  1. I didn't think BD had counted at all and was merely taking the piss because of the sheer number of names listed. Deco, Cole, Ballack etc would do me.
  2. I haven't agreed with many of your posts before (), but I agree stongly with the above one.

I don't see why it's wrong to say some players played worse (or better) than others? It's what dominates pub conversations and the media throughout the week. Slightly bizarre defence of favoured players. Sure sometimes we say you can't singularly blame one player for a poor team performance, but nor do we compeltely gloss over individual poor performances.
  4. "Boruc was really floundering there!" Makes a meal of getting a touch on a hopeful long range effort.

Lol. Pish at Rangers, but it's everyone else's fault was what I was looking for. Harsh on Buffel somewhat though.

Buffel PLG Rothen. All have something in common......
  7. Didn't read this properly when posted on here. Was only when someone pointed it my way elsewhere. But I would recommend everyone read this. It's a very interesting read on how Rangers are trying to develop our youth programmes in conjunction with the schools. One thing i'm unsure of is how the sports science and lectures ties in with the 10,000 hour rule? Are Rangers incluidng the time spent in sports science sessions as part of this 10,000 hours and if they are, should we be doing that? Surely the 10,000 hours refers to specific football skills and tactics training and not physical preparation or lectures? I'm sure Pete, Big Spliff and others may find it interesting. Ps. Be aware, 7 pages long.
  8. "Also we've not conceded more than one per game and 4 of the 9 were in games when we already had a 2 goal cushion." Also read the above.
  9. On this page if you scroll down to the 3rd qualifying round and the 4th play off round you will see a gap between teh two sets of fixtures. If you take the 3rd round, the top half of fixtures is all between champions e.g. Copenhagen won the Danishe league. Celtic, Lisbon, Panathinaikos etc did not win their leagues. The qualifiers split in two with the Champions getting the "easier" route without big guns from Spain, England etc. The journo's have been told this before. They're just inept.
  10. Not if we qualified as Champions we wouldn't. We'd be in the other side of the qualifiers to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
  11. Not sure I see the difference myself. Just think it suits people's argument to support it when we're winnning yet slate the same tactics when we're not. Personally I don't necessarily think it's the end of the world playing an attacking 4-4-2 with 2 wide/forward players on the flanks. It's easy to criticise in hindsight. Like all tactics and formations it has it's weaknesses, leaving us open to being over run in midfield. However, it is an attacking outlook which people have asked for.
  12. I was looking at this earlier actually. We're 2 points worse off than we were at this point (15 games) compared to last year. Celtic had 40 points at this point iirc. Hibs who are in 3rd had 3 more points than the 3rd placed team (Hearts I think) at the same point last year. So the OF are a little worse off (well Celtic quite a bit worse off) whereas the also-rans have improved a little. Kind of what we'd all suspected. Hope this takes you to the right table: Last year: http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/tables/0,,5~20081122,00.html This year: http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/tables/0,,5,00.html
  13. The book title is real! How has Nacho not been accused of being singularly responsible for sectarianism in this country!
  14. The results and ranking of the national team are a completely seperate entity to that of the club's from that nation and their ranking.
  15. Admittedly our defensive record in Europe was embarrassing, but i've heard today we've conceded just 9 goals in 15 games this season. Typically defence minded outlook from Smith, but his teams were always built from the back first. It's how he fixed PLG's team. Keep the back door bolted shut like that and it will be difficult for anyone to prevent us retaining the title. Match that defensive strength with the attacking prowess of last night (I missed that game ) and it would be a nailed on certainty. Obviously there's a long way to go, don't count your chickens etc etc. But thats pretty ominous for our challengers. I've also read no team in Scotland has breached our defence twice in one game this season. Is that correct. Same old Wattie, awesome at home but struggles on the continent?
  16. I'd love that story about the book to be true.
  17. Is this not the formation Eck was pilloried for playing? Some fans likened it to a 4-2-4 with the wide men essential playing as auxialliary forwards leaving the midfield over run. So what was the difference last night?
  18. Like Norris i'll fill it out at a later date. However, yes we pay too much. No fans would unlikely pay more. Being charged too much is a neccesary evil if we do not want the standard of the football and squad to sink even further. Summed it up for you.
  19. I didn't expect this to turn out an attack on his credentials as potential captain, nor slate him for his off-field demeanour. I just remember fondly the slaggings McGeady, Samaras and Caldwell (the last in particular) have taken for opening their gob and writing the opposition manager's team talk for him. Do we need to give our opponents any more motivation. It appears, in this country at least, the greatest motivating factor is seeing Rangers lining up in the tunnel beside you. We don't need to fuel the opposition any more than competing against the countries biggest side already does. In any case, Thommo was right tonight.
  20. 5 more to break the record apparently with 4 games prior to the OF.
  21. Hope Thomson hasn't produced a "Caldwell classic" there ahead of a game against our bogey team and one of the strongest sides of the chasing pack.
  22. Aye, it's been a while eh.
  23. Sacked the manager because of the style of play that supposedly led to reduced crowds, no? Now they've got a less succesful manager. Good decision.
  24. Still waiting for your first effort!
  25. Worth his weight in gold. The amount of money he has earnt us is unreal.
