I would keep Papac as well. I think he's shown enough in the latter part of the season for him to be worthwhile keeping. Sionko's been missing but is he fit? If he's fit and isn't even getting a place on the bench then its obvious Wattie doesn't fancy him.

Aye it was a nice finish. Hibs' second was a cracker but what about Hibs keepers and Charlie Adam free kicks?

To answer my own question. I read a thread on FF that after we equalised to make it 1-1, a fan took out and started waving a Union Jack. This is what prompted the Police to wade in and that if it wasn't for his fellow bears who stood firm, he would have been arrested. The thread mentioned that there was nothing written on the flag and also that a police sergeant apologies afterwards. This kind of thing is really getting out of control.

That would be typical of Rod Petrie, i.e stupid! If I were a Hibs fan I would be more concerned with getting the best price I could rather than feeling bitter about the Riordon deal. At the end of the day, Hibs got decent money for a player who was, give or take a couple of months, out of contract. What more does he want in today's transfer market? IMO it would be irresponsible of the Hibs chairman not to get the most money and if it's offered by Celtic then he should take it.

Ordinarily I would agre about run of the mill SPL players but disagree about Rangers having any similar players to him. He's an old fashioned target man who's good in the air. Who from the current Rangers squad fits that bill? Juffery mentioned Emile Heskey to me today. Whilst I wouldn't be keen on him per se, the qualities he has (at least in the past) are that he's tall, physical, strong in the air and generally a good target man. Thats why I feel Killen would be a decent shout as he would be within our budget (i.e. free), his wages wont cost the earth; and he would add a bit of variety to our attack.

It's funny how so many people have been turned off by the Gretna fairytale in recent months. I think it's great for Scottish football and it keeps things fresh when new teams come up into the SPL and hoepfully they can have as good an impact as ICT.
-
That was my first thought. I heard something out personal reasons that would remain private and that it was the 'right time to go'. Apparently theres a press conference tomorrow so no doubt more will come out then...

Shocking behaviour. I hope the RST takes this up with the relevant people. I heard on the radio that the police were going into the Rangers end during the game? Can anyone shed any light as to why?
-
Blames Hibs for not offering him a 2 or 3 year deal as the reason he is leaving. I say snap him up. I know not everyone is happy with us signing SPL players but I think he could do a job for us. Whats everyone's thoughts?

£1m seems like the going rate for a player of his standing given that he's still contracted. He's had a couple of good seasons and is a good prospect. I think we can all see his potential so I would be all in favour of us signing him. As for the debate surrounding the club's ambition - this summer will reveal a lot. WS needs funds to rebuild the squad and if he doesn't get it then I guess we will get our answer. Lets just be realistic about things as well. It's not always about how much a player costs but also his wages.

Jon's Aunty, eh? I'm sure some of your relatives would be delighted to see some of the filth you've posted on here in your time?!

Welcome aboard kaz!

Wow. He's still only 19 if I recall correctly. Stunning stuff.

Love him or loathe him he's been top scorer (so far) in the SPL for 2 seasons in a row which cant be bad. One of things that annoys me about him is that he seems to go through phases were he's really motivated and then phases where he looks like he cant be bothered. Perception doesn't tell the whole story but does he really need a sheepshagger coming out and slagging him or the team every week to give him the wherewithall to score a hat-trick in the first 30 mins of every game? Surely for a self professed blue nose that he is, pulling on the light blue jersey is motivation enough?!

apparently not the case.... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=murray-pledge-over-ibrox-revamp%26method=full%26objectid=18972374%26siteid=66633-name_page.html However it's a Keith Jackson exclusive so take from that what you will....

it was on the back page of the daily rebel today. apparently a 3 year plan to increase the capacity to aound 57k by lowering the pitch and replacing the screens in the 2 corners which will require cantilever support as with the govan stand.

Official site says we're 2-0 up!

Sebo brings comedy value to the team but we need a striker with touch, vision and finishing ability. Not too many of them in our transfer budget at the moment unless SDM takes a nosebleed and decides to give WS the funds to spend that we've been crying out for.
-
Do you think Healy would run riot? His record in Championship footy is very ordinary although his form for Northern Ireland is spectacular. If we can get him cheap then he would be worth a shot and i suppose in the market were playing we need to take a chance on certain players. I suspect he would cost too much just to buy him - probably the majority if not all of our transfer budget during this transfer window which, for me, would not make him a wise investment.
-
There's talk of the Bosko Balaban being a target. Didn't exactly set the heather alight down south but could be a player in the Dado mould. Definitely need a big name striker. We've been saying that for the past few seasons but it's even more apparent that Boyd needs someone to play along side. For midfield I cant see past Barry. He has his faults but his attacking goalscoring qualities seem to be coming back to the fore under Walter. I can see Lee McCulloch joining in the summer to beef up the left midfield. Scott Brown would be a great signing but as you mention he might be priced out of our league. After that I agree on the right back cover but I think we need an experienced goalie to back up AM. In order of preference I'll go for 1. Balaban/Koevermens 2. Brown 3. Experience GK 4. McCulloch 5. New Right Back Those are the minimum 5 players I feel we must get. Also I think we need a few good squad players to add to the squad to cover for injuries and suspensions.
-
We cant win all the time and I dont believe SDM thinks it's acceptable to be 2nd best. I think it's hard being 2nd best when you've become accustomed to being the best but for me it's swings and roundabouts. We'll be back - I just hope it's sooner rather than later.
-
Based on our form since Walter took over I'm convinced we're not that far away from them. A player like Nakamura really is the difference between the sides.
-
2-1 Nakamura free kick.

1-1 so far. Keep Believing!
