  1. That looks like somebody playing blind man's bluff and another bloke, sme kind of percussionist, playing a big red triangle.
  2. ... managed to beat Elgin City 0-1 last night, Lafferty in the sixtieth minute. Walker, subbed after seventy five minutes, "scored" but was offside. City had only thirteen players and lost 6-0 at Dunfermline on Saturday. Puts things in perspective a bit.
  3. The first I read was Geordie Young's, then Billy Wright's. Interesting enough but nothing notable. Len Shackleton's was different. No respect for the FA or for club directors. He had a chapter entitled "A Director's Knowledge of Football". It was a blank page. Good stuff. I suspect Merson and Parlour will be similar. Tom Finney's book should be a text book for young professionals.
  4. Sir John Ure Primrose.
  5. That's Runners-Up FC, though, isn't it? The whining arrogance of the under-dogs. Throw them something to quieten them down. How about Official Scottish Far East Soccer Ambassadors?
  6. Smokin', Uilleam, just smokin'.
  7. Interesting article. "His favourite-ever player? “Pat Stanton, without a shadow of a doubt. Majestic. Others too, Jimmy O’Rourke and John Brownlie. (Alex) Cropley. Colin Stein. It was a treat seeing Colin play. He signed from Armadale Thistle" Fair play to the man, he's a good judge of a player.
  8. I don't think we "joined as one". The 45 still have their claymores in the thatch. Bit less than 45 now, though, I suspect with a lot of fishermen and farmers having come to their senses and droves of children jumping on to the Corbyn Happy Train. The question is, will there be seats for all on that train or will passengers have to pretend they couldn't get one?
  9. "The finest solicitor in the land" - who's that. Not in Arbroath, obviously. But what's wrong with Arbroath? Am I missing something? Is there a bloke in Arbroath advising the tannadice Bedouin?
  10. That's the best statement ever from a football grouping. The Club has obviously got somebody with a bit of nous who understands economy of language. Compare that with the Traynoresque nonsense after the exhuberant CF.
  11. Real, 0-6 away, 0-1 at home. 0-7 aggregate. 'Spurs 2-5 away, 2-3 at home. 4-8 aggregate.
  12. To put Berwick into perspective, it was a game Rangers dominated missing umpteen chances. Could ha e been 1-6. How many chances did Rangers create over two games against Progres? Until now Chesterfield was the worst result. I discount a freak cup final result as an utter fluke as proven by results over the subsequent several seasons
  13. I don't normally watch foreign language programmes but I'll make an exception for this.
  14. It is a massive mistake to use crimes of child abuse as a counterweight in a football dispute which, I think, is part of the sub-text in the statement which is otherwise pretty good. The fighting fund money has been expended. Time for a defence fund.
  15. Do you think he might have come on and scored? The guy's a deskie. His absence doesn't matter.
  16. One in the eye for Pathetic FC, not that the shameless will ever say anything different.
  17. Sanchez wanting £400,000 a week. Who's going to pay that?
  18. What a pompous statement from Runners-Up FC. Laughable really.
  19. Greetin' Weans FC may or may not come to grief over the cover-up but any campaign should not be led by Rangers.
  20. "Rangers have lost their tax case" Jackie Bird says so.
  21. Murray should be suing his tax advisers and the bloke who sold him the scheme. But he was naive to think it would work. On second thoughts, not naive but arrogantly optimstic.
  22. If a replay is offered, better to forfeit the tie - beaten with or without the bloke's asthma cure. Also saves us rrom a drubbing in Cyprus.
  23. Not surprised. Taking the narrow view, a major image disaster for the club. Taking a broader view, I don't mind seeing smart-alec tax liability reduction schemes going up in smoke.
  24. Berwick was a fluke. Rangers battered them that day but couldn't score. Chesterfield was much worse. Now this is worse than Chesterfield by miles.
  25. I don't think Latin is taught anywhere nowadays, dB. I think that's a mistake. The equivalent of physical training for the mind.
