der Berliner 4,271 Posted Sunday at 15:04 Share Posted Sunday at 15:04 Martin was here, he saw what we are up against. If this 4-3-3 trash will go on with inadequate players (and so far we have solely inadequate players to go through a season with that system), 56 will not end up in Govan.
Gazza_8 239 Posted Sunday at 19:05 Share Posted Sunday at 19:05 The names of the potential new managers don't exactly fill me with excitement or optimism. Of course, Ancelotti may be am total success but I can't help but think he's got where he is because of his dad. Gerrard? Meh. Been there done that. Success? Not really. Russell Martin? The worst of the lot.

I understand what you're saying but I fear his style of football, especially in Europe, would have us blown out the water. Maybe he's learned from his numerous failings at Southampton with the whole playing out from the back, pressing all the time and leaving g huge gaps for the opposition to exploit. In all honesty, I wouldn't go near the 3 of them.

I'm kind of flabbergasted by that! Especially from someone who constantly reminds us that the players from our history were infinitely superior to the current incumbents. Perhaps you are suggesting some sort of reverse psychology? Are we starting afresh on day one by clearing out the trophy room and donating the contents to the Govan Scrap Metal Franchise?
pete 2,547 Posted Sunday at 22:44 Share Posted Sunday at 22:44 It looks like Ancelotti to be announced tomorrow or Tuesday. Just going on general opinion and not on in the know.

One minute he's banging on about the Iron Curtain defence or Jim Baxter, the next minute he's saying we should change our home strip or to dismiss our history. Great men know the past, present day and future should all be considered, all the time. That's the same for a football club.

Yes, but if Martin gets the job, @compo's sage like qualities will be revered.
