The Scottish media is reminding us on a daily basis now that Reading and Leeds are checking out John. IMHO, he's solid enough a defender and it would be good to see how he works in combination with Wallace. People will disagree, but IMHO Tav is better as a right-sided midfielder (with some defensive duties), but time and again over these last couple of seasons, we've been made to pay for his lack of concentration and being caught too far up the field. Not questioning his workrate and commitment, of course, yet, he needs to rise to the challenge.

RANGERS are plotting a £1.2million January swoop for Brighton’s ex-Motherwell striker Jamie Murphy.

 

Ibrox director of football Mark Allen is putting together a list of signing targets.

 

SunSport understands Murphy, 28, is high on that list.

 

The former Scotland Under-21 ace left Well for Sheffield United in 2013 before joining Brighton two years ago but has struggled for top-team action and is eager to move on.

 

A loan deal is a possibility but it is believed Allen is pushing to sign Murphy on a permanent contract.

Everyone's looking at Lewis Morgan. Fairly strong rumours that a deal has already been agreed with Celtic where he'll sign for them but remain at St Mirren for another 18 months on loan.

 

Jamie Murphy would be decent signing although £1.2 million is a lot of money for us these days. He's a bluenose too.
