I hope it is eventually found Whyte fraudulently obtained funds from ticketus in order to clear the bank overdraft to buy Rangers from SDM for £1.what needs to be established is whether SDM was forced by LBG into this deal. It was clearly evident from the start that WHyte's business background made him a totally unsuitable person to own Rangers and he should never have got within a millions miles of Rangers. Questions need asked of LBG (especially the 2 individuals in charge of its Scottish business division at that time - messrs Fullerton & Kane) and of course the SFA. I believe it is totally inconceivable these organisations did not know WHyte's business background. Once fraud is established then I would hope/expect the 26,000 shareholders in the oldco to take legal action against these organisations on the basis of negligence, especially the SFA whose 'fit and propers persons' requirements did not seem to be applied in this instance. Why was that Mr Regan ? Did Peter tell you to let this charlatan take over his club's biggest rivals? Subsequently Whyte did take over Rangers but never had sufficient funds to run Rangers especially after two early european exits from malmo and maribor. He withheld employees PAYE/NI deductions until HMRC could take no more and the inevitable administration happened on Feb14 last year.Again questions need asked why HMRC allowed Whyte to continue non-payment for as long as they did and at what point the SFA knew and apparently took no action. Again why was that Mr Regan? Whyte is rightly condemned as the 'baddie' in all of this but in my opinion there are others with many questions to answer also.

The problem is UEFA & FIFA seem to think they are some sort of authority on legal matters. They're not.

It would, of course, be no surprise if it is true the board have won. The requisitioners simply do not have enough support from the shareholders. Had they got the likes of McColl and King to purchase shares recently whilst they are at their current low price then things may have been very different. Had they got, say, 10 to 15 per cent each then that would have changed things significantly. However they weren't and we are where we are. Frankly we need to move on. Next year will be another big year. The UTT sits early next year and hopefully we'll find out the background to this.

How long before the daily rebel start to put his name forward............

Lobbying shareholders to gain control seems to be how the requisitioners think they'll succeed. No chance of them buying shares. Wonder how McColl would like it if people tried to make appointments to the board of one of his companies without putting any money into it. Doubt it somehow.

They have no masterplan. Just lobbying shareholders who put up their money a year ago and they weren't prepared to do so.

If McColl wasn't interested why was he part of the requisitioners? Just courting publicity? I do realise LAXEYS shares money didnt go to the club but given the relatively small amount involved couldnt King have paid this money to at least get some say in the club ? Loose change to him I'd have thought given his wealth

Whether inadvertently or by design, you're missing his main point, Rab. He said that "the notion that a financial director should be given a £200,000 bonus for winning the Third Division is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous." That is the key point - would you like to defend it ? Wouldnt defend it at all.Shocking. But who was chairman at that time?

I do realise what you're saying but with the shareprice as it is I cannot see what there was to prevent Dave King buying 10 or 20 percent shareholding for less than £5m.Given his alleged wealth I 'd have thought that loose change to him.

I'll repeat what I said earlier. What was to stop King recently buying 5 per cent of shares for £1.3m instead of Laxey? He won his tax battle in SA months ago. As for McColl I simply cannot understand what he was trying to achieve all along without investment from somewhere.

Come on craig surely with his millions he could have recently bought a decent shareholding especially at a time when the shares are low in price. Why didn't he?

"But frankly the notion that a financial director should be given a £200,000 bonus for winning the Third Division is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. And that tells me that whoever made that decision should not be running Rangers Football Club." And was it not Malcolm Murray who made that decision when he was chairman? He's one of the requisitioners now unless I'm mistaken

What if we don't end up in a bleak place? What if whichever Easdale it was interviewed on Friday really has got investors lined up? My gripe all along is that the requisitioners were a joke all along .They were nothing more than the Blue Knights tribute act.

Everyone had the opportunity to get shares a year ago. The ones who chose not to seem to be making the most noise at present. Frankly it was a joke that the requisitioners were simply going around lobbying shareholders instead of getting proper financial backing. What was Jim McColl all about ? King too. If Laxey can fork out £1.3m for 5 per cent of Rangers couldn't McColl or King have done that given their wealth? Or maybe more ? We are where we are.Rangers are a plc owned by shareholders who will elect who they wish to run Rangers on thursday. It's a foregone conclusion. Get over it.

Five arrested after Celtic fan trouble at Motherwell match
RANGERRAB replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
The Green brigade blatantly broke so many laws so often over a period of time that the question needs asked how they got away with it for so long.I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact Scotland's so-called top lawman Mulholland QC is supposedly a ST holder at Snake Mountain but it seemed to be that only UEFA were prepared to do anything about this organisation. -
Can you prove HMRC were within their rights to chase that EBT Case? EBT's were a perfectly legal form of tax avoidance used by thousands of UK companies until they were closed down following legislation. I hope following the UTT early next year we find out who it was who got HMRC to chase this fictitious tax bill.
-
No it wasn't.It was always going to happen when Whyte took over.He hadn't the funds to run Rangers. I want to know who was responsible for allowing him to take over Rangers.
-
Had Whyte never got Rangers in the first place then administration would never have happened.we need to know how Whyte got Rangers. Did LBG force SDM into selling to Whyte? If so why, by whom at LBG and for what reasons?
-
So why were they more concerned with Rangers debt instead of the much larger MIH debt?
-
You should ask why HMRC chose to go after Rangers for this fictitious EBT tax bill. I firmly believe a certain former labour cabinet minister used his political connections to get them to do this as part of the plan to put us out of business altogether. It very nearly succeeded.

Celtic fans rioting in Motherwell tonight?
RANGERRAB replied to Zappa's topic in General Football Chat
By continually ignoring and denying the existence of militant Irish republicanism within their support Celt@c perhaps unintentionally created a monster called the green brigade which is turning to destroy them.Despite today's actions these people will not go away as they see Celt@c as their stage to show their militant Irish Republicanism. Liewell is terrified of these people and cannot and will not be able to remove them on a permanent basis. The fun has just begun. Let's sit back and watch this vile club unravel in the months and maybe years ahead.Who knows their Irish identity may destroy them once and for all. Here's hoping.
