  1. Never. Black was no tough guy. I don't want head bangers.
  2. Baxter and McMillan didn't get kicked much. Two reasons. One, they were helluva hard to get at. Two, Harry Davis was riding shotgun. I admire Warburton's philsophy. I have no qualifications to argue with his team selections but it is useful to have a tough guy around. A proper tough guy. Not a headcase.
  3. The Press won't be hard on Gibbons unless at some time in the future he signs for Rangers.
  4. Burchill - I rember him. The new Simon Donnelly, or somebody.
  5. I'm pretty much with you in all of that, BM, but it was the real Hibs and Mowbray has long gone. The plug ugly in charge is Stubbs.
  6. Good for Bobby Brown. Last survivor of the great Curtain
  7. Neutral Scot was a decent hibbee.

    Ex-ranger

Performed usefully when he came from Hibs, clever inside forward with lengthy haircut.
  9. Who would you have as manager? GS isn't Matt Busby but who do you think might be better?
  10. There won't be any witnesses at the November hearing. One side or the other or perhaps both is saying that the opponent has not set out a legal case in writing. i. e. Even if everything the other fellow says in writing is true, to it doesn't entitle him to the order he's asking the Court to grant. I expect this hearing will be the end of it. There can't be much dispute about the facts. The issues will be the interpretation of the contract and whether the contract was granted to Green by himself or a stooge or by the Board independently. I say the end of it but Green will appeal if he loses. The text of his terms of service would be interesting. I wonder if forlan has it stowed away somewhere.
  11. Dens Park would be a fair venue. Doesn't much matter. Peterhead folk wanting to see their team will travel to wherever the game is played.

    Ex-gers...

Davy Wilson had to be dragged kicking and screaming onto the train to Dundee in exchange for Orange Personn. Jimmy Miller and Wullie Henderson had reached the end of the natural road, prematurely in Wullie's case because of his bunion We got some service out of Miller. Half-back, centre forward, then half-back again. One of the world's great spectacles to see him outjump the giant McNeil and bullet in a header. A better header of the ball than DJ or Hateley imho, though my auld mither would have said Willie Thornton.

    Fernando.

Never one of my favourite footballers but the guy's got courage. An old 'Gers select played an old Aberdeen/Celtic select in a fund raising match at Elgin City's ground last month. Fernando was there with near 5,000 + to see Mols and Negri secure victory for the righteous.
  14. Bearman might be right - in twenty years. I read it as happening straight away.
  15. Two things: Judges and Counsel lunch together in a sumptuous dining room. Words to the wise, gypsy's warnings, nods and winks. Stenos, transcribers, printers and binders gossip. Whatever, let's hope it's true. btw, I'm just assuming the dining room is sumptuous.
  16. Disaster for Scotland, as Arthur used to say. Ah well, ''twas ever thus.
  17. We couldn't finish first in the Scottish second tier last season.
  18. How on earth will they get an unbiased jury?
  19. Klopp and Ancelloti are shorter odds with Klopp favourite. Lot of Makems want him for S'land. Lot of Makems don't.
  20. "Forest, Derby, Sheff Wed, Leeds, Charlton, Middlesboro, Fulham, Bolton" Add Wolves, Sheffield Utd, Burnley and that would be a decent league to play in
  21. You most certainly may, dB.
