex abuse scandal.

When contemplating an English businessman buying Rangers, is anyone else focussed on the one key question ..... why? -

Or ... you pays your money and gets no choice whatsoever! For some reason everyone assumes Murray has to sell his entire shareholding, which he doesn't. Or sell part or all of his shareholding to only one buyer, which he doesn't. -
Now you're really taking us into fantasy land.... If new owners were to appear with a shed load of cash, I'd still take some convincing that Walter Smith is the best person to spend it. His record in that respect does leave a lot to be desired - it did first time around and it certainly does now that resources are that much scarcer.
-
Since he came back, some of Walter's signings, match tactics and team selections have been nothing short of awful. Who will forget Kaunas? At times he's thoroughly deserved the criticism he's been given. And yet the old bugger seems to have confounded his critics, myself included, by welding together something we haven't seen at Ibrox for many a long day - a team, a genuine Rangers team. He's turned dorks like Lee McCulloch and Steven Whittaker into players who regularly contribute to winning game after game. Fukk me, he's nearly turned Kenny Miller into a footballer. But more than anything else, he's done what every good Rangers manager has to do, he has totally dominated celtic. He's got them in total disarray, destroyed their self-belief, reduced them to howling in the wind like the dogs they are. I don't know how he does it but he's done it twice now and that requires recognition and credit. I think it's something to do with him being truly committed to the cause, just like the rest of us. In times to come, I think I'll look back on this time and remember that Walter Smith gave us back our pride. If this is to be his last season then his is starting to look like an important chapter in the story of Rangers.

Yes but Murray also has a tendancy to be a lying bastard. Having Murray judge what's best for Rangers is a bit like Harold Shipman advising on geriatric care. I think what Murray really means is that he'll be the judge of how much money he'll accept. -
I hate being so predictable but everyone knows I will be.

I'm not convinced but I just hope it's the real thing this time. Albeit that none of us can fully judge new owners in advance, on a personal basis I feel a huge need to see the back of David Murray. Everyone is free to see Murray in whichever light they want but, for me, he's been an utter disaster for Rangers these last ten years and I can hardly wait to celebrate the cleansing that will come when he sells. Therafter I hope I never have the misfortune to hear his name again. -
It WAS a lead balloon!

If only........ the Warhorse played in the best post-war Rangers team of them all........
-
It can only be Kris Boyd.

I remain entirely sceptical. I don't believe this is how a genuine deal will emerge. -
What do they say about judging a book by its cover?

Thomson halves Ra Shellicks saviour - Keano the pikey
maineflyer replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
I don't see Thomson as a future Rangers captain. I think the role would only inhibit the very thing that people like most about Kevin. I could be wrong but he strikes me as someone who flourishes most when out of the main glare of the spotlight. People like Davie Weir, Amoruso or Richard Gough are either totally unfazed by being captain or have egos that thrive on the honour. I believe Thommo is one of those players whose form on the park would suffer from a natural discomfort of leadership. Could be wrong but, intuitively, that's how it looks to me. -
I'll go along with that.
-
Who's Frankie? :box:
-
Whenever Davie Weir does call it a day I hope every Rangers supporter will acknowledge just how big a contribution he has made to this club. He might not have played for a Rangers blessed with money or superstars but he's given honest endeavour a good name again and reminded me of former times when Rangers players commanded respect because of what they did on the park and not in the tabloids.

Yes, but Spiers hasn't written anything original in years. He writes to order from a very limited menu supplied by the few who will actually give him employment in return. He's a little whore, nothing less.
-
It's a very long time since I read anything written by Graham Spiers. Now I seldom bother reading about something he's written. It's all sooooo predictable and repetitive.
-
No, no. Establishment winks slant the other way. That's definitely an anti-catholic, Algerian death wink.
-
Frankly, who gives a fukk?

..... was slipping down for all to see during aftermatch analysis, when he said (I paraphrase) he didn't know why Lafferty had been on the park, "it wasn't for his talent because he has none". Oh dear Charlie Nicholas, that's spiteful and very, very bitter. But it did make me smile, a lot.:spl:
