  1. A transfer embargo might work in favour of Green and the consortium from a purely business view point. Gives them a year to get the books balanced without the chance to bring in any signings.
  2. Seems a very level headed guy who, fingers crossed, will not be swayed by the riches of the Premiership but rather the glory of winning trophies and playing in Europe.
  3. The likes of Whittaker, Edu and Goian could be easily replaced IMO. Like I've said on here before the wage bill will need to be cut next year anyway and young players must be given the chance. Make no mistake next season will be an uphill task for everyone connected with the club. It's up to us as fans to back the young players and the management and build the club from there. Short term pain for the long term benefit of the club.
  4. We will wait and see over the summer. I think a few of them will be going and if they do so will go with my best wishes. I think Naismith and McGregor will stay at the club though. From what I've heard McGregor likes being the "big fish in a small pond" when it comes to being in and around Glasgow and Naisy just simply loves being at Ibrox.
  5. Leggat has become nothing more than the Blue Knights cheerleader rather than an impartial journalist. There are guys on this site who write far, far better blogs than he does.
  6. At the time I thought the punishment on Livingston was harsh. Would say that they were in administration twice and obviously in economic terms they are not as important to Scottish football as we are.
  7. I hope we don't see a return to over-the-top spending. That's one of the reasons we are in this mess. If they want to spend a shitload of cash to improve the performance on the park may I suggest a top-notch scouting system.
  8. If anyone deserves a second crack at the title it's Ally.
  9. Gattuso's experience would be great to help the young players along but I feel that this would be a non-starter.
  10. IMO I think we will have a salary cap of around 15k a week. That means I can see the likes of McGregor, Davis and Whittaker leaving. With the transfer embargo in place it simply means that a lot of youngsters will have to step up next season and I'm confident the likes of Ness, McCabe, Perry and Hutton will do that. Next season will be a transistional one for the club but we it will be short term pain for long term gain.
  11. Just went on the Sheffield Utd Footymad forum. There's one topic that simply says Charles Green bids for Rangers; they are f****d now!! That's very heartning!!
  12. Just wondering if he is any relation to the Lawrence family who previously owned the club?? Just trying to make any possible link to the club.

    UEFA ban

No chance that will happen if we exit admin through a CVA
  14. Only deadline that matters is June 1st when the contracts revert back and if a deal isn't done by then a lot of players and members of staff will lose their jobs.
  15. My heed's nippin with the whole takeover business. Just want to bury my head in the sand and get someone to wake me up when it's done!
  16. Exactly. You don't know whether he is in some way connected to all of this. Either way he will have made money out of this situation which frankly disgusts me.
  17. Out of the out-of-contract players I would keep Aluko and Little but lets not kid ourselves on - the next couple of seasons will see a massive rebuilding job at Ibrox with the big spenders leaving and youngsters coming into replace them. Short term pain for long term gain. The likes of McCabe, Ness, Hutton, Perry and others will all be given their chance to become established first teamers.
  18. I just want this whole sorry saga to come to an end sooner rather than later. I'm just so fed-up with it.
  19. Great article Frankie. The lifeblood for our clubs and clubs like ourselevs (ie massive clubs in small leagues) is to bring on young players, create a winning team, sell them on and continue to rebuild. We also need to look at giving the fans much more of a say in the running of the club. Would love to see a fan ownership scheme at some point but realistically I'm not sure if that could happen.
  20. Next season will be tough but the emergence of younger players such as Perry, Ness, McCabe and Little will stand the club in good stead over the next couple of years. You can be successful and bring through your own players - you only have to look at bigger clubs in Holland and Portugal to realise that.
  21. You can bet the scumbag will be making money out of it.
  22. I can just imagine him taking his seat in the directors box. He wouldn't dare darken the doors of Ibrox again as someone would attempt to string him up.
  23. Think that sums up my mood on the subject. Liquidation would be disaster. The Rangers is my club not Rangers 2012 or Rangers United or any of that pish.
  24. Did this not happen a few years ago when the rest of the league resigned or is it just my imagination?
