Totally disagree. He was signed as a first team pick. Can't agree with this. Our first team against Motherwell will, at this point, feature the new signings like Letizi, Clement and so on, plus the old guard like Rod, Prso and Ferguson. I cannot see N'Daiye etc being a starter already. Wanted him to stay. This doesn't mean he considered him our star striker. Interestingly we didn't offer to increase his salary. Not really the sign of a player we were going to bill as our main goal getter. Total matter of opinion. I rated him as well, but this isn't a debate about how good PL is. Not to me it doesn't. I'm led to believe we're £1.5M away from their target. Or at least offering only half. Don't know where you're getting £200,000 from.
-
There's also a question of prudence. Having the money is one thing. Wasting it on overpriced players is quite another. I mean looking at Wigan spending 5.5M on a donkey like Heskey? Jesus wept...
-
So the 7 or 8 signings we've made ... how do they fit in? Em, no. We only wanted to keep him. Nowhere was PLG quoted as saying PL was to be our star striker. And you clearly knew I meant targets, not existing players. The Arsenal reserve is being targeted as cover as far as I can tell. To enhance the squad. No way is he targeted as a main striker partner for Boyd/Prso. He's a businessman who probably has too much power - but I haven't seen any evidence that he doesn't have our best interests at heart. It sounds more to me like you just don't like him.
-
So, what do you want then? Who do you want to see run the club?
-
He also infinitely trusts and puts faith in PLG. First choice was Elmander. Then Sebo. So where do you get 4 from? Martin Bain has more power than you realise... Looks it to me.
-
Ever since they moved to Delli Alpi their crowds have dwindled badly. It's usually about a third full for most Serie A games.
-
I understand your anger. Hell, I share it. But you seem to be taking every opportunity you can to slander Rangers.
-
I'm absolutely stunned by this. Scunnered. There appears to be no plausible explanation either.
-
Very anti DM post there. What tells you DM is holding the purse strings? Because from what I've seen PLG seems to be dictating the price we're willing to pay, not DM.
-
Letizi. Wish I had the foggiest about finance.
-
I think we could afford it, I think it's still a question of valuation. PLG believes a player is worth a set amount and that amount is what we're willing to pay. I don't believe DM is to blame at all - I think he is simply going by PLG's wishes - if PLG agreed Sebo was worth 2.5M I think we'd have signed him by now. Who here thinks that in the modern transfer market a player who used to play for Artmedia and is currently living it up in Austria is actually worth almost 3M? I trust PLG and his judgement.

It appears we're not getting Filip Sebo. "Rangers appear to have missed out on striking target Filip Sebo. Austria Vienna have told BBC Sport that, following a meeting of directors on Tuesday, they have decided to end negotiations with Rangers. "We have told Filip we will not let him go and there will be no transfer to Glasgow Rangers," said a spokesman. The Austrians, who begin their domestic campaign on Tuesday night against Graz AK, say that Rangers failed to meet their valuation of the 22-year-old. Rangers had been warned that Vienna were seeking double the original offer of about £1.2m. It appears that the Ibrox outfit did increase their bid, but Vienna wanted Rangers to meet their valuation before the start of their own league campaign. The coaches know I want to leave and understand my situation Austria Vienna striker Filip Sebo The Vienna spokesman could not say whether the situation would change if Rangers now met their valuation - or did not reach the group stages of the Champions League. "Filip was honoured to be wanted by a club like Rangers, but he is happy to stay," he insisted. It has been reported that Sebo would make a direct plea to the Austrians' general manager to allow him to join Rangers. "I have asked for a meeting with Mr Kraetschmer to tell him I want this sorted out," said Sebo. "The coaches know I want to leave and understand my situation, but it isn't up to them - it's up to the owners." Markus Kraetschmer had told the Sunday Express: "The offer has been improved slightly. But, for me, it is not a very interesting proposal. "Sebo is an important player for us and our main sponsors have already said they want to build a team around him." Ibrox boss Paul Le Guen had turned his attention to Sebo after losing out on Sweden international Johan Elmander, who opted to join Toulouse. Sebo joined Vienna from Artmedia Bratislava last summer and scored 22 goals in his first season as they completed a league and cup double." Didn't realise he was a former Artmedia player...

And never will.

The guy is a great age and scoring freely in the Austrian league. I admit it's not exactly Spain but nonetheless he has a good reputation and I think he's worth shelling out a few extra pence for. But it's not my choice.
-
I'd sooner believe the tosh the Sun comes out with than an anonymous post on the web referring to what 'his m8 told him'. No offence.
-
What on earth is making you lose control?
-
So what started out as a xenophobic rant against every Italian has now changed to 'the few I don't like'. Dunn, you need to think very carefully about the things you say.
-
It's not as big an issue as you'd think, as out of their 3 main rivals (Inter, Fio and Juve), only 1 remains, and even a slightly weaker Milan is still stronger than than the likes of Roma and Reggina etc. I can't see a massive Milan exodus - the lack of European football is the main sticking point for them. afaik Rino's already committed to them and I'd be surprised if the likes of Nesta, Gila ... cripes, I'm trying to think of the other big stars and actually, Milan are not that strong. Dida, Khaladze, Nesta, Maldini, Jankulovski, Serginho, Rino, Seedorf, Gourcuff, Vogel, Gila, Amoroso, Inzaghi... It's an ageing side with literally 2 star players now that Sheva's left.
-
I'm not a betting man - I just know how pish Inter are in Serie A.
-
It's their own fault that you're being racist to them? Is this a wild leap of logic which only applies in Dunnland?
-
You've *really* let me down with this post and your previous one. I thought you were alright as well.
-
Well given their nearest rivals will be Inter, I wouldn't have too much fear...
-
Go to hell you racist idiot.
-
Ignore it then.

We have to bring some perspective to it; it was our second match in 3 days, and it was a shadow team of which maybe one of the starters (Rod) would actually start against Motherwell - *possibly* Smith as well. The pitch was also very poor. Sundowns were alright, nothing special, but we really did just play downright badly - I wouldn't be too worried though - it's better to know we're not the finished article than to hump a bunch of nobodies and think we're world beaters.
