They have always been like that, however since our troubles I believe they are worse. Thankfully we have Steven Gerrard as our manager who oozes class, is a football super star and is honest whether we win or lose. We have a huge mountain to climb to win this league, bigger than many know! if we win the title this season it would be the greatest ever title win, IMO, and will send them over the edge, which I can't wait for!.3 points

I dont go to friendlies anymore as they rarely give you value and the result is irrelevant, but I may watch this via my RTV sub (that I dont really use anyway) if the new boys are in the starting line-up which I think is a certainty just to see what formation and system we use. Especially with last night being cancelled there is more emphasis in trying to get the first choice team some minutes ahead of 2 hugely difficult trips to Killie & Livvy in the next week.3 points

I think this friendly takes on a different meaning, because the match was cancelled last night I think the team/SG will use this to get back into the swing and could prove to be a very entertaining match!.2 points

On marginal decisions they will want to know the name, address, telephone number and lodge of the VAR!2 points

The winter break is not really anything to do with the weather, which is so unpredictable that it would be impossible to arrange a season's fixtures in the summer to account for what might be the worst of the weather over a whole winter. Last year for example the worst weather we had was at the end of Feb/start of March when snow closed airports and pretty much the whole country. The winter break is exactly that, a break. It gives players the chance to rest, get rid of niggling injuries, for the top clubs to get some warm weather training which is so much better for players than what we can give them at home. Putting this break at the beginning of January makes perfect sense as well as it is in the transfer window and gives clubs time to try to bring players in without the fixtures getting in the way. My personal preference would be to shut down end of November and start back start of March (last year would have been frustrating but that was very rare) and play through the summer with the mid-season break every 2 years for international tournaments. Playing twice a week in these months is much easier than through the winter, for the players, and for fans. As a fan who goes to every game (not friendlies though!) I know I would much rather go in a t-shirt and shorts or simple casual clothing than 5 layers and still not be able to feel your nose or feet.2 points

You're probably right, pete. I fail to see much benefit because, as @ian1964 says, that lot will never accept defeat to us as fair and square.2 points

Coverage: Watch on BBC One Scotland & iPlayer; listen on BBC Radio Scotland 810MW/DAB/online; live text commentary on the BBC Sport website & app Auchinleck Talbot are looking to create history on Saturday in the Scottish Cup against Ayr United. On the three previous occasions the Ayrshire junior side have met senior opposition in the competition they lost, but now they hope to claim their first major scalp when their county cousins visit Beechwood Park in the fourth round. This is the seventh season the Talbot have competed in the Scottish Cup since it was revamped to include Scottish Junior Cup winners and the junior league champions. Their most notable appearance was in January 2012 when they lost to Hearts at Tynecastle by a solitary goal. It ended controversially when a last-minute goal by Gordon Pope was incorrectly ruled out for offside, therefore denying Talbot a replay. Not Rangers news but I know there is a few Talbot fans on here so will move it to general football tomorrow.1 point

Traditionally there have been far fewer Scottish cup shocks compared to England. Only now is it becoming a bit more common. Hopefully we'ere not on the receiving end of one.1 point

Love the romance of the cup. Talbot thoroughly deserved their win. Think the posh pronunciation is , "AffleckTawlbot"!1 point

If the often clickbait bullsh*t tabloids were posters on Gersnet they'd be at best ridiculed and possibly banned for repeat BS.1 point

It seems the wage quoted for Defoe is totally untrue and we’re probably paying closer to 20-25k.1 point

'Even though Johan signed for ra Sellik, played for ra Sellik, and won honours at ra Sellik, he has no connection to ra Club. He is a separate entity'. The above is a statement issued by Peter Lawwell on £30 of software, written in face paint.1 point

Agreed, nobody knows who/how or why incidents are brought to the attention of the compliance officer, as it stands it seems BBC Sportscene is the route! also all incidents in every match must be fairly analysed otherwise it is unfair! maybe the refs & assistants can watch games back?1 point
-
There needs to be a better way of deciding what gets referred to the Compliance Officer. The current method of allowing the Celtic-minded press to decide is clearly flawed,1 point
