Agree he will be looking to offload some of the duds, although I would be interested in giving Papac one last chance. However with Weir and Ehiogu coming in and doing well, Webster to regain fitness ( I think we will be signing him permanently, infact I think there is something "suss" about his transfer to Wigan but that's another story) and Svensson ahead of him. Not to mention Broadfoot coming in, he could well be off. However his last showing, albeit 45 mins on for the injured Ehiogu before the European tie, was very impressive.

Tbh I don't like the way Cammy and Gribz are trying to force the best players into a formation they don't fit. i.e Thommo as a wide left player. Pick the best players for the best formation. Its like harping back to England and the whole Gerrard/Lampard debate. Like your summation of the Hibs game "WhostheDado". As you say Boyd played badly due to a lack of supply and being isolated and when Prso came on he wasn't any better. So perhaps the arguements against Boyd don't hold much water. I think there are many formations and line-ups we could go with, the "correct" one is anyone which delivers the right result on the night. If Prso can play better than his sub appearances since returning from injury, which have been frankly awful, he has to start. However I too have reservations about him playing from the left, but don't see where else to play him in Smith's preferred formation. I think Smith may go: Klos Hutton Weir Ehiogu Murray Hemdani Thomson Burke___Fergie____Prso Boyd And I think I would be most happy with this. I realise I have attacked Cammy/Gribz for playing players out of position and arguably done the same with Prso, but I think this is the best compromise between our options. Another option is to drop Hemdani/Thomson and make it a flat 4 with Adam coming in on the left. He will rightly feel hard done by if left out, but I think this gives us the best chance of getting the result.

Echo the above sentiments, offer him one more season. Maybe review it again at the end of next season.

Is this the right conclusion? Not disagreeing with Fraser, I don't know their squad, a few names aside. Maybe they were resting players in teh league game. Punal, captain (I think) is suspended. If Milsoevic and Soldado are out surely that must help. How did you get this info Buster?

In a related topic, I was in uni early today and the latest I had seen was Broadfoot in talks but nothing signed yet. Anyway one of my mates (a Tim) came in and told another Tim that Broadfoot had signed for us and expressed his disappointment as "Celtic were after him". Second Tim had a dig at us by saying something along the lines of look at all these big guns Rangers are bringing in. Well, we've signed Broadfoot, Thomson and hopefully Brown. They may not be "big guns", but Celtic wanted them and we got them instead. Shouldn't be knocking our signings when they were Celtic targets who have chosen us instead. It's a positive point for next season imo anyway. We may be in a period lacking in success and yet the young players available in Scotland are still picking us over them.

Well done Frankie, shows some papers do care about their reputation and the public's perception of their journalism. Agree with the rest, the least the club can do is publicly state its a last warning. personally though I think that we shoudl have said enough is enough and banned McNee for his latest ill thought attack.

Lol, like it. And cheers Fraser.

Btw is that just the one league victory he's managed then. Progression in the UEFA via two victories over AEk and a Cup win over lower league opposition. League is the bread and butter though and relegation is a distinct possibility now.

I feel the same way mate.
-
Lol. Been a strong feature of our team this season.
-
Voted Weir, strong defensive performance. Honourable mentions to Hutton, McGregor and Adam.

Cheers mate.

Too lazy to type the quote into the thread title. Football Diary: The best of British The Telegraph. By Martin Smith Last Updated: 1:32am GMT 02/03/2007 When Jeff Randall responded to a throw-away question in a Q&A for the Radio 5 Live website, little did he expect to have the answer repeated in two-foot high letters on a banner spanning half the width of the Copland Stand at Ibrox. Asked which team he supported, the BBC's Business News presenter said: "Glasgow Rangers...they are the quintessential British club." It was immediately pounced upon by The Blue Order, a collection of die-hard Rangers fans dedicated to making Ibrox a loud, fun and intimidating arena, and their banner duly made its debut at the Uefa Cup tie against Hapoel Tel Aviv last week. "It was not really a throw-away line because I meant it," says Randall (pictured), The Daily Telegraph's editor at large. advertisement "Quintessential means the very essence, something in its purest form. And the thing about Rangers, it is based in Scotland, but first and foremost it is a British club. A lot of fans come over from Northern Ireland to support, and a lot of English fans, too. Like Barcelona, it is mas que un club [more than a club]: it stands for something in society. It embraces the whole concept of the union of the United Kingdom, and if you go to Ibrox you'll see the union flag is the one flying highest above the stadium." South of the border, Randall supports West Ham; but that's a different story.

Not sure what point your trying to make mate?

No appeal for McGregor.... should Klos play now?
Super_Ally replied to ascender's topic in Rangers Chat
I said I'd wait til the outcome from uefa. Well as the appeal cannot be heard til after the hibs game (the only one before teh first leg) then it think Klos needs to be given match practice. Dropping points to Hibs will not be the difference between 2nd and not imo. And Celtic have already won the league so lets concentrate on the UEFA Cup. -
SO was there any update on this yesterday then guys?

Can't remmebr where I read that, but it was definitely reported somewhere.

Mcdonald will be glad to be leaving the sort of crappy team who loses at home to ST. Johnstone in one of the cups and..... Thought McCormack looked good, very strong at times, which is suprising for such a wee guy.

The ref's report says there was no contact and yet Uefa extend the automatic one game ban?
-
Pretty fair assessment. We've definitely improved and I don't think we can ask for a lot more than that at this stage.

Hemdani is nowhere near Poty for me because he has largely been woeful at the back. Not his fault that he played there, but doesn't change the fact he has been pretty terrible there (odd game aside). With Smith getting injured and not having played in a very long time, BF is the only choice imo. In a season this bad though, who really cares who Poty is?

On FF just states that the club have contacted NOTW re: Gerry's lies, more news in the next few days. Dunno if Frankie can expand? Edit: Just seen you post Frankie. I know what your saying, whilst I'm frustrated I understand it can be necessary to keep it quiet for a while. Will bear it in mind about Contacts. Cheers

Lol. Sounds like good news. It can be frustrating though when someone "in the know" posts something and says to beleive them without any source given. Just got to wait and see I guess.
