Jelavic Signs but unavailable for Sunday

Recommended Posts

i'm happy about this. he's done it against good opposition and he's young. he's exactly the kind of signing we should be looking to make. because he's a striker, if he does it in the CL he'll be worth a fair bit.

Any want odds on a failed medical? :D :D :D :D :P

Or he signs and is croked in his first 5 mins of training during a 50/50 with Weiss putting them both out for the season.......oh no Rozental and Prodan still have ghosts on the training pitch!

Time will tell I guess - but it was mentioned the other day that WS feels we could sell him on for a decent profit in a couple years time - so he obviously rates the guy.

This one, for me, makes the Beattie transfer seem a little much. 1.5 mill for Beattie when we ended up getting Jelavic seems a touch of a waste - sure, we would only have Miller & Jelavic (but lets not forget Velicka, Naismith, Lafferty and even Fleck who are all forwards) but signing Beattie was maybe a touch premature.

The 1.5 mill for Beattie could have been put to use with a central defender to ease the legs of Sir David of Weir (although Webster is decent enough there IF he can stay fit) or even another central midfielder which we could be doing with.

We truly are the worst club in the world at negotiating inward and outward transfers, and the sooner we have real professionals in these positions at the club, the better.

I think Man City take that award... but they are in a sligthly different situation than us financially :)
