  1. I don't think Lafferty gets a hard time at all, considering his contribution to date. IF anything Lafferty is given far more leeway by the fans (as a generalisation) than some of his more succesful team mates and former team mates. Some fans are desperate to see him succeed and so talk him up more than is justified based on what he has done at the club. But that is not necessarily a bad thing and all players should enjoy such fervent backing.
  2. Smith may have been proven right with Miller but lets not go mad. He is not known from predatory instinct nor class finishing in spite of what he demonstrated with a quality strikers goal against Newcastle. More of that this season would be most welcome though.
  3. Whilst that may be true it doens't change the fact that Hemdani was overrated.
  4. Probably a more mature way of putting what I was driving at originally. I came here to discuss the bitterness towards these former players because typically you don't got the extreme views and daftness you get on FF. That wasn't to say all posters on there are like that, but (due to law of averages) you get more trolls, idiots and timposters on there and I couldn't believe genuine and sensible fans felt that way (though it appears I misjudged that).
  5. I stand by my assessment. Decent enough but overrated. It is possible to be both. And Inever bought the "he doesn't tackle because he doesn't have to" line. Football is such a fluid game that no matter how well you read it you will at some point have to make tackles, particularly if your team mates do not read the game as well as you. It is every bit as easy to identify the flaws in Hemdani's game as it is as obvious for Boyd.
  6. If I "lost the plot" it's pretty apparent i'm not the only one. I had started to write a full reply but you're getting pretty emotional and I don't think it would get us anywhere. Ps. The FF generalisation may have been poor form. I was not meaning to tar all posters there with the same brush. Clearly I post there too. I am just amazed by the disproportionate number of nutters/timposters comapred to here and was suprised anyone could hold such extreme views. All been lost now in our quarrel.
  7. You can't try and take a moral or intellectual high ground when you start out by diggind people up for using smilies on an internet forum. I'm quite unsure as to why people do that. Often the inference of a statement can be lost in written medium on the internet. These can be quickly and easily intimated through the use of smilies. Again I am unsure what people think they are demonstrating by attacking people for using them. Often the sign of someone with no actual arguement themselves. And you're opening attack did appear to state that he deliberately fucked us over. If you didn't mean that you should choose your words more carefully. (don't lose too much sleep at the use of the smiley at the end of my post there).
  8. I doubt you take Mark Hateley's view on much else so using that as an arguement is pretty weak. Calling people a cunt on here will not be tolerated so kindly refraining. Especially someone who made such a show of themself over the whole ownership fiasco re:Ellis.
  9. Boro have slipped behind against Ipswich after having taken the lead. Don't really care about their results but would be good to see our former players being succesful.
  10. Rangers beating Newcastle. Hearts drawing with Blackburn. SPL > EPL? :fish:
  11. And the best you have is comments on people using smilies. Shall I chastise you for using the quote function of the forum too? Boyd did not wind down his contract with us purely to fuck us over as your original post suggested. Boyd stayed at Rangers and contributed to us winning the last two titles. Boyd was a fantastic signing for Rangers who decided to move on (largely for financial reasons), making what mnay (myself included) would think is a poor decision for himself. Like every other employee in the world he has the right to move jobs. Just because he made a poor move does not mean he deserves a tirade of abuse. Your warped view on reality will likely be very different to Kris Boyd's and mine. But he did not act purely to fuck teh club overs as you suggest. And whilst many other former employees are allowed to move without excessive abuse despite having contributed far less to the cause. He was an excellent £400k purchase and likely helped make us far more than a couple of million lost in one fee.
  12. Aye so he did. Mind you, you came here from FF so I should expect such a reasoned response.
  13. That's not exactly normal beahviour for two players one of whom was a fantastic buy for us and the other was decent. Comapre and contrast, for example, with the tone in which people like PLG, Clement and Sebo are spoken about.
  14. I think you would need to see some of the comments to realise that it can not be glossed over so easily and is not comaprable to people grumbling about foreigners using us as a stepping stone.
  15. My mind wasn't change by a pre-season friendly, nor was I suggesting anyone's should be. I just fail to see more from Lafferty then Naismith in terms of potential. Was Naismith not part of the team when we were playing well in December?
  16. Watching the game today made me think again about Naismith and Lafferty. I know many fans really expect Lafferty to come good but I think this is mostly based upon other factors such as not wanting us to have wasted such a large fee, his nationality (for some) and also the love of an underdog or someone playing against the odds (e.g. the OTT support Sebo received). I actually think, if he can avoid injury, Naismith has more to offer Rangers. Am I alone in that?
  17. As I said, I can understand them wanting to do well. I can also understand not really caring. I can't understand actively wishing them to fail badly.
  18. Before he went there he was probably universally popular. Provided some amusement on MOTD etc. Soon got infected by their usual nonsense, but nowhere near as bad as many others. Mowbray is quite a likeable Celtic manager too! :spl:
  19. Very good goal. Waddle is doing my head in though. before the game they said they had balance in the commentary box with a Scot and a Geordie. Well the main commentator is not acting like a Rangers cheerleader so could Waddle show a bit of balance. It's not England or an English team against a foreign one. It's two British teams being broadcast on British t.v. so a little bit of balance please ya cock.
  20. Anyone visited FF recently? Reading a thread about the start of Boro's season as obviously Boyd and Thommo have just moved down there. Understandably some fans want to see how former players get on. Others want them to do well as it will reflect more positively on the Scottish game. Some are uninterested and that too is fair enough. But the amount of bile directed at the pair (Thommo to a far lesser extent) is pretty shocking. I'm sure (I think) that even their biggest detractors on here would not be writing bitter diatribes about them. I would like them to do well (though I understand many who want Boro to fail due to the number of mhanks, so hope they do well individually) as they both did us a turn and as said above it will look better for the SPL than if they flop. Strange, strange characters on the internet and i'm not even referring to wabash. :fish:
  21. If he's anywhere near his Chelsea/Barca level he would be a quality signing. Sadly I suspect time has taken it's toll on him? Edit: What's that mince about Larsson?
  22. Advocaat is our best ever manager is he then wabash?
  23. Where's the preview Gribz?
  24. It doesn't matter if you accept it. Smith doesn't answer to you and your view on how he achieves success is irrelevant.
