We need both. We are supposed to be a big club. Imagine how humiliating it would be to do without one?

Stuart McCall at Rangers would be another disaster waiting to happen. McInnes on the other hand would be a fantastic appointment.

The Rangers hating media wouldn't need asked twice to take the boards side against the good of the club. Ally wouldn't stand a chance no matter how many pals he has in the media.

9 times out 10 the pressure from the rushing player puts the attacker off. There is no defence for that sort of free kick Zappa, it simply shouldn't be our best bet for scoring from dead balls. This is where training comes into it. Guys like Koeman, Beckham, Juninho P and Nakamura all worked on their dead ball ability at their respective training HQs throughout their careers, Nakamura was still working on his into his 30's. He was so influential he influenced guys like Sean Maloney, Riordan, Mulgrew and Graham Carey into wanting to do the same. Credit to them and through gritted teeth credit to the Celtic coaches for encouraging it too. I personally don't want our kids growing up thinking a one touch, smash hit and hope free kick is a way ahead. It's horrible to watch and must be soul destroying for any player with ambition and ability to better their own game to see.
-
Which is still off target and is the closest Jig has ever come to executing one on goal, iirc. It's a dreadful lazy tactic which lacks ability, technique, creativity and balls and very very rarely works out. We would be as well rejecting the free kick and passing it back to the keeper. It's embarrassing that we are still relying on hit and hope.
-
Or even hitting target from a dead ball. It's so so frustrating and disappointing. Very amateurish in fact.
-
Somewhat patronising, we can all see certain players are not giving 100% and we have yet to see any fruits of our technical training drills.

I read we offered him £16k a week and Celtic offered slightly more which is why we were left with egg on our faces.

C****c in top 40 of world football earners list
Super Cooper replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
We can only dream of a £75m turnover. Our highest ever was £65m and i don't see us topping that ever again. -
Not me, i am putting it out there and leaving it at that. Off for some shut eye now. Have a nice evening.

I am not ignorant of anything, i know perfectly well like us all what has happened in that time but i refuse to use it as some sort of excuse or need to be a victim. I dusted myself down the day we went in to administration and got on with it. You seem to want to pointlessly harp back.

I have no desire to go down that road with you, none whatsoever. The forum and it's members deserve better than some petty squabble clogging the threads. PM me if you have a problem or nip round for some tea at a more convenient time is you so wish.

Rubbish, that's just another rubbish excuse to pardon the acceptance of mediocrity sweeping our fans. In fact, it's a shameful deflection.

What situation? We are a lower league club with a £20m annual turnover, we have a huge squad with international football players, a whole entourage of coaches, physios, doctors and fitness gurus, 36000 season ticket holders, a world class training facility, 40odd thousand average crowds every second week, the willingness to pay our players thousands of pounds per week with huge bonuses, 5.5million fans worldwide and we are playing against guys who work on ice cream vans and gut fish for a living. What situation is making the management teams job so hard? What am i missing here?

I also wish, i truly wish that one day someone will be able to quote a post from a Rangers fan stating that he or she wants us to play like Barcelona. That has got to be up there with the most annoying phrases ever used on Rangers forums. The amount of times i see and hear people using it with absolutely no evidence is incredible. Personally i don't want to watch us passing the ball backwards and sideways for 90% of the match terrified to shoot from range trying to desperately walk the ball into the net, f*ck that. I would rather watch paint dry. Also fwiw, me personally, my opinion on Ally has absolutely hee haw to do with anything this board have said, leaked or done, it's sadly all Allys own doing.

Please don't judge me as a fan, you know nothing about me Tom. I don't think i am in the minority quite yet but i am a football fan first and foremost not an accountant, politician or mathematician and my priority is the football team. All this hatred and venom towards the board is getting people nowhere, it is making the board even stronger yet more toxic and deflecting from what i feel should be number one priority, our football team. I am on the brink of walking away, i am sick of it. Not because of the board of people i don't trust, fwiw i didn't trust SDM either, but because i don't enjoy the football anymore. The only thing that keeps me going back is my desire for my son to grow up and love and support the club like i did. It will break my heart to see him lose interest but it's happening, right now, that threat is very real. Yes we are winning but those results don't even fool a 7 year old kid anymore, they obviously don't fool me either.

A first team squad of say 30 which we tend to carry would mean an average wage of around £10k. Some on 5, some on 20 maybe. 20 still wouldn't get us the Joe Ledleys or Scott Browns though. It couldn't even get us the Kris Commons or Samaras'. I spoke before about matching Celtic financially and i think this is key for our board. We must find a way of being able to compete with them financially without crippling ourselves. Either that or we accept we are second biggest and second best and simply plod on into mediocrity.
