On monday I remembered that the mhanks were playing Inter Milan at the weekend and went online to see what the score was and had to chuckle as their glamour friendly was relegated to the margins for multiple Gers stories. I eventually found an article about their game at my 4th attempt on the Sun's website about 10 stories down. Oh and plenty of empty seats....

We should never move from Ibrox. It is the heart and soul of Rangers IMO. On a practical front, the stadium is perfect for our needs tbh so we should maximise what is already there. Some general TLC on an annual basis should be fine starting with the the cleaning and blasting of the main facade. I couldn't help but notice that it was looking a wee bit under loved on a recent visit. Maybe done in time for our return to the top??

As much as I take most things Leggat posts with a bucket of salt, I thought Green's use of the word bigotry was unnecassary and dissappointing. Stick up for the club by all means but I feel that he is using this word to ingratiate himself with the doubters

Agree mate. As I said above I'm probably being a bit dramatic but I still think back and see Aberdeen going from a decent team in the early 90's to a joke of a side in the space of 3/4 seasons. During that time their fans almost accepted their fall from grace and indeed started down the self parody route. It was embarrassing to be honest

I hope not Amms. I'm all for humour in our songs but it's just weird hearing some of the stuff from yesterday. ie. Songs about the mhanks not being able to win the Ramsdans Cup. I know it's tongue firmly in cheek etc. but all this shit is still too raw for self parody at this stage for this fan

Ok I might get pelters for this but is anyone else somewhat concerned that our new found "status" in Division 3 may create a sideshow/novelty atmosphere among our fans? I am fully aware that we will have to eat humble pie for 3/4 years down in the lower leagues and that means travelling to grounds that we are not accustomed to and playing teams that we would only face in the early rounds of the cup in years gone by but I fear that there might be an ironic response to this situation among our fans. I recall it happening with Aberdeen fans in the 90's after their run of success in the 80's. They would turn up in mumbers only for one off games (OF, Europe etc.) and when they were getting gubbed they would cheer ironically when their OWN team managed somehting decent. Their chants even descended down the self-deprecation route. I have also seen this in the Scotland/Tartan Army fans. The core of the fans treat football like a travelling social club where football and success becomes secondary. Granted I'm probably being a tad mellow dramatic but IMO we are too big and succesful for our team to go down this route and I would hate our new status to turn into something of a circus sideshow

It's not just the terminology that they are getting wrong. It's cold hard facts they are getting wrong on a daily basis. There was an hour long discussion about the Rangers situation this week on national station that stated that Rangers have to punished because of the EBT's (not proven yet) they used as advantage during the 9 in a row period!! This was repeated over and over during the entire conversation and was not once challenged by anyone. Where do you start?.....

Can I take the opportunity to congratulate the OP for a fantastic read and at the same time I would like to thank many of the other posters from recent weeks. It only proves why I am a member and read this blog on a daily basis. It's provides insight, honesty and balance not found on other Rangers sites IMO. Well done all

This outright deluded victim culture supported by some Celtic fans will unfortunately only find another "host" to bombard now that all their Christmas' have come at once with our decline. That's the problem with this mindset. It's irrational, it's deluded and based on ignorance and spreading fear. I fear that it is so deep rooted that it will only find another outlet to vent it's madness. They have to. It's the only thing that keeps these idiots going tbh.

I was referring to a top flight with the OF in there. (when we get back). if a few teams hit the skids when we are away surely that would make the league worse

I have to agree with the OP to a certain degree and said it on another thread from a few weeks ago. As much as I can understand the clamour for revenge, Rangers do not exist in a vacuum. We need to be playing in Scottish football to sustain our existence and hopefully reach new heights along the way. What would be the point of spending 3/4 years "getting back" from square 1 to find a league that is worse than it's current format? How is that going to help Rangers in the long term? The only "revenge" I want is on the pitch

The thing that makes me chuckle about this "Sporting Integrity" BS is the utter hypocracy. Are we to say that anyone who dives to win a penalty is going against the grain of Sporting integrity?
