  1. Ok, first of all you're calling Whittaker one our best players and trying to pay a king's ransom to him to make him stay, and now you're saying Carlos Cuellar is not worth £3M and won't go that high to sign him? Call this kneejerk as fuck, but I am not happy with McCoist if this kind of decision making is going to punctuate his management. In fact I'm utterly pissed off with him so far.
  2. Haha, apologies. So used to Ian posting these kinds of stories I didn't even look. You're welcome Albert
  3. He has to be complimentary to his new club. By the looks of the final line, I suspect his missus had more than a hand in the move. And tbh he's probably also being paid more there.
  4. No new quotes, pure waffle tbh. I saw this headline on the front of the times and clearly it was an article and headline designed to sell papers. Yeah, I know, wow, eh? A newspaper doing that! I've seen a dozen different stories quoting a particular player as being on top of Ally's list, bit tired of it. That all said...like you Ian, I'd be thrilled if we have him over the next few days. I'm just hoping we've upped our bid in the last day to an acceptable level and serious moves can be made to bring him back. But the sheer lack of new news on the deal is a little perturbing.
  5. Bain was onto a cushy number at Ibrox and the new regime clearly wasn't happy with him, nor were any of the rest of us. I don't really think he has a case.
  6. Quite possibly the craziest statement any Scottish club has ever made. Mad Vlad's taken it to a new level here.
  7. I'm all for a team GB at the Olympics as long as there is fair representation from all 4 nations. I cannot see why this would affect anything else. Good example is it's team GB at the Olympics, but this has never forced a team GB at the Commonwealth.
  8. Ok, we lost Weiss, Healy and Diouf. Who's out of contract?
  9. We've apparently offered yet more - another deal is on the table. For some reason Ally absolutely loves this guy and wants him to stay at pretty much all costs. I can't even say In Ally We Trust yet because clearly he hasn't earned it. Steven Whittaker is not worth this.
  10. I wouldn't say 3 years is too quick. He was very good during the run in of 52, but otherwise he's been average at best and I think he's had enough chances.
  11. I think you posted this for a reaction. And you got one from the inimitable Gazza.
  12. I posted this a week ago. You heard it fae me first
  13. Edu's move to Blackburn has now made Talksport. Apparently we've been bid £1M but we want 2. Wages are supposedly £25k. A deal is there to be done, just a matter of time before he leaves.
  14. I think we'll up the bid for Cuellar to £2.5M and try our luck with that. I think we can afford to pay a wee bit more for him. Under the old regime we clearly couldn't. Albeit if it's a question of what we can afford, how the hell did we manage to shell out the £4M for Jelavic?
  15. SDM only came out with this stuff once he basically decided he was selling. As for the stadium being dormant, well the hospitality is all year round, and there's the occasional concert there. I wouldn't say there are many stadiums which are in intensive use all the time.
  16. If Allan McGregor or Jelavic came out with the same attitude, I'd be quite pleased to get rid of them as well. I accepted Miller leaving because we were skint and he was being offered huge riches from Bursa. But Whittaker has been offered apparently 3 times his wage, and still rejects it. Obviously sees the money in Turkey and wants a slice of that pie. But he doesn't exactly deserve it. Players who do not want to be here can fuck off.
  17. Supposed to be a second part to it, but I had to wait 45 minutes for the first part so I wasn't wasting the rest of my time waiting all over again for part 2. Whyte still isn't at ease doing this sort of thing, speaking nervously and without much assurance. His answers were very short and not exactly informative. Basically we didn't learn much we didn't already know. (PS - Jim, it's not Cuellear)
  18. Maybe I'm the only one here who feels this way, but Whittaker is coming across like a total money grabbing prick and his agents words almost sound utterly hostile to the club. He's not exactly great, and I've heard we offered to triple his wages to keep him, but he's rejected that. From here on in Whittaker is in my 'strong dislike' list, and I am now looking forward to getting rid. Rangers, accept a few quid less to get this mercenary arsehole off our books.
  19. I wasn't bothered, but I am now starting to get just slightly irritated at the lack of hard signings. All the players we're in for is starting to test my patience because so far we're not getting any of them.
  20. Love how the Cuellar headline on the BBC has changed. It was 'Villa want 3M for Cuellar' and has now changed to 'Villa reject Rangers Cuellar bid'.
  21. I really hate players, who aren't that great, holding the club to ransom financially. Boyd did it and I've hated him ever since. Whittaker may just end up the same.
  22. I'd say Whittaker merits about £12k - 15k. If he's been offered more than that and still rejects it, he can leave. Unlike Miller Whittaker has never been sensational for us. Not even close.
  23. btw apparently Bursaspor have agreed in principle terms with Whittaker. If our valuation is matched, he's off.
  24. I know, that's why this bid worried me. If it happens. Wouldn't it be better if...you know, you, like, just agreed with me?
