[FT] Aberdeen 2 - 1 Rangers (Halliday 79 pen)

Guy's can we cut out belittling each other. We are all disappointed but reading all your squabbling with each other doesn't make it any easier. If you want to squabble go private. Thanks!

Point is, certain people can't help it but to put snide backtalk and essentially goading in here, to vent frustration or just for the sake of some pointless debate or whatever. Just look at post 305. And then you see this reaction by a mod, for the umpteenth time, and know that cometh the day, the same people will be back here trying to get a reaction. And I for one refrain from red-triangling people for such feeble though disrespectful stuff, even though you wonder what occupies these people's minds.

Incredibly frustrating yet again. Dominant in terms of possession but lacking any real cutting edge. How many saves did we force their keeper to make? Not enough. Then we have the typically soft goal we seem to gift in almost every league game, Tav switching off this time.

Defence with Wilson and Hill has actually looked surprisingly decent. Certainly the strongest pairing we've had this season if nothing else.

Midfield looking slightly better now with Halliday & Holt in there however it seems to be our forward line which isn't functioning.

Waggy isn't and won't be a right-winger. We need to realise that. And because of that there is no service or supply to Garner (who also looks to be struggling to adapt to the system).

We need to get the forward line right, and quick.

Agree with this.

Didn't understand moving a striker out wide, after scoring three goals midweek.

For what it's worth, Willie Miller reckoned Rangers could have been three up at halftime and Aberdeen weren't in the game. Don't know what he said at the end.

Willie MIller is right, we were all over them and it should have been buried by halftime. It's all the more frustrating that the defence aside from the massive lapse by Tav at start of the second half have started to look competent and it's now the front line misfiring. Waghorn missed what amounted to an open goal and so did Garner albeit his was with a header.

The thing that's becoming really clear reading through the posts is i think most people agree that the system we are playing isn't working and needs to change.

By all means if we take the lead/grip of the game change into the 4-3-3 but for me we are playing an attacking formation and the attacking part isn't working leaving us vulnerable to high balls down each wing pulling one of the CB's out wide who are being outpaced by wingers.

This "do plan A" better is becoming really frustrating you need to adjust to who your playing and at the moment the gaffer's stubbornness to stick with the system is costing us.

That happened last season. I don't particularly agree it's such a problem now. The first goal yesterday saw everyone in position but just not tracking. The second was a phenomenal free that should never have been awarded. Neither saw the CBs pulled out of position and didn't think Aberdeen caused them that many defensive problems.

I don't particularly think the formation is an issue, especially without Barton and Krancjar starting, but we too casual in attack.
