The thing about this idiots book that doesn't add up to me is who exactly is this publication aimed at? I know the dhims will lap up his blog and these sordid wee extracts etc. but will they actually part cash to buy a book docmenting financial mismanagment at Rangers? I know they will have their wee laugh but why buy a book about it? Imagine the shoe was on the foot and Celtic were in our position? Would you waste cash and buy a book written by a Rangers "fan" about the demise of Celtic? First of all I would be bewildered why a Gers fan would care so much about them and secondly I wouldn't wipe my arse with a celtic book never mind buy and read one? This guy is an obssessed weirdo. Very strange....

If this was a Rangers fan, Phil McGobshite would be blogging some bollocks about this being further evidence of the majority culture trodding on the minority etc. etc. and Offended FC would be lapping it up. As this is a Celtic fan they will no doubt declare this as evidence of their all round craicster attitude to life and try to laugh it off. I seem to recall people being appoplectic and Dallas getting hounded for being a bigot for passing on a widespread joke about the Catholic church and the Pope. The same joke was rolled out on Have I Got News For You and on various satirical shows that week. I suppose that makes me, Paul Merton, Ian Hislop and a few million other people around the UK bigots? -
The thing that I genuinely hate about this joker is that he goes close to painting Glasgow as a medieval backwater, where catholics are being stoned in the street. Don't get me wrong, Glasgow is not perfect and has it's frictions/issues like any other city but this idiot uses his own experience as a benchmark for every other Irish Catholic in Glasgow. My wife is Irish Catholic (as is all her family) and have lived in Glasgow for decades and love it. They have nothing but positive things to say about the place and consider themselves "Glaswegians". They have experienced warmth from the people around them and opportunites that they would have never have in their parents homeland but guys like this won't be rushing to tell you about the countless Irish people who have good experiences of this country

I agree Govan. I wasn't agreeing with the idea of a memorial. I was merely stating that if this "joker" was serious about this campaign for a memorial why not take issue with the city that you have a so called problem with. Instead, this little turd went over to the States and fired off his ammo at Glasgow, Scotland, Rangers and big bad Protestants from a safe distance.

There is one glaring mistake in Chris' piece. He calls Phil McGobshite a Celtic blogger. The truth is that this guy never blogs about his so called "beloved" Celtic. From what I have seen he spends all of his time blogging about Rangers and how bad Glasgow and Scotland is. On his recent visit to Philly he spent most of the time deriding Glasgow for not having a memorial to the Irish famine... Not entirely sure why he went all that way to highlight this instead of starting a campaign in Glasgow?

I go down south on business on a regular bassis and it makes me flecking gag when you go up the escalators and see their shop when you head for departures -

Apparently rates are sky high at the airport -
RANGERS have made their sixth new signing of the summer after French defender Sebastien Faure joined the club on a three-year deal subject to international clearance. The former Lyon centre half arrives at Ibrox as a free agent after spending much of the last fortnight training with Ally McCoistâ??s squad. Faure sadly isnâ??t in the squad for tonightâ??s Ramsdens Cup tie at Falkirk but the club is hopeful he will be cleared to play at Berwick Rangers on Sunday in the Third Division. A former French youth international, Faure came through Lyonâ??s youth academy and progressed into their senior squad. But although he did play for them in the French League Cup, he left the Stade de Gerland without making any appearances for them in his countryâ??s top flight. For all that, he still has plenty of pedigree and was in Les Bleusâ?? squad for the Under-20 World Cup last year in Colombia and helped them finish fourth. Faure struggled with injuries last season as a broken toe hindered him at Lyon then caused problems in the second half of the campaign in a loan at Nantes after it seemed it had healed. But he is fully fit now and has impressed Ally McCoist enough during his training stint with Gers to be given a chance. Faure played in a bounce game against Hamilton Accies last week and showed some good touches in the win over the First Division side. Now he will challenge for a place in McCoistâ??s side after having a trial earlier this summer with English Championship side Leeds United. Not sure what we can say until we see him in action as he hasn't really played much in the last 4 years but none the less we need cover at the back to counter the departing Boca and Goain

a good article from Jim traynor.

Agree. It's typical of the press and their mhanks followers to promote this notion but as you said, most fans that have bought ST will have done so on the basis that they now know where we are playing. The idea that 30,000+ people shelled out good hard cash on the basis of one statement is sheer stupidity -
Their first strip was white (for a year) but after that the wore green and white stripes as opposed to hoops. I think there is also a story that their hoops jersey were old Hibs strips (Hibs wore hoops for a while). Not sure about the truth in that? Could be true though as they half inched most of their players as well and bascially ran Hibs into the ground before they returned a year later...
-
More bizarrely, Aberdeens strip up until 1939 was yellow and black stripes with white shorts. With regards the Celtic retro strip, I think it is meant to commemorate them being in business for 125 years? Mmmm...considering they didn't start wearing their hoops until 1903, I think they are out by about 16 years on this "tribute"....

Amms. I'm with you. I didn't know Celtic where playing Ross County at the weekend never mind losing until the 95th minute until yesterday afternoon. I could not give a damn about the SPL.
-
I think that is unfair to compare The Netherlands with Scotland. For one they have a greater population and more importantly they have a product that may not be the EPL, La Liga etc. but it is far superior than anything the SPL can offer. Their players are regularly courted by all the main leagues in Europe and generally go for high to very high fees.

Is the Nike tie in definate no no these days? I know they had this one team, one city "policy" but Man City are changing to Nike next season so that theory is out of the window -
Nice Inter kit (compared to the last few seasons) but I wish Inter would go back to the lighter blue as opposed to the darker royal blue. The darker blue stripes blend in with the black too much for me. I prefer a more contrasting strip like the old ones http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/497/882/boninsegna_display_image.jpg?1289446572' alt='boninsegna_display_image.jpg?1289446572'>

The best part about the attendance was the fact that it was bigger than the Empty Flag party on the other part of the city 2 weeks ago. Liewell must have been spewing yesterday when he saw that figure.

As much as the game is about opinions, I wish people would give the team and the manager a chance for goodness sakes. I am also unsure about McCoist as a manager (long term) but after the 6 months we've had we have to take each game as it comes and give the team a chance to develope. We are playing with a mixture of youngsters, new signings and players that are looking to leave and we need to see how the team settles after the window closes. Yesterday was not just about winning. It was about creating a positive day in our recenet turbulent existence and we need to build on it and keep building and moving forward

Can't help thinking about the youthful quality of our midfield if we had managed to retain Ness and McCabe. Oh well.... -
Steven Thompson - I'am not anti Rangers
Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed. A horrible little man and a horrible little club. I did like this qoute.... “Our fans traditionally stay away from games against either of them because they don’t care for the atmosphere, so Dundee being in the SPL is better for us than anything.” They don't care for the atmosphere? So will the rival fans be sitting side by side today at the Dundee Derby making daisy chains? Will they feek... Mr Thompson, the reason you're fans traditionally stay away from the OF games is the same reason they stay away from most games. They're part timers. -
Whatever you think about the SNP, they are the first party in my lifetime to consider Scotland first as opposed to heading to Westminster to get the thumbs up before making a decision. They may not be everyones cup of tea but my hope is that at least raise the bar for the other parties in Scotland so we can have credible voting options fighting for our country as opposed to watered down versions of the Westminster main parties. Scottish Labour are pathetic and IMO need to to break away from the main party to be credible again

I think the actual quote was "Anyone but England" (when asked who he wanted to win the 2006 world cup) but I get your point. If you read stories abput Murray you get the impression that he is a decent guy with a good sense of humour. He's good mates with Rafa and Novak and is generally well liked on the tour but after that "quote" he has just given lazy journalists a chance to peddle the whole dour Scot pish -
