  1. buying shares in a company is investment. Either way the £5m is included in the £18m all ready spent
  2. Did the accounts include purchase price?
  3. Couple of points from today I liked the fact Mcleish gave the impression that he would want the job but at the same time it annoys me he was cute and said he wanted to be offered it first before he would publicly state his desire. I really want a guy who has the guts to just say he wants the job and if offered a decent deal would take it. If your not willing to do interim just say so. I also liked the fact he seemed generally angry at the state of the defending. Whoever takes over has to have the ability to knock heads together back there. All in got to say I would be happy with Mcleish as interim boss but that's it. I want a more progressive candidate who will knock my socks off. Whether that's just a pipe dream time will tell I suppose.
  4. I wonder if the Fulham rumours had an element of truth after all
  5. think the last few lines of Kings statement hints clearly at the fact that Mcleish and co are not in the running for the main job full time. They will hire Mcleish or his like as an inerim basis and look to secure a DoF first. A new manager will come after not before. If murty does okay he will stay as interim manager as the board are afraid of the reaction from fans if one of the usual suspects is given the role short term.
  6. How senderos has the CV he does i will never know. Hopefully Murty has the guts to drop him. I liked the small tactical changes he made today. Keeping miller up against the back line more often and also the switching between halliday and tav when attacking, left halliday free in the box a couple of times, unfortunately he missed one he should have scored. Nice to see us mix things up though. Hopefully some confidence starts to come back and we get rid of the poor mistakes. Don't think its any coincidence we had two strikers come up with the goals today .off the top of my head i cant remember the last time that happened (no doubt someone will tell me it was just last week!).
  7. mckay and ohalleron played the same position they always do. Guess it depends on whether you class our usual formation as 451 or 433. for me its a 433 edit tav sweeped behind when we attacked but he moved to RB when defending
  8. dont know where you see 442 It was waghorn and miller through the middle with mckay and ohalleron wide as usual with tav sweeping behind the mid three
  9. some very nervous players today. Got to say i am happy after that. We made changes to tactics during the game, the subs were dictated by the play. Most of all i loved the tactical change near the end, very impressed. I know the edge of the seat attacking stuff doesn't suit everyone but i enjoyed that more than any recent game i can remember. Still have a long way to go but at least we are on the road now.
  10. its more i want someone with a football mentality and experience dedicated to that role. Let SR deal with the company, i dont have any confidence he has the desired experience in things like purchasing players etc. He might have done freebies at motherwell but has he, before us ,ever actually dealt with a signing fee negotiation for example?
  11. Nobody is coming out of this looking good. We need the man at the top present each day and accountable for everything that goes on. That's not a dig at king just my feelings on the matter. Said it a few months back we desperately need a DoF who is onsite all day every day.
  12. Few rumours and murmurs about us bringing in DoF , Have seen it online saying we have asked permission to approached the guy in charge of southamptons academy Alex McLeish is favourite to take charge at Ibrox if the Rangers board decide on an interim manager until the end of the season, following the departure of Mark Warburton on Friday. The Ibrox board has other managerial candidates to consider for the long-term, including Derek McInnes of Aberdeen, a former Rangers player, along with St Johnstone’s Tommy Wright and Michael O’Neill, manager of Northern Ireland. The Sunday Telegraph can also reveal that possible candidates for a proposed post of director of football include Paul Mitchell, who is working his notice as head of recruitment at Spurs, Stuart Webber, head of football operations at Huddersfield Town and also John Park, the former chief scout at Celtic. Park was credited with having been instrumental in attracting players of the calibre of Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk during his 10 years at Parkhead, before parting company with Rangers’ arch-foes in October. No movement will occur before Monday, with under-20 coach Graeme Murty in charge for Sunday’s William Hill Scottish Cup fifth-round tie at home to Greenock Morton. McLeish declined to make any comment on the possibility of his return to Ibrox for a second spell in charge, having guided Rangers to two Scottish championships and five cup wins between 2001 and 2006. Warburton, meanwhile, remains adamant that no agreement was reached between Rangers and his representative, Dave Lockwood, to the effect that he and his assistant, David Weir, and the club’s head of recruitment, Frank McParland, would resign. The former Brentford boss also claims to have referred the matter to both his lawyers and the League Managers Association, although there has been no confirmation from the LMA of contact from Warburton over the issue. However, Dave King, the Rangers chairman, issued a statement which accused Warburton of having reacted badly to a review by the Ibrox directors of his performance. King said: “Ahead of the board meeting at the end of January, I advised the manager that the board wished to review our recruitment plan and performance over the previous two windows. “This was a routine request and was timely given the concerns that everyone at the club has with regard to the high level of wages we were paying relative to the performance on the pitch. In particular, a large portion of our wage bill was not even seeing regular playing time. “Under normal circumstances such a review would remain confidential. However, in this instance, the board’s routine questioning of management was leaked to the media and conveyed as being a negative reflection of the board’s attitude to the manager and the recruitment department. It was confirmed to me that the leak did not come from a board member. “Things moved quickly from that point. There were rumours that the management team (presumably their agent) was negotiating with English clubs and, in one instance, I was informally approached to ask if the club would waive compensation if the management team was to leave.
  13. well that doesnt sound very promising. Has he been training at all?
  14. tbh not sure if this is a common thing nowadays or not. It seems strange to me though i do see the merits in the video stuff they send the players but nothing surely out does actually doing it in training
  15. all positional training is done verbally and on the computer(including homework), no set pieces be it attack or defence took place on the training ground. One player was also given into trouble for staying behind and doing extra training and told not to do it again. are just a couple, wont share anything specific to individuals, as the club have made it abundantly clear what will happen if any members of staff talk out of house and it reaches online. My biggest gripe though was ignored by most when i posted it ages ago, the first sub is picked in advance of the game!!!!!! still drives me bonkers To be clear i think the computer stuff is first class but it shouldn't be the sum total in my opinion
  16. No he was fully aware but refused to accept it. On wednesday they verbally resigned and that resignation was accepted by the board. Thursday the agent tried to cancel the deal/resignation and wanted the club to pay £700k if they still wanted the three to leave. On thursday the board had another meeting to decide what to do. They decided to uphold the original resignation made on (edit mistake) wednesday. The agent then tried to say it is not valid as not in writing it was then pointed out that verbal resignation in Scottish law has the same standing as written. The agent said they would fight this and did not accept the decision. MW and co where informed by the club that they wereno longer employees. MW refused to accept this and tried to strong arm the board. He turned up for fridays press conference dressed in his Rangers gear as if butter wouldnt melt in his mouth. Unfortunately by the time SR found out what was happening the press where already in place and it was decided wrongly or rightly to let it play out. MW was then again informed he was to leave upon which he did after some argument. It is believed by the board that it all came down to the fact NF had offered them the position at their club but after being informed of rumours regarding the three from brentford NF recinded the offer leaving the agent to try and get the pay off from us back on the table
  17. Wednesday.
  18. think the problem more stemmed from the fact MW's agent didnt know verbal resignation is legally binding in Scotland as i said last night. rbr you should ask the guys you know to tell you all about the level of training thats been going on. If fans knew half of the things that have been happening they would have wanted MW gone as much as i did.
  19. Squad wise we are in a pretty poor shape tbh very few tactical options are available, the mentality of the team is pretty poor too. The timing of his resignation is the biggest issue right now, attracting a high calibre appointment at this stage of the season is tough. The best option might be an interim manager until the end of the season but its a bit of a thankless task and any manager worth his salt will want promises if he hits targets. On the bright side it wont take much to get us secured in second place. Literally change the front formation and start doing drills at training instead of just talking about positioning/defending and we can kick on from here. Hopefully the players react like professionals but who knows with this squad how they will react.
  20. that list makes for some poor reading, literally only 4 i would consider from it.
  21. Reading between the lines looks like they handed in a offer to resign that was accepted by the club but the management team representatives tried to change the deal in favour of MW and co. This new deal was rejected by the board and the first was accepted. Makes the board look amateurish but in truth it says way more about the management team. Looks like we had the wool pulled over our eyes by another charlatan
  22. Sums the man up . He convinced me with his words but his actions have revealed his true character. Lying comes easy to MW just watch his press conference, not a flinch yet he knew he had handed in his resignation over a week ago. Wonder if his resignation was before the hearts game or after?
  23. It will all come out in the next few weeks I imagine, mostly about an agency he seems to work too closely with
  24. played with any determination and desire and we wouldn't be 3rd never mind style?
  25. very true we should really give up on trying to improve and let MW lead us down. can you not win with style? Pretty positive you can If what I'm hearing is true mcparland leaving has nothing to do with a lack of funds and more to do with his own behaviour anyway. If true and it's a big if ,good riddance
