This. On the flip side, Ally and the powers that be have to be careful about taking the Rangers fans for granted. As much as our "rebirth" has driven many fans to re-engage with the team in a show of defiance the team has to play well to keep the fans interested. I fear that attendances my drop if we don't show signs of dramatic improvement

Rangers average for their first 3 home games = 46,738 Mhanks average for their first 3 home games = 45,063 Liewell will be beeling. Still laughing at this arrogant arse's Champions League "sell out" statement. 53,373 for the game V Benfica is not a sell out Pete....

Charles Green in Canada. Big news here

When did Real Madrid and Adidas part ways? Have Real signed a new deal for next season with someone else? Not seen it on any footie strip sites -
Celtic hit with Scottish FA charge...
Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose replied to 54andcounting's topic in General Football Chat
Can we also throw in some comedy charges against Peter Lawell after this statement....“We are keeping to that. We are coping well. Our supporters have re-engaged with the club. Our season ticket sales have been fantastic, taking account of the economic conditions. The three home Champions League games are sold out" Not according to the official attendance last night Pete....53,373. What's the excuse now? People bought tickets but decided not to go "cos the telly" was good? I suppose they don't call him Peter Liewell for nowt.... -
Jimmy Calderwood? Kevin Keegan? Alex "9 men behind the ball" McCleish? Just when I thought this thread couldn't get more depressing....
-
You're probably right mate but it just does my head in. In the 60's it was Jim Baxter. In the 80's Willie and Derek Johnstone. In the 90's it was Gough and Hatley. After the Millenium it was Barry Ferguson, Kenny Miller, Walter, Ally and even last season there was talk of Souness, Miller, Boyd and even Novo all returning. Can we start to look forward pleeease!!
-
How depressing is this thread....? "Hello...I support Rangers. The team that always looks back...". It does my head in. We have been given an "opportunity" to reboot the entire structure at our club from top to bottom. We will never havr a better chance to do this and still people want to keep looking back FFS. Let's get in a young and ambitious manager that knows how to actually play football and would fine players for lumping it long

Agreed with regards to Lee Wallace but does anyone feel that he's only really hit 3rd gear? Might be something to with making the jump to a big club as well as the madness from last year but I always feel that there is much more he can give.

Bill McMurdo - Political Conspiracies & Football Clubs
Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I recall you from the old 606 days and thought for some reason you were on RM. I got banned by the Mods from there after about 2 days after being called "Republican" due to me stating that i supported Scotland! And this was before all this SFA stuff! Anyway it's all very sad. The blog you speak of above was quite funny. I genuinely don't get the whole SNP and the Catholic Church thing. If anything I would say it is the opposite as the SNP have gone out their way to support gay marriage much to the rage of the "holy hypocrites". Live and let live I say and if it annoys the Catholic church even better! -

Are you still on Rangers Media Juan? That's place has seriously lost the plot IMO. It actually makes me embarrassed to be Gers fan tbh. It's like Arthur Miller's The Crucible. You say one word out of turn and you're immediately accused of being a Timposter, ****, republican, terrorist, paedo.... It's off the charts. i used to call celtic "Salem FC" but I fear we are giving their nutters a run for their money -

Is anyone else getting tired of the daily conspiracies in relation to our club? FFS it used to be about supporting a football team. Now (acccording to some) I now have to stop loving my country of birth and stop thinking for myself with regards to who I want to vote for. I also need to read carefully between the lines, check the space between their eyes, notice what foot they kick with, work out what school they went to.... What's next? Do I stop eating pototoes? Do I stop drinking Guiness? Do I never wear a kilt again? blah blah blah.... I just can't live my life like that tbh -

Dont get the relevance of Sean Connery's Irish extraction. I'm of Irish and German stock but I feel 100% Scottish -

Fair doos GA but I just don't get how one politcal parties views affects how you feel about the natonal team. For me, they are XI guys wearing dark blue, playing football for their country. As for the British thing goes, I can honestly say that I have never felt British in my life. When I've travelled abroad I never declare myself as British. I always state that I am Scottish. This isnt based on a anti English thing as I love England (amazing country) Its also not derived from anti GB thing as I respect people who feel part of the Union. It just not for me -

Sorry Bill. How is this politcal? Anyone who correlates their vote with their football team should have their vote taken off them. I've always supported my country and always will. You cannot turn your emotions for your team and country on and off like a tap. As for team GB? Do me a favour. I couldn't give a flying fox about team GB. Means nowt to me and I suspect that this pro team GB/England love in is just a pathetic attempt by some to wind up the tims -
As much as I welcome Charles Green's enthusiasm and robust defence of our club in this time of Rangers bashing, there are a few things about his latest statement that left me confused regarding the EBT's. From what I can gather, Green seems to be to stating that we (in our current form) have not been in the SPL therefore we should not be liable for previous owners misgivings with regards the EBT investigation. He is also stating he bought the 54 titles as part of his deal to buy Rangers. Is that then not recognition that he is also buying the liablities (ie. the bad) as well as the good (the history and trophies)? I know there is probably more to this (ie. the deal regarding SFA membership etc.) and I know I will get pelters but can someone please break this down for an idiot

Dito. The last time I went east of the Tron I had a Wizard of Oz in moment. ie. Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore.... It's shocking and makes me embarrassed to be a Glaswegian. Every second person looked as if they were on junk and had a limp/mobility scooter/walking stick. And then you get to the Gallowgate and you really cannot believe what you are seeing. There is a shop that is a official support centre for Irish issues in Glasgow. What issues? Irish people coming to Glasgow in 21st century can come and go as they please without a problem. I think some of these people like to peddle the idea that we are still living in the 50's.

6 of the starting XI yesterday had a Rangers connection mate
-
It is frustrating as for the first time in ages we have a decent squad of young and experienced players but alas we have a manager that makes Walter look like Kevin Keegan (circa Newcastle first time round). Levein needs to believe in his players more and the time to gain points is at the start of a campaign Craig. Have you ever heard of momentum? Get wee Billy Davies in there now
-
Call me stupid but where is the "story" here. Charles green has stated on several occasions that he is here to make money for his investors from their investment in Rangers. Surely part of that is to get Rangers running properly and effectively on and off the pitch

Suppose it depends how you define a Protestant? I tend to think of a real Protestant as one that is the practicing Christain kind as opposed to the part time wedding/funerals/christenings kind. If it's the former, then I don't know any Gers fans like that -

Interesting read. To be honest I don't know any actual Protestants who are Rangers fans. Most of the guys I know who are fellow Gers fans are all agnostic or athiests Maybe time for a AC Grayling Loyal? -
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/greenslade/2012/sep/03/sun-scotland?CMP=twt_gu I see they are using the "satirical" angle when relating to "The Incubator" blog... Would they be so "understanding" if the shoe was on the other foot? I'm still baffled at who would buy this book? As I've said before, Celtic fans will lap up his blog but will they waste their money buying his trashy wee book? After all, they are his only market... Strange. If this was a Rangers "blogger" writing a book about the financial demise of Celtic, I would find it rather odd and it wee bit obsessive tbh
