  1. Apart from a couple of freebies, I haven't set foot in Ibrox and Rangers haven't had a penny from me in over 3 years now. I still consider myself a Rangers supporter.
  2. Like many Rangers supporters, I suppose I'm not too happy with our failure in Europe and Walter is obviously the man to carry the can for that. Without going back in history and dredging up the 10 IAR failure, I don't think that anybody could argue Walter has been a very successful manager for us. Would anybody else have been able to lift that team after the PLG fiasco ? [and I'd prefer to leave the arguement re PLG for another thread.] There are better managers out there. No doubt. But could we afford them ? Would they be willing to come to Ibrox and work with the squad we have in the full knowledge that there's no money to bring in replacements ? And would they be any more successful than Walter in managing the team domestically ? We are at the top of the SPL. Never mind the 'mhanks are p!sh' arguement. I've bought apples from that barrow before. They MIGHT throw a few million at new players in January but given Monkeyheids track record I don't see that making a difference to who'll be champions this year. We are TOP and I for one am certain we'll win the League this season. And even if they DO buy a couple of players, Walter can't be blamed for that. Time to wake up Bears............. There's NO money. NO new signings will be made. We'll have to make do with what's in the dressing room at the moment. And, unless Walter walks away, he'll be there until / if the Club is bought over. Forget Europe. The beancounters at Ibrox have. The SPL is the maximum they are aiming for in the hope we get a monetary bonus of a couple of C.L. qualifiers. I'm NOT happy with that. But that's just the way things are and I don't see any change in the immediate future.
  3. Unless a new owner comes in he IS the next manager of Rangers. I thought that was already taken as read.
  4. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/nov/25/champions-league-rangers-mcculloch Do us a favour Lee and help reduce the wage bill.............I'll carry your cases to the nearest bus stop.
  5. We'll "bloody well stick with Old Father Time" as long as he's winning us the SPL. [refer to my previous post]. I'm not happy with that but, until some billionaire with a blue nose arrives, that's the way I see it.
  6. To the O.P.............................never mind Europe because Rangers have already given up on it. [and I've been saying that since they started moving on anyone with any talent over 3 years ago]. Our ambitions stretch as far as winning the SPL. When there were 2 Scottish representatives it went as far as just qualifying for the C.L. The squad we have are good enough to win the SPL. Any other debate is worthless.
  7. Several years ago when the mhanks got taken over by Ben Turpin and pulled themselves away from receivership I really, REALLY hoped we'd get together and make a push against the governing bodies in this country to say, "F@ck this. WE put the money into the game here. The rest of you are gonna have to change how things are done". I'm old enough to remeber the postscripts after the shambles in Argentina [or further back when the development of our game was questioned by supporters and Press after a 'diddy' Holland team stuck 4 past us at Hampden ] and can guarantee that the square root of hee-haw will change after [if] this report is published in January. Sorry to sound defeatist or depressing but I think know how the clowns running our game operate.
  8. QUOTE: "To be fair, McLeish's report on his review is not due until the end of January 2010 so perhaps the generic suggestions we put together will be mentioned then as I'm sure we wouldn't have been the only ones making certain recommendations. " Frankie, it might be "due" then but will it ever see the light of day ? Or will it be like the last investigation into the state of our game [carried out at great cost by several 'experts' ] and never published ? I can tell you right now what the main conclusion will be..................'there are several recommendations the committee can make but due to the current financial situation this is not posssible. They should be implemented when they can be afforded". Turkeys don't vote for Christmas and it's blindingly obvious that Scotland doesn't need an SFA, SPL, SFL. It needs ONE governing body. Been there. Read the book, etc, etc.
  9. He was off the pace. No doubt. Hopefully, as with Hutton, he'll regain the movement he once had after coming back from a bad injury.
  10. Can't argue with McGregor as our best player. Only others to come anywhere close to him were Papac and the wean.
  11. Info I got [and due to the source I believe it] was, it's definately NOT true.
  12. Can't believe guys are voting to leave out Whittaker. I'd play a lassie before McCulloch.
  13. The stewards and polis act on what the CLUB want [except for clear crimes or offences]. The Club are at fault and have been for quite some time now.
  14. Bougherra has a lot of experience. You can't leave that sitting warming a bench. Keep the wean in and play Bougie instead of McCulloch.
  15. Looks like Walter is becoming cheesed off with the big man too. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/rangers/walter-smith-s-patience-with-awol-defender-madjid-bougherra-is-wearing-thin-1.933611
  16. No doubt he's gone awol. Yesterday McCoist said he wouldn't rule out Bougie playing.

  18. Andy Kerr from the RSA has also supported a boycott.
  19. ...........and then had the cheek to hold his fingers up to his lips after doing it.
  20. I'm well aware of who he plays for Fraser. You'll be too young to remember another guy who failed to do anything in a Scotland jersey yet played for one of the best Spurs teams ever, a guy called John White ? Whatever Fletcher does for Manure, he's done the square root of nothing when playing for Scotland and doesn't deserve another game for us.
  21. With the right manager in charge McGregor and Boyd might reconsider. Scotland have been poor but I've seen nothing from Ferguson which warrants a call-up. [in saying that, I've seen hee-haw from Fletcher to justify his inclusion never mind wearing the captains armband].
  22. The mhanks have been coming out with this guff since the mid 60's.
