Your right the main stand is a monument and has to keep it's outside features. Apart from that they can demolish the lot. I don't think they built the other stands to add a new tier at a later date so they will need to demolish to build.

I loved jim Baxter as a football player but unfortunately he chose to ruin his life with Alcohol as far as i know, that was his decision. I did not say this out of a biased standpoint as i would say the same over a Rangers player. I had a boy of 17 die at my feet on a football field, he got three lines in a local newspaper. Young lives are lost every day from heart failure Phil O Donnels family are not the only family in mourning this weekend believe me. Many parents with new born kids are at this moment finding out that their new born Baby has a serious heart defect and will need open heart surgery tomorrow to save them. Phil o donnel is a needle in the haystack believe me.

To be honest i have nothing with Phil o'Donnel. I think it is terrible that a young man loses his life so soon. Every week young soldiers lose their lives in IraQ or Afghanistan and have nothing like the press that one man on a football field had. They are no larger or smaller than Phil o'Donnel. I will say please donate to the Heart fund. Not for Phil o'Donnel but for the simple fact you may need their knowledge yourself one day. Sorry if i upset some people with this but i find the whole Phil o'Donnel thing blown all out of proportion.

Beyond economics: How Much Will Selling Alan Hutton Cost Us?
pete replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Even if Hutton did knock back Spurs waiting for a better offer, it still shows he has a level head in not jumping into the first offer. Only about 4 teams in Britain can hold on to or buy top class players and we are unfortunately not one of them. He has no Guarantee that a better club will come for him so that means in the short he wants to be a teddy bear. -
There are many articles on here that i am sure would be great for your main site. I think you should ask Frankie if you can copy them onto your site. I don't see why he wouldn't let you do it as long as you mentioned the Gersnet at the bottom of the column. It would also give you the choice to pick and choose. I don't think many posters on here are looking for the "your team are crap"discussions so i will be surprised if many join your forum

Sorry mate i only want to discuss Rangers. I read two posts from Andy the Celtic supporter and nearly spewed my guts up.I am not interested in" you did this we done that" discussions. That is why i left the BBC site. I do commend you with your site though it looks good.

I was on Gersforums and it is a good site but you really have to be carefull what you say and do. I had made 11 posts and got a pm from a moderator telling me i could get banned for posting a link to a video stream of a Rangers game. I never even posted the link although i did use it and thanked the poster who posted it. Great site but the moderator's need to chill out and relax the rules a bit. I don't know the history but one guy got banned for posting in the wrong section. I still love the freedom of the Gersnet.

HUTTON WAITS FOR MANYOO Far from turning down Tottenham to commit his future to Rangers, the probability is that Alan Hutton is waiting to see if Manchester United will bid for his services. Despite Spurs agreeing an £8m fee with Rangers on Thursday night, it is understood that Hutton wants to bide his time before providing a definitive answer. According to The Guardian, 'Hutton, who has produced outstanding displays for Rangers and Scotland recently, is aware of tentative interest from elsewhere in England, most notably from Manchester United and Newcastle United, and is willing to bide his time.' ManYoo require a new right-back with Gary Neville out of action for ten months and Wes Brown refusing to sign a new contract. Sir Alex Ferguson is a fan of Hutton, describing him as a future "superstar" after Scotland's match with Italy in November. 'As a close friend of Rangers' manager Walter Smith, who was briefly Ferguson's assistant at United for three months in 2004, the United manager is well-placed at Rangers, where he once played, to make his own Hutton enquiry,' says The Independent.

I believe Thomson is on his last yellow card before getting a ban. St Mirren and Gretna coming up. He or anyone else in danger, surely must be looking to clear their account. SSSHHH i never said that.

Saturday, 5 January 2008 -----------------------------Time-----TV Falkirk v Aberdeen------------15:00 Hearts v Kilmarnock-----------15:00 Inverness CT v Gretna---------15:00 Rangers v Dundee United-------15:00 St Mirren v Hibernian-----------15:00 Sunday, 6 January 2008 Motherwell v Celtic--------POSTPONED --------------------------------------------------------------------- Falkirk v Aberdeen Two teams showing really good form over the last few weeks. Aberdeen won at home to an in form Inverness Caley, and Falkirk went to Rugby park to take the spoils against Kilmarnock in a 0-1 win. Aberdeen are one point in front of Falkirk but both have the exact same goal difference of -1. Falkirk have scored six goals more than Aberdeen so if you take the 7-2 defeat by Rangers into account then Falkirk do actually have a better record. I fancy a draw for this one. Draw. Hearts v Kilmarnock Hearts are so unpredictable that this game can go any way. Both lost last time out with Hearts being reduced to eight men. They miss the three players sent off on Saturday but nobody really knows if that is good or bad, considering Romanov picks the team. I think Hearts will win this one if they can finish with eleven players. Hearts win Inverness CT v Gretna Gretna have made a big improvement over the last few weeks only losing to Celtic and completing a double win against Dundee Utd. Inverness were stopped in their tracks against Aberdeen at Pittodrie but up until then had taken some super scalps including that of Celtic. Inverness at home. Far travel for Gretna, Must be a Caley win. Inverness win Rangers v Dundee United Never an easy game for us and they beat us 2-1 in Dundee. The last time they came to Ibrox they played super negative and we whipped them 5-0.We will be hoping for more of that.I will settle for less and go for a 2-0 Rangers win. Rangers win. St Mirren v Hibernian Another game that could go any way. Hibs have been rank rotten of late and only had two draws in December against Celtic and Falkirk while losing to Aberdeen, Inverness and Rangers. St Mirren have been slowly catching Hearts but bottom placed Gretna have been creeping nearer to St Mirren making the fight for relegation a bit more interesting. I will stick my neck out here and go for a St Mirren win. St Mirrren win. Sunday, 6 January 2008 Motherwell v Celtic--------POSTPONED Rightly so. Motherwell need time to get back on track.

Agree again but i applaud him for not jumping at the first piece of bait thrown to him.
-
Totally agree there is not a right or wrong except taking a moral high ground and making a political stance. Not the right moment for that. if people disagree then they must try and change things via the trust or supporters clubs to contact Rangers to set a straight line. Silence. Applause. Or the families wishes. Surely we can be flexible in this.

Great read. Disagree with the clothing part. I would rather have a good manager in a tracksuit than a donkey in a suit.
-
Personally i prefer the silence option. I find it downright ignorant that anyone cannot respect a minute silence whether they like the person or not. In modern times the minute applause has been accepted as a means of respect and everyone should respect that. It is good to have principles but bad to accept change. Everyone should clap.

I dont know if anyone else was due to do this or Gribz will be back on but if so then feel free to scrap it. Rangers V Dundee Utd After our unexpected rest during the festive season the first big issue on Saturday will be a one minute applause in respect of Phil oDonnel. A directive from the SPL has asked all teams to hold the applause before the kick-off. Reading through other forums the last few days this seems to have split the Rangers support with many refusing to applaud and preferring a minutes silence. Rangers have no choice in this as the SPL made the decision probably projecting the wishes of the family. This is not a time to make a political stand in my opinion so hopefully everyone will show their respect and put there hands together and clap. Apart from the only long term injury steven Smith, Lee Mc Culloch is doubtful and probably be out for three games now as he has a two match ban kicking in after Saturday. Charlie Adam and Nacho Novo are available for selection again. Rangers had a much improved performance at Hibs last time out and the chances will be that Walter Smith will keep the same starting line-up. Adam replacing Hemdani is also a possibility judging on Walter not playing Hemdani in the SPL games. Dundee Utd bounced back from a run of defeats with an impressive victory against Hearts on Wednesday but an undisciplined performance by Hearts saw them reduced to eight men. Going with past performances United will come in the hope to smother the midfield and play a 4-5-1. Barry Robson has been in fine form of late and could be rewarded with a move to celtic(at least in wages) so he will be looking to impress. He does have a good goal tally for the season but most have come from penalties or free kicks. We certainly have to worry about giving stupid free kicks away around the 20 yard area. Rangers squad:: McGregor, Hutton, Weir, Cuellar, Whittaker, Burke, Ferguson, Hemdani, Thomson, Cousin, Darcheville, Naismith, Carroll, Adam, Broadfoot, Boyd, Furman, Novo. I think walter will keep the same team as against Hibs and that was: McGregor Hutton Cuellar Weir Whittaker Burke Ferguson Hemdani Thomson Naismith Cousin

From what i have read Gaz he is biting his agents and O'Niels hand off to move to Rangers. It was supposedly set up until O'Niel slapped an extra year on his contract. Rangers thought they were getting him for nothing but will now have to fork out 1.5mill which probably will dampen our interest this window.
-
Craig, some people were shouting for his head the first 3 or 4 games of this season because he was supposedly rubbish. I thought he was brilliant before his injury but he has only really shown any real high money form since September.
-
Hinkel means to hop on one leg in German\Dutch. I don't know if that says anything about him.
-
I hope his family really are now left in piece to get on with their lives. RIP Phil
-
You mean your not drunk now!
-
I do. He has only shown that form for half a season now and is only an International of late. Honest price imo.
-
I quite like cousin and he seems to have found some form in recent weeks. I was reading an Aston Villa Forum over Moore and they were saying it is time for him to go because he is lazy and doesn't seem to be interested in showing his true potential. So it would look like he is cast from the same dye as cousin. The difference being cousin has proven he can score goals.
