Problems at Ibrox....

...or they are involved in negotiation which is why it’s a clusterf...

Guys like McCoist probably think 7k a week is nothing so they should be kept clear of financial matters in a club like Rangers. But of course Ally was there to front the operation, keep the fans quiet whilst the raping and pillaging went in in the background.

The like of Black were brought in because they were established & fairly highly rated SPL players.  The only way to entice them to join was offering a decent wage, which (from memory) was offset by focusing on free transfers.

What an active imagination you have.

Ally was first team manager, that’s it.  Although if you read some of the utter ill informed nonsense on forums you’d think he was ceo, club secretary, chairman and, according to some of the more deranged, the devil.

He was there to give a sense of reassurance whilst the rest were ripping us off including 2 FDs, a chairman and Uncle Tom Cobley. In the process he did nicely himself.

It's an unpleasent thought but he conciously did that job for a large reward.

He was there to manage the first team.

Kudos again though on your active imagination.

It’s almost childlike naivety to think that managers authorise contracts on behalf of clubs.  Most of them left school at 15 to chase their dream of becoming professional footballers with no qualifications, do you really think they’re negotiating complex contracts on behalf of big businesses like football clubs?!

Actually, seeing as you think there was a ‘golden opportunity’ in 2012 when the club was on its knees then you probably do.

You can kid yourself on all you like , McCoist was offered the players he signed weeks earlier on a fraction of the money , those players changed agents and signed for 4 times the money , you keep kidding yourself on , but look back at who we signed .

who did we have back then apart from McCoist , Green and co were far too busy with bigger fish to bother with small issues like players contracts , when there was millions in an IPO to trouser .

Perhaps in McCoist's own eyes.

But IMHO you are being naïve if you think that from Charles Green's perspective that he didn't think that McCoist would be the one person to keep the fans onside.  Green didn't have to give McCoist penny shares.

So if I was take that narrative as gospel then what you’re saying is the club was such a mess that they entrusted highly complex contract negotiations to a manager who left school at 16 to chase his dream of becoming a professional footballer, all the while operating under a transfer embargo and trying to entice players to drop down to the fourth tier.

That doesn’t sound very feasible, it certainly doesn’t sound like a ‘golden opportunity’.

Even if what you’re claiming is true, then focusing the blame entirely on an inexperienced rookie manager who was trying his best to get a team on the field during the madness of administration, demotion, transferring player contracts under TUPE and everything else seems unreasonably harsh.

Apthough I suppose hindsight is always accurate.  You make it all sound so easy.
